Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and owner of Waydger, a startup gaming application focused on allowing people to play their interests. People already follow what they care about in the content they seek and watch, so our app will function as a fantasy sports app but for other areas in life, such as reality TV, politics, or lesser-known sports.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Raidon Inc?

I’ve been working on this project for over a year and a half, and everything has been done on a contractor basis. Among these contractors are various developers and designers. Raidon came into the project a month ago to help me develop a web app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Raidon has built the foundational software for a web app that will work as the customer portal for our gaming platform. They used Angular as the framework, focusing on creating a very dynamic and reactive app in nature.

The purpose of our platform is to host the mini-games that other businesses, influencers, broadcasters, and bloggers create so that users can engage easier with their content. Thus, we want this portal to be efficient and dynamic so that these people can create and manage games during real-life events.

The foundational software for the web app was just the first project we assigned to Raidon. Now, we’re scoping and launching a new project with them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked predominantly with two people from Raidon: Ryan (Founder & Engineer), who managed our first project, and Alexander (Engineer). For our second project, they’re bringing in a designer as well.

How did you come to work with Raidon Inc?

I found Raidon on Upwork because Ryan does some work there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I don’t have specific metrics because this web app is part of a bigger project that involves iOS and Google Cloud Platform, but I can say that I’m very happy with Raidon’s work overall. From an estimation standpoint, their work has exceeded my expectations because I was budgeting six weeks of work and a $35,000 cost before engaging with them. The fact that we achieved to complete this project in four weeks and spent $20,000 has been great, especially since I’m funding the project myself.

How did Raidon Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Raidon met the timeline they set initially, which was actually more aggressive than ours’. Regarding project management, Ryan is very good at it and very communicative. We use Slack to communicate daily, and we have weekly Google Meet calls. During these calls, Ryan is very good at asking questions and taking notes, and whenever he says that he understands, it truly seems that he understands. Additionally, we use GitHub and another platform to manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of communication is Raidon’s biggest strength. Ryan is very specific and follows through on everything he says he would do. Additionally, they’re very easy to get along with, making them a good personality fit for us. I really hope to keep this partnership for the next several months.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. So far, we’re very pleased with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set the right framework to work with them and stick to it. Raidon is very good at active note-taking, so be very specific in your communication.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a product/program manager at a Robotics/Software Startup. We are currently at roughly 40 people.

For what projects/services did your company hire Raidon Inc, and what were your goals?

We have more work that we wanted to get done than internal resources. We also didn't have the design/UX competency we needed to complete what we wanted to get done. Which is why we brought on Raidon.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We wanted to build out a new Front End for our users. This meant designing a functional interface to work with our backend which is still being developed. We started out talking about what we need, how we think it should be laid out, and from there, iterate on what we actually wanted. By the end, we wanted an interface that presented well but had all the functionality that we needed.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were two main people, Ryan and Lucus, and a couple more behind the scenes.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are just starting to use the new UI in earnest internally so I don't have any measurable outcomes in that sense. But everyone who has seen it agrees that it looks exponentially better than what we had previously.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had weekly meetings to test and update on how things were progressing. In between those meetings most communication was via Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were extremely available when it comes to fitting our schedule.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Part of this is on us, but I think overall setting expectations about how we want to receive code updates and the frequency of PRs. We did transition project owners partway through their work which was on us and set different expectations of how the partnership would work.
