BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I work in the Marketing Department at Navigant Credit Union, one of the largest and oldest credit unions in RI with 23 branches spread throughout the state. I am the Events Manager and work in the Marketing Department.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Reel Big Media, and what were your goals?

We needed to create a tribute video to honor our CEO who was retiring after 44 years of service to the credit union, his colleagues and the community.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Have used them in the past for some previous smaller projects and prefer to work with local vendors as well.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

Gary has met and worked with so many people over his 44-year career and that poses a challenge when trying to narrow down who and what to include while trying to be mindful of the video length as well. We decided to choose a handful of people from the credit union, new and older employees as well as a handful of people from the community that could share a different perspective. We didn't have a huge window of time to coordinate the filming of these 10+ people and Big Reel Media was very accommodating. We made a schedule, and they got straight to work to make this happen.

Additionally, we had all 23 of our branch locations, along with all the individual departments from the back office send in quick "congrats" messages for Gary and also worked tirelessly to compile 44-years' worth of photos as well. All these pieces would need to be incorporated in addition to the previously mentioned videos as well. Also, we had a co-worker who has a wonderful history with the credit union record the voice-over script for the video. Again, Big Reel Media, put us in touch with a studio they frequently use, and we got that accomplished quickly as well. Then it was a matter of getting all of this compiled into a "story" and add some music.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Ron directly and an editor (Peter) via Vimeo and would use that to make the necessary edits. It was seamless.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video was shown at Gary's Retirement party on the big screen at a local performing arts venue and it was a HUGE hit! Our CEO was so humbled and touched by the gesture, as were the staff and friends in attendance.

As mentioned, this project was done in a relatively quick turnaround time, and we were grateful for the responsiveness and speed in which they worked!

We had been connected on Linkedin for a while; and I saw some of his licensed drone work.

Specifically our hotel is across the street from Misquamicut beach and I wanted to use drone footage to showcase this; along with the a day in the life our guest.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Ron and another producer. It was SO EASY! They helped with the scenes, took the footage in an efficient manner and did the post production for a :30, and two :15 second ads.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been airing the ad on local TV stations in Providence, Hartford and soon in Springfield, MA. We are full! So clearly something is working.

We did the shoot in an 8 hour day.

They were very easygoing and helpful during the process.
