What was the scope of their involvement?

Qubika provided mobile engineering services for our company. Initially, they helped us build our mobile app from scratch. Later, when we hired an in-house mobile engineering team, Qubika helped us raise the app's quality and round out features our core team didn't have time to fund. The team built core features, fixed bugs, and generally improved the app's quality. Qubika built an initial prototype of our app, an affirmations feature, redesigned settings, multiple complex views in our journal, the ability to delete accounts, the ability to upload and crop profile photos, and the ability to share links with our agent.

We worked with Qubika from October 2023–April 2024, and then again October 2024 to August 2025.

We were a startup, so we didn't measure much.

We were responsible for project management. We communicated via Slack and monthly 1:1 meetings.

Yes, Qubika delivered items on time and was very responsive to my needs. We communicated nearly daily and had meetings frequently. I was shown screen shots at every interval in the project in which key features were finished. In so doing, I was able to provide real-time feedback that in turn enabled us to move much faster with the work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Thier ability to be creative while still within the bounds of the core functionality I wanted to have in the prototype. The Qubika team came up with some really unique and innovative visualizations that accomplished my objectives far more than the simple way I was thinking of doing so. 

In addition to Qubika's creativity, I absolutely loved working with everyone from the firm! They always showed up ready to work and collaborative. 

Lastly, I valued the Qubika team's high degree of transparency - e.g., letting me know that to build a specific prototype feature in the real version would be quite expensive, and thus, is this a feature I really need - and communication. I never had an email not responded to and they were up for meeting reguarly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Qubika could have done differently?

There is no room for improvement. I recommend Qubika to everyone I meet!

That the website worked as intended and that all content was usable.

yes, they were very responsive, always responding within hours of any request. They did what and we asked and more. And the site was delivered on time, as promised. They worked very fast. In fact, when they told me how quickly they'd be able to get the website up and running, I was skeptical, but they delivered.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We liked Moove It's webpage and the information they provide there, and also the good attendance we received from their employees.

Basically, we reached Moove It knowing our needs but without a clear idea of the solution. We had the first call where they guided us to the best way of designing this software. Then we started the project and we had weekly meetings during the month of work to exchange ideas with the programmer about our needs.

We work the most with their CTO and also with one of their software engineers.

Now we have a better organization with the appointments management and also we reach a level of patient engagement we have never seen before.

Everything worked perfectly and the exchange with the Moove It team was very effective.

I am a freelance software developer. I mainly work with software agencies working on mobile and backend development.

For what projects/services did your company hire December Labs, and what were your goals?

We had a mobile app project that needed a scalable backend solution. We brought December Labs in to design and build the backend architecture for the project.

SOLUTION

How did you select December Labs and what were the deciding factors?

I knew December Labs from my local co-working space. Since I also work in software development, we had already had several conversations about collaborating. I also knew of several projects that they worked on that went well.

December Labs helped us design and develop the backend architecture for a mobile app. They developed an Express app in Node.js hosted on EC2, designed and setup a PostgreSQL database on AWS RDS, and setup several other AWS services like S3, SES, Cognito, and Lambda. They setup a Postman instance for our QA team so we could QA their work while the front end was still being worked on. They set up a Forest Admin account so we could easily make changes to our data as needed. They provided us with technical documentation and support after the main development was finished.

We worked with 2 people. One senior architect and one backend developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

December Labs went above and beyond and finished their work faster than expected. They stayed available to help as our other dev continued to finish his work. We were extremely happy with their work, and they were a pleasure to work with. The dev we worked with was available at all times, and gave us constant updates.

The senior architect was available to help us make structural changes when the project direction pivoted here and there. We asked them to work on several different cloud services, and they did a great job incorporating all the different services. The code quality was great and we loved having their dev available to work with our mobile dev on the project.

After the project finished they provided support and technical documentation as questions came up. I am looking forward to working with them again on future projects.

Both of the individuals we worked with were available to chat with us whenever we needed to. We used an Agile setup with a Kanban board on Trello. At the beginning of every sprint we worked through what work would get finished and what the major goal of the sprint is. We also set aside some QA time for our team, so we could address any issues as they came up. Their main dev worked directly with out mobile dev, and their senior architect was available to meet when needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They did not simply join the project to do development, they got invested in the quality of the work and made several recommendations that greatly improved the project. They were always available for advice. They also worked through any technical challenges. Working with their team was seamless.

No, we were very pleased with their work and will work with them again.
