WWPass is a US-based cyber security vendor with a local presence in North America and Europe. I’m the VP of Operations in WWPass.

To establish and support user expectations and requirements, WWPass contracted Right Studio as an experienced UX/UI team to improve product reliability and put an effort into increasing user acquisition and feelings by redesigning UX completely.

We were choosing from several design teams, looking at proposals. We chose Right Studio because of their professional approach at the start, we liked the way they thought, communicated and approached things.

1st — Research and product investigation Right Studio analyzed all WWPass user pains and expectations, explored product values and key benefits in detail. Defined user concerns and barriers while running the app and regular usage.

2nd — Redesigned the app and dealing with the pains Right Studio revised and reconstructed the whole cross-platform user flows and scenarios of the first start of onboarding process. Moreover, we maintained CX improvements. Right Studio designed a delighted wow-concept, updated brand visual communication and totally redesigned full UX cycle and screens.

3rd — Structured design system and development support Right Studio continuously cooperates with the WWPass dev team over the whole process of app relaunch and testing.

The dedicated team consisted of an art director, a senior UX/UI-designer, a manager, and a middle UX/UI-designer. There were four people in total.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Developed original outstanding product brand design, all levels and communication points were precisely covered and described by a new product brand language. The WWPass Key app got a new attractive look and gained positive feedback from core and new audience.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Regular communication in the messenger, in addition regular calls on the status, to provide solutions (demo). Deadlines were respected, if there were difficulties - always communicated and solved in time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed by the deep expertise in UX/UI, the quality of design, the creativity of solutions, as well as the willingness and ability to cover the full range of design tasks.

I am the co-founder of BillionMinds, an early stage Future of Work SaaS startup. We're building productivity software designed to help busy professionals manage all of the components of their hectic work lives and switch off at the end of the day.

We hired Right to take our product idea out of our heads and paper and put it into Figma to develop a high fidelity UX.

We needed a high fidelity UX to include in our investor pitch materials as well as to feed to our developer team.

Right was referred to us by our retained developer team, Solvd.

Once we select Right, we had several initial calls with an extended team to nail the scope of the project, timeline, and deliverables. We provided them with an initial, low fidelity, Figma project as a starting point.

Immediately they began cleaning it up and making it much more user friendly. They were very vocal with suggestions that would enhance the users experience which we received as extremely valuable.

Currently they are packaging up the work in a UX kit that will go to our dev team. We will continue to keep them on retainer throughout development.

Team is comprised of a UX designer and a project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most important, albeit "soft" metric, was for us as founders to see our idea come to life. It remains to be seen whether the inclusion of the demo into the investor materials will result in any uptick in fundraising.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow is effective and agile. We tend to communicate asynchronously over Slack and synchronously over Google Meets and Zoom. They are very good at taking in new requirements and working with us to prioritize them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We love the collaboration! This team is extremely smart and we greatly value it when they challenge our thinking.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wouldn't suggest that Right do anything different. For my co-founder and I, we need to do a better job of prioritizing their work.

I’m the chief business development officer of SOLVD, Inc. We’re a software development company. In my role, I handle the running of opportunities and partnerships with different vendors.

What challenge were you trying to address with Right Studio?

We do software development for large companies and sometimes we need better expertise in the design rather than what we have in-house. In those cases, we connect with Right Studio in order to provide those services. Their designers have a combination of expertise in iconic design, animations, and more.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the beginning of a project, they do an analysis with the customer. This analysis collects information in order to help them create user stories from materials they then pass on to our engineers for the development phase.

Then, they create simple UI designs and templates, get them approved by the customer, and move on to building the prototype of the solution. At this stage, they provide clickable prototypes and handle our change requests.

After the delivery and approvals, they provide a style guide that can be used in content development. They also do maintenance when we have questions or need clarifications.

What is the team composition?

We worked with their sales manager, several project managers, and 5–6 designers. Usually, a team consists of the main designer, supporting designers, a director, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Right Studio?

We were formerly working with freelancers, but the outcome of their work wasn’t great. We engaged with Right Studio because they dive into problems and goals. They proposed several options and thought deeply about what’s important to the customer.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve invested $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started around April 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work is great, and I’m happy with the UI/UX designs. I haven’t worked with designers who provide services better than Right Studio. Their deliverables are awesome. The processes they follow are amazing. I have nothing negative to say.

How did Right Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication is great, and their response time is good. We utilize Trello and Jira depending on the project’s size. Right Studio follows our project management requirements.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their director gets involved in projects by editing and reviewing the process, adding valuable improvements, and providing good options. This is a big value add to any project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. Their services have exceeded our expectations.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to try them. Once you work with them, you’ll probably never go to another design studio because they’re experts. They care about their customers and pay attention to any issues and then provide a solution.

I’m the CEO at hoster.by — the leading domain registrar, hosting and cloud solutions provider in Belarus.

We started collaborating with the studio from the refreshing brand identity of hoster.by. Later we asked the guys from Right to help out with the redesign of the website.

What were your goals for this project?

Smooth rebranding that reinforces the brand without changing its core and values. To improve the usability of the website and bring it into line with the new corporate identity.

We had some good experience working with team members before.

The rebranding process was pretty tricky, because hoster.by is a well-known brand on the market. We didn’t want to drastically change the logo and the whole outdated style, but at the same time needed a deep reload and fresh innovative look.

The whole process took just a month and we were impressed with the result. So the next step was website redesign.

After a year of cooperation, we entrusted the Right Studio design support of the bulk of hoster.by and .BY registry projects.

Their workflow is just simple and effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The best part is getting results beyond expectations. Somehow they manage to do that all the time. If you’re looking for someone just to carry out a task with an “ok” result — find someone else and keep them free for challenging and ambitious projects.

Basically nothing. But as the studio grows fast, the processes run slightly slower, but nothing really to worry about.
