Qubstudio

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Shelf.io is a SaaS [software-as-a-service] content management system.

What is your position?

I am the CEO and founder.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

We have six developers, but none of them is trained in UX [user experience]. We needed help making our system more usable and easy on the eyes.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

QubStudio helped us with our rebranding. They designed our logo and our corporate identity, edited our pitch deck, created promotional images for our website, and designed our blog. They also went through our entire interface and analyzed each module to determine what needed to be redesigned. From there, they did the whole UX and updated almost every module we have.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

I met them in person in the Ukraine. Their office is elegant and slick, I could tell that they practice what they preach. They have an incredible design environment, and that's why we chose them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We have spent more than $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We essentially have them on a recurring retainer for two people's worth of work every month.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

We don't have statistics yet because of the timeline, but I'm sure I'll have them in four months. What I can say is that I'm extremely pleased with the work they've done, and I'm excited to roll it out.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

Our working model with them has us as the project manager. We control the amount of work that they do and what they are working on. I believe this to be the best possible model based on my experience.

What distinguishes QubStudio from other providers?

QubStudio has been a pleasure to work with. They are very responsive, professional, and on top of things. They definitely understand the United States culture of needing to get things done, and they go above and beyond. Their designer stays late without me asking her to, and I've been able to call them on the weekends when necessary. They have been extremely professional.

Is there anything QubStudio could have improved or done differently?

I don't know – that's a tricky question. I think they do really well with the things that they say they do. Obviously, everyone can improve at something. We're happy so I'm not going to put any comment. They do a great job. For what you pay, you're getting a lot.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

TechMagic is a mobile development studio.

What is your position?

I am the CEO.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

We don't have an in-house UX [user experience] team because we're more on the development side, so if one of our clients is looking for design elements, we introduce them to QubStudio.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We have done three projects with them. In most cases, they start with mockups and draw the interface out. They discuss their ideas with the clients and then develop the UI [user interface]. They pass that off to our mobile team, and we develop the product.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

I met them at a technical conference because we are from the same city, and we discussed a partnership.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

Total cost for all of our projects has been $10,000 to $50,000

What is the status of this engagement?

We've had good experiences as partners so far, so I plan to continue working with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

In most cases, clients are happy to work with QubStudio.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform very well. We are comfortable having QubStudio communicate with our clients, and they are professional and timely with their work.

What distinguishes QubStudio from other providers?

Before QubStudio, we worked mostly with freelancers. It's very hard to organize and manage a team of designers, but they do quite well. They have very good designers on staff, and we definitely prefer working with a company because they are truly a team.

Is there anything QubStudio could have improved or done differently?

I think designers always take too much time to develop a design, so I would be happy if they could do it faster. It's OK for now, but they can always improve.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

You Team is a digital product development consultancy based in London with offices in Amsterdam and Ukraine. We leverage our network of development and design houses to build and deliver an end product for our client.

What is your position?

I am one of three partners. I work with our vendors and providers, mainly engineers and design studios.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

We first used QubStudio to design our website, marketing materials and logo. We now use them as a key partner for user experience and graphic design services that we offer to our clients.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

About 80 percent of the services they provide for us are user-experience related. Of these interaction design services, it is split evenly between mobile and web platform work.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

I have known QubStudio for about eight or nine years. They designed some graphic stuff for me before I founded my current company.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We have done more than 20 projects with QubStudio, totaling somewhere around $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have an ongoing engagement with them. They maintain our site and are currently working on some graphic materials that we are using for our marketing. We also have a couple projects with our clients that QubStudio will be involved with on the design end.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

We launched our new website at the end of February [2016] and our conversion dropped. During the next two months, we implemented a series of updates and tweaks and are now seeing 15 leads per month compared to zero.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

QubStudio performed well and delivered on time. I don't have any critiques for them in this area. The main reason that I continue to work with them is because of the quality of their design. Their quality is indisputably high and, sometimes, we are willing to sacrifice some time for the sake of getting a better result.

What distinguishes QubStudio from other providers?

Quality, first of all. From the quality perspective, QubStudio is unrivaled compared to other Ukrainian studios and probably all studios in the region. They are definitely above the level of most agencies.

Is there anything QubStudio could have improved or done differently?

This is hard to say because I'm not very involved in the design side of the business, but we've been satisfied with everything so far.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

My organization is DentConnect, an online application that assists dentists with scheduling and organization.

What is your position?

I am one of the cofounders.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

My partner and I had an idea for an app that helps dentists organize their patients, schedule appointments, track the history of patients, and save patient photos online.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We hired QubStudio to develop a mobile and web application. They did all of the development and played a huge role in the design as well. My cofounder and I are dentists, so we communicated our ideas to their team and asked them to implement them as they saw fit. They did everything from logo design to software development to launching it in the Apple Store.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

We are located in the same city as QubStudio, and they are well known in our region. I looked up some companies on the Internet, and they were the most highly recommended by my friends and colleagues. We also visited their headquarters before we agreed to work with them. We wanted to see the team and the facilities, and we were quite satisfied with it.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The project was about $15,000 overall.

What is the status of this engagement?

The application is launched, but is in the beta testing stage. We are still working on some development improvements.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The app has been downloaded by 600 users thus far. We have seen some very positive reviews from people that say the app is easy to use and much less complex than similar products that are on the market. We also have a few "early adopters" who we have given extended access to in order to find things that could be improved and any bugs that we have. Overall, the reactions have been positive.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a project manager who was responsible for communicating the appropriate tasks to the designers and developers. He sent us reports as work was completed, and we communicated regularly over Skype, email, and trailer software. We were satisfied with the deadlines and general process of the project management.

What distinguishes QubStudio from other providers?

One of their very strong points is the design component. We really liked the ideas they had from a design and user experience perspective. They are also very modern, and we got the impression that they are very good at keeping up with technological trends. It was clear that the QubStudio team was dedicated and involved in the project, beyond just developing the code. They were very interested and shared their ideas and input, which we appreciated.

Is there anything QubStudio could have improved or done differently?

My partner and I were rather unfamiliar with how long the development process was going to take, so we felt that the application could have been completed faster. However, they declared a deadline and finished their work on time, so there is not much I can complain about.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We partnered with Qubstudio to develop a visual identity for our organization — one that would clearly reflect our mission and values. The main goal was to create a powerful, meaningful merch and a brand system that would communicate strength, support, and unity through the lens of sport and community.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Qubstudio worked on developing our visual identity, focusing on preserving the existing logo and brand color while complementing them with additional elements to ensure symbolic depth and lasting impact.

The process began with a thorough analysis of the brand’s current state, its integrity, and the competitive environment. Based on this, they proposed concepts to refine the existing logo and brand color, enriching the system with new visual elements, additional colors, and a slightly updated version of the logo — all while maintaining its strong recognizability and continuity.

Although the primary focus remained on the logo, their approach was holistic, ensuring scalability and consistency across the entire system. The new elements complemented the logo seamlessly and integrated smoothly into the established club style.

The central idea was embodied through the image of a finish line, naturally resonating with a running club and the theme of sporting races. An additional accent color provided a unique distinction from competitors and further strengthened brand recognition.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The team managed communication with clarity and openness. Most day-to-day interactions were held via Telegram, with regular check-ins and video calls to align on feedback and make strategic decisions, held on an opportunity to meet offline and conducted retro sessions. They maintained momentum throughout the process while remaining flexible to our input.

How many teammates from Qubstudio were assigned to this project?

We worked closely with a Creative Director, Brand Designer, and Project Manager.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Qubstudio worked on developing our visual identity, focusing on conveying our mission and values through the updated logo and new brand elements.

The process began with a thorough analysis of our brand’s current state, its integrity, and the competitive environment. Based on this, they proposed concepts to refine the logo and color palette, enriching the system with new visual elements, additional colors, and an updated logo - all while maintaining continuity with our brand heritage.

Although the primary focus remained on the logo, their approach was holistic, ensuring scalability and consistency across the entire brand system. The new elements complemented the logo and integrated smoothly into the evolved inVerita style.

The central idea was embodied through a semi-circle at the center of the logo, which scales and allows elements to integrate and create complex visual compositions. It symbolizes unity, trust, and continuity, reflecting our people-centered philosophy. The refreshed color palette conveys calm confidence and global reach, while the structured graphics and typography bring clarity and precision. Together, these elements strengthened brand recognition, improved visual consistency across touchpoints, and fully supported our strategic objectives.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project unfolded in a structured three-phase approach, starting with onboarding and research. Qubstudio began by conducting strategic sessions and stakeholder interviews to fully understand our business objectives, priorities, and target audiences. Workshops with our internal team allowed for alignment on vision and expectations. StoryBrand workshops helped structure communication for future marketing and website strategy, ensuring that all messaging would resonate with our audiences.

In the second phase, Qubstudio transitioned to the branding refresh. They developed two brand refresh concepts, exploring variations in logo, color palette, typography, and supporting visual elements. They defined the brand’s tone of voice and core messaging, while producing key collateral materials such as social media posts, banners, and merchandise.

The final phase focused on creating a Brand Book, which documented the correct usage of logos, colors, fonts, and other visual elements. As a result, we achieved a cohesive visual identity, enriched with unique complementary elements, including the updated logo and new graphic accents, which preserved the core idea, values, and continuity of the brand. The refreshed identity strengthened brand recognition, ensured visual consistency across all touchpoints, and fully supported our strategic objectives.

Describe the scope of work in detail.
Qubstudio led the development of our visual identity, focusing on concept creation for a logo with symbolic depth and lasting impact. The process began with ideation and conceptual exploration, evolving into a thoughtful brand direction that embodied our values.
One of the core inspirations behind the final logo was the Japanese technique of kintsugi — the traditional art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This philosophy celebrates imperfection and resilience, making the object even more beautiful and valuable than before. It deeply resonated with our mission of healing, recovery, and inner strength, and served as a meaningful metaphor in our visual identity.
They also delivered a selection of brand touchpoint designs to demonstrate how the identity would work in real-life applications. While the primary focus remained on the logo, their approach was holistic — ensuring scalability and consistency across the system.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project delivered multiple logo iterations, illustrating the conceptual journey from abstract visuals to deeply meaningful symbols. This evolution not only shaped the visual identity but also clarified our internal understanding of how we want to present ourselves to the public. The final result is a powerful, authentic logo that resonates with our mission and connects with our community.
