We outsourced the development of several iOS and Android apps to Redops. They designed the apps, developed and tested them. They also developed databases and back-end systems needed for the apps

Ourselves and our clients were happy with the end results. We throughly tested the apps and they were bug free.

My company is creating a new business model for product marketing in brick and mortar stores; I am the founder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Redops LLC, and what were your goals?

I hired the team to design and build a minimum viable product, with the goal of launching the platform on iOS and Android.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was referred to the RedOps team by a fellow entrepreneur who had worked with the team to build applications in the past. The referral was extremely positive, and it was clear to me that communication with the team would be easy, the cost would be competitive, and the team would be competent.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We held an initial meet and greet/discovery meeting, after which I submitted wireframe sketches. Their project manager created a click through prototype in Figma. After the initial wireframing, the team worked on the apps for about nine months before launching apps on Android and iOS. The team used AWS, Java, Swift, BitBucket, and Firebase Analytics.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I interacted with the CEO, TIgran, and the project manager, Sona. Communication with both people is consistently very easy and enjoyable.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I saved a great deal on costs by working with the team at RedOps. As with all software development, the project required additional time to complete due to the typical unforseen circumstances and bugs. The development timeline was lightning fast, given the size of the project.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The communication was entirely done through Slack. Sona created wireframes in Figma after we discussed specification, and kept track of the project in TeamWork. The team completed the work not long after the projected launch. Since we changed direction on the tasks a couple of times during development, launching just a month after the projected date was impressive. 

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ease of communication and ability to make decisions and problem solve with minimal oversight from myself. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The final phase of development prior to launch could be improved with regard to minor, somewhat obvious fixes. These types of changes are often overlooked by developers, so it's expected when building an application of any size, but there is always room for improvement.
