Qream was engaged in early 2026 to design the full visual identity and event asset package for Spotify's annual Hack Week, themed "AI Amped." The scope covered brand development through to physical office materials, with a two-month delivery window ahead of the May 18 event.

The brief was to create a recognizable, AI-forward identity that felt inspiring rather than intimidating, and that worked consistently across digital, video, comms, and on-site touchpoints. The visual language needed to drive participation from every function at Spotify, not just engineering. What the project included Brand identity development — creative discovery, moodboards, logo evolution, typography and color direction, a core graphic language built around an "AI x Human" theme, custom icons and emojis, and a data visualization style for guides and templates. A mini brand guide was delivered covering usage rules and examples. Motion and video — logo animation, creative direction and visual system for executive welcome and closing/winners announcement videos. Digital and comms assets — animated website banner, presentation slide template, Google Meet background, and a full set of internal comms banners sized for email, Slack, and Spotify's internal publishing channels. Physical assets — office posters, TV screen and elevator display loops, and stickers.

Beyond the original scope, Qream also delivered additional assets including Zoom backgrounds, an updated emoji pack, Hack Fair banners, a PowerPoint template, and a comprehensive Figma file containing the full visual system. They also designed the track and category pages for the Hack Week website, which went through iterative feedback. Qream was provided with past Hack Week design files from 2022 through 2024 as creative context.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Hack Week site saw increased traffic compared to previous years, with more employees visiting the site ahead of and during the event. The refreshed visual identity gave every comms touchpoint, from email banners to Slack posts to office displays, a consistent and recognizable look that helped cut through internal noise.

Qream was excellent to work with from a project management perspective. They met every deadline throughout the engagement, delivering the full brand identity and asset package within the two-month window ahead of Hack Week. Turnaround times were consistently fast, even on ad hoc requests that came in outside the original scope.

When we needed revisions, whether it was condensing the category page layout, resizing banners for new formats, or adjusting the website design based on feedback, they turned things around quickly and without friction. The process felt genuinely iterative rather than transactional.

In total, they delivered 18 creatives across both campaigns, which was actually more than we initially expected. Qream also proactively prepared all necessary resizes for Google and Meta platforms, which made the whole process much smoother on our side.

We’re preparing for launch next quarter. However, from a delivery and quality standpoint, the results already exceeded our expectations.
Their deliverables were stronger than anticipated, and the overall creative output feels very aligned with our product and target audience. We plan to come back with performance results after launch and maybe optimize the creatives based on learnings.

The communication with the Qream team is fast & amazing, they're super responsive to all of our needs and the designs they create were approved from the first try. About the timeline of the project, we had some setbacks, but it was coming from our side as we were the ones holding up the process.

Their streamlined communication was impressive, as I understood that all of my feedback will be passed on to the team. Exeptional work quality, as every concept was amazing, and attention to detail was top notch.

We loved the collaboration and wish that we had found them sooner!
