I’m the project manager of a technology startup. We’re building a SaaS product for optometrists for medical scheduling.

RMI is our accounting firm.

What was the scope of their involvement?

RMI takes care of our taxes. Additionally, they provide consulting services and help us solve issues with Quickbooks, our accounting tool. We only provide them with our bank statements and receipts, and they take care of the rest.

What is the team composition?

We have an assigned accountant who is our main point of contact. Sometimes, we also communicate with RMI’s owner.

How did you come to work with RMI Professional Corporation?

RMI was a referral from a friend of ours. This person was an acquaintance of the owner. So far, everything has worked out great.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000–$30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working around September 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

RMI has provided us with great suggestions on how to send invoices and organize our documents, so we now have a better organization when using Quickbooks.

How did RMI Professional Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?

RMI is always on top of issues, and they find solutions for us. Additionally, our taxes are always on time. We usually communicate via email, but we also call them if something is urgent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

RMI not only does our taxes, but they also provide great recommendations — we have a good partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

RMI changed the accountant who was working with us, and things got a little confusing and delayed at the time. It would be good if they brought new team members up to speed before introducing them to the project. However, I know that sometimes people quit, and new people just get the information passed along.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get in touch with them and talk to the owner. They’re one of the best agencies you can work with to take care of your accounting needs.
