We’ve heard good things about RINF from other companies and the fact that we knew that they have good engineers in their teams according to our needs was the main factor

The RINF team had to work on different POCs for helping our sales team to present the new features for our software services to our clients and in the end to develop and to customize them according to our clients’ need. The main skills that we need for our innovation projects were Node .JS, React .JS, UI/UX.

The Technical Lead selected for our project was our main contact person. The team had 6 members, Front-end and Back-end Developers. The team members had different seniority levels – from Juniors with 2 years of experience to Seniors with more than 6-7 years of experience.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

With the help of RINF team we had more successful PoCs that our business team presented to our clients and become in the end new features for our clients.

They worked Agile, the same methodology that we use and as a main tool we used Jira and ServiceNow. The team had a proactively attitude and they had a good connection with our internal team and with the business team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We felt from the beginning that we can trust them, and this was very important because it was for the first time when we were working with an external partner for our software services. They were always willing to help us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were a few times when it would have been easier to synchronize with our colleagues from our team in US and maybe it would be helpful to have someone in the team available on US time zone, but it was not a blocking point for us.

We have a complex interdisciplinary software engineering team with rinf.tech consisting of around fifty team members of different seniority levels (from junior to solution architects) and tech skills (NodeJS, Java Cloud, .Net, C#, UI/UX, etc.)

rinf.tech talent acquisition consultants screen and shortlist candidates for us to interview and hire or reject. They're really good at providing strong developer profiles fast enough.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Our augmented team with rinf.tech builds new features for our end client's web application. They also support and maintain the product on an ongoing basis.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

From the start of our collaboration, rinf.tech assigned a Team Lead, a dedicated client engagement manager, and an HRBP consultant to ensure we establish effective workflows and transparent communication within the team and between our in-house and augmented developers. It runs really smoothly for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They provide high-quality services; they're transparent flexible. They're extremely good at supplying diverse software engineering talent for our end client needs. They make an effort to ensure a high retention rate on our project. They're proactive in identifying project bottlenecks in a timely manner and consult us on what resources need to be added to our augmented team to keep the ball rolling.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There’re always areas for improvement, as we don't live in the perfect world. So far we’re happy with how they perform and deliver. We highly recommend them as a reliable and flexible tech partner.

The developers team had to resolve tasks for a Microsoft Dynamics CRM customization project for the Utilities Industry. Development in .Net, SQL, Azure Cloud. Agile methodology.

The Team from Rinf helped us deliver the project in time and as expected.

The team was mainly in our management but the Project Management layer from RINF was helpful because it decreased some overheads from our part. Communication when well considering the pandemic situation.

I liked how they had access to good resources. Desire to solve and deliver.

Maybe even more involvement on the Project Management side could be helpful even though in the collaboration model we need to manage the team directly. Based on their expertise this could help us improve some topics.

The industry is mainly offline and we wanted to build a platform to digitalize the industry. We hired Rinf to build this custom platform for us.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

It was a public bidding based on a fixed price approach, Rinf was selected out of a list of participants based on the intersection of cost and timeline.

We had 74 pages of detailed product specs indicating Rinf exactly what to build.

Being a fixed price project and having a very specific deadline we didn't really know how many people were involved behind.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was failed to be implemented as per their offer and bidding rules in 12 months from the contract signing. Now, after 27 months, the product has bits and pieces (approx 10% out of the total scope).

The only component which was delivered is unstable and has multiple security and GDPR compliance problems. Probably the most important thing is that we have been lied to for 20 months that the architecture is based on microservices as per the bidding requirements but we had to run a third-party code review to make them understand the ugly truth.

On top, we were disappointed to discover that after 18 months the Technical project manager assigned to our project haven't read the product specs.

They are using modern communication tools but this didn't help. We escalated the problem to their CEO and they have tried to fix the code but unfortunately with no visible results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything should have been done differently. They should be transparent and they should carefully understand the scope of the project. They should be implementing the 4 eyes principle, allocating seniors based on the complexity of the project, using the correct mindset when we talk about fixed-price projects.

A partnership is going both ways and for this particular project rinf.tech has taken the customer’s interest beyond its own. I’m the engineering manager of an IT company. I supervise the development of software for cashier machines. We work with different developers, testers, operation colleagues, but also on the business side with product owners, managers, and others.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We work with staff from rinf.tech and place them in our teams together with our internal group. They work together every day, and all of them are considered our colleagues. We have programmers, testers, and operations staff that handle different problems during production like incidents, bugs, and more. There were cases where rinf.tech provided development as a service, but recently it hasn’t happened. Generally, we only use them for the staff augmentation on our projects.

What is the team composition?

I have a main point of contact with a sales accountant who coordinates which partners we get for our projects. In my area, we have nine developers, four testers, and seven operation partners.

How did you come to work with rinf.tech?

It was an upper management decision. We have collaborated with rinf.tech for more than 10 years. This decision was made many years before I was a manager, so I can’t provide details.

I can’t provide a company-wide investment approximation, but in my area, we invest around €1 million (approximately $1,210,000 USD) yearly.

Our company has worked with them for more than 10 years. However, I just started working with them in February 2020, and our partnership is ongoing.

Our programming market is very dynamic and just finding people that are able to work with us is very difficult. We don't have specific metrics to track the work of our partners. However, our main point of contact at rinf.tech is genuinely interested in finding us the right person for the projects, even given the circumstances of our market. 

How did rinf.tech perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate mainly through mail and WhatsApp. The responsiveness of rinf.tech is impressive. I can reach out to them at absolutely any time and they will answer back very fast. Whenever we have some situation when a person wasn’t the right one for the job or a developer needed extra skills, we have sorted it out easily. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve also worked with other providers recently, and they don't have their level of involvement, communication, or responsiveness. They arent' just another provider for us—we have a real partnership with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only problem we have is finding the right people for the job in a timely manner. However, this is not a problem of rinf.tech. They’re proactive in helping us find solutions.

Any advice for potential customers?

Communication should happen both ways, and clients should be involved in reaching out to the council as well as the representatives so they can get the best of cooperation with rinf.tech.
