Our company specializes in developing software solutions for the restaurant, coffee shops and catering (HoReCa) sectors. We provide comprehensive systems for warehouse management, sales, and point-of-sale (POS) operations. Additionally, we develop mobile applications and conduct cross-platform development to cater specifically to the needs of the HoReCa industry. Our goal is to streamline and optimize these processes, ensuring efficient inventory control, smooth sales transactions, and effective overall management for our clients.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

qCloudy deployed a new infrastructure for Caspian in the AWS. They configured the network infrastructure, including a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and routing. An Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster was set up, along with an AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) with backups, ElastiCache, Elastic Container Registry (ECR), and AmazonMQ for RabbitMQ. Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Promtail, Loki, and Prometheus were also configured.
qCloudy developed and configured CI/CD pipelines for backend services and assisted developers during deployment. They set up a VPN server using OpenVPN for secure access and provided comprehensive documentation. Additionally, a Web Application Firewall (WAF) was added for enhanced security. Lastly, they migrated the PostgreSQL database to AWS RDS, ensuring a smooth transition. Key deliverables included a fully configured AWS infrastructure, monitoring setup, CI/CD pipelines, deployed services, secure VPN access, WAF, and a successful PostgreSQL migration.

Measurable outcomes included enhanced security and performance, efficient container management, reliable database services, improved application performance, streamlined container image management, effective message queuing, comprehensive monitoring, automated deployments, secure remote access, and a successful PostgreSQL migration. These outcomes demonstrated significant progress and success.

GoCrowd is an effective crowdfunding platform where investors can invest in promising projects and increase the profitability of their portfolio, startup and investment entrepreneur. I am currently in the position of Team Lead.

For what projects/services did your company hire qCloudy?

For the pilot launch of the product, we needed to quickly deploy a secure and scalable infrastructure to AWS.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

In our case, it was important to find the right specialists quickly, I posted an ad in a local telegram group and Nurbek contacted me, he quickly got into our problems and offered the best solution in terms of speed / quality / price. Up to this point, we tried to work with freelancers, but the timing and quality were unsatisfactory

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

They deployed the infrastructure on AWS according to all the best practices: deploying AWS EKS with the correct subnets setup, deploying RDS followed by configuring key rotation for access, MemoryDB, deleting root users and properly configuring IAM users with the necessary policies, deploying an antivirus that checks files that get into the S3 bucket and send a message about this by Lambda and SNS, deploy Gitlab Runner for CI / CD and configure pipelines on Gitlab itself. All these things were suggested by the Gitlab team itself, since our team does not have such experience, so it’s worth saying that if you don’t know what and how you should do it, then it’s better to turn to Qcloudy.

One senior devops architect, two strong middle devops engineers, and Nurbek himself is a competent manager and an experienced engineer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They solved most of our problems with the delivery of our product to the end user, and most importantly, it works safely, not a single server or server crash in almost a year of working with Qcloudy, we, as a development team, do not need to get into AWS because everything works as it should.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Without unnecessary bureaucracy, all decisions are made quickly, and both our teams consistently work with high efficiency.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

These are specialists with vast experience, who most often know better than you what you need in order for your digital product to be scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be great to have some kind of guide on how to use the best tools to interact with AWS/EKS. Perhaps Qcloudy should even require you to install the necessary utilities and make the necessary settings on your computer, since I had no experience with AWS, I had to spend enough time to figure out how to work with Kubernetes.

Cloud architecture was complete upgraded; separated to different zone (DMZ, DEV, etc); improved security levels and rules (VPN, IAM, IPA etc); full automatic CI/CD speed ups dev and testing process; control center with business dashboard based on Grafana and Prometheus

Ultra fast response for all question, very fast implementation of all ideas
