Please describe your company and your position there.

Before remotely, we had a massive problem with hiring. It was just me, my co-founder, and one other engineer, so hiring was difficult because it took up all of my time. We're an AI workflow tool, and I was both the CTO/CEO so had very little time left for hiring.

Finding an Eng Manager to lead our tech team.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Today's market it's highly competitive and challenging. We wanted to increase our pool of candidates, which in a remote world means expanding outside of the US; meanwhile, we also wanted to stay in a closer timezone. When understanding more about setting up an entity, we found it was super expensive. And then, more importantly, just having the right network would take a lot of time to build, and we're not well connected in other countries.

Initial conversations to understand what we're looking for, syncing on the technical challenge and vetting stage, final interviews from our startup, and then working with Remotely to secure an offer and handle any operational work longer term.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Working with everyone within remotely has been really enjoyable. Loli and Horacio were super great throughout the hiring process, and Pau on helping us with our contracts and offers, all very responsive. We worked with 10 different people, and also were able to chat with the founders.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The engineering manager we hired was most excited by the equity piece of it, which I see as really important because we're not filtering from people who want to join an agency who want to join us. We're just filtering people who are the perfect match for our company and want to join as a part of our team. That motivation structure for the employee is fundamental in getting the right talent and then in the selection process of matching the right people. To this day, the Eng Manager is still an amazing hire and fit with the company - one of the best people I've hired throughout my career (including before the startup)

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Seamless

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The partnership with remotely has been going very well, and it does feel like a partnership. Our incentives and motivations are aligned, finding the best long‑term talent. We were also excited by, in terms of long-term, being able to hire them full‑time after they work with us for five years or so.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that I can think of.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

I heard about Remotely through another cofounder friend who had been using them with great success. Remotely helped source, schedule interviews, and managed the paperwork for hiring employees. It was a painless process.

Remotely helped us source, interview and manage the paperwork of developers hired in Latam.

About 4 people. This included legal, operations and the CEO himself.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We hired two developers via Remotely. Onboarding them was smooth, they are exceptional developers overall and interested in startups even beyond just working for a US company. They are fully embedded in our team, which was the goal.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

When we were sourcing candidates and conducting interviews, we were communicating daily. Now it's mostly quarterly communications just to check-in.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's been wonderful working with Remotely! Having support and people actually in Latin America to help us navigate certain things regarding employment in the region and navigating cultural norms has been really valuable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None that I can think of, honestly.
