We had an old website and wanted to design and build a new one, so we hired QClay.

What was the scope of their involvement?

QClay redesigned and developed our website. First, we collaborated on research and brainstorming ideas to reach the final concept. From there, QClay designed the site using Figma and developed it using Webflow. For the design, we requested that the user have a smooth integration with the website and that the site support animations.

We communicated directly with QClay’s creative director. Additionally, several designers and developers contributed to the project.

We searched for web design companies on Google and came across several options to interview. I found several positive comments about QClay, and once we communicated with them, we decided to sign an agreement with them. We chose QClay because they were curious about our needs.

We worked together from March–May 2023.

Our collaboration with QClay had good results. After we launched the site, we saw a 50% increase in our conversion rate. 

How did QClay perform from a project management standpoint?

They met the budget and timelines. We determined the delivery dates from the beginning, and QClay used Trello to keep up with the dates and deadlines, which I also observed on my side. We used Zoom and email to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Initially, we outlined our needs and discussed them with QClay. I was involved in the project and had a very nice interaction with QClay’s team. In turn, they took very targeted actions that responded to our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing they needed to improve — they were great.

Determine the outcome you want and set really clear goals. Additionally, I suggest getting involved in the website development process.

What challenge were you trying to address with QClay?

We approached QClay to see if they could help us create a brand identity for our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

QClay helped us develop the complete brand identity for our business from scratch — it was a big project. First, they asked us what was our idea and mood board, as well as for a couple of references from other brands that we liked. We have a lot of stakeholders, so QClay also interviewed them all throughout the process.

QClay also did their own research, gathered information, and began a brainstorming process, which took about a week. We explored different possibilities and variations for our brand identity because we had never gone through a similar process. After that, they created a mood board, and we provided them with our feedback.

Next, QClay started working on the conceptualization of the logo. This process took us a lot of time because every little detail was important. Their team also helped us define the color palette and design our merchandise and other brand identity collateral. The project went well, so we also asked QClay to create the UI/UX for our landing page. As for the technology stack, they used Figma for their designs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two brand identity designers, a graphic designer, a project manager (with whom we were constantly communicating), a UI designer, a copywriter, and a research team. The research team analyzed a lot of information.

How did you come to work with QClay?

When we had the idea for the rebranding, we found QClay accidentally by looking at other agencies online. We saw that QClay was very good with brand identity and design, and they had a lot of work in their portfolio.

During our research process, we were a little hesitant while looking for service providers, but when we found QClay, we were sure that they would do a good job. We were amazed by the quality of their work. Many of their projects were animated and had 3D elements, but their branding portfolio was also superb.

Before finding them, we had considered three other agencies. However, during our initial meeting with QClay, we decided to go with them. They sent us a proposal to review with our whole team, and we signed a contract afterward. The process was very easy, and they were very friendly.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

QClay did a great job. Every single member of our team liked our new brand identity and the way it conveyed our company name. The branding is eye-catching, which is perfect. Unfortunately, the mood of the cryptocurrency market isn’t what it was a year ago, so we decided to freeze the project. Still, we’re now developing a mobile app, and we plan to launch everything in the spring of 2023.

How did QClay perform from a project management standpoint?

QClay’s project management was good. Their project manager was always available, and he was very responsive whenever I had questions. Additionally, QClay delivered everything on time, so it was a good collaboration. As for communication, we had Google Meet meetings and used email for formal correspondence. Using Figma was also very helpful because it allowed us to leave comments and keep track of the progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

QClay responded quickly, worked fast, and knew their work. I was always very calm and confident that they would deliver the project on time and at the highest level. That was what distinguished QClay from other agencies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing QClay could have improved; everything was good.

Have a clear idea and vision of what you want from QClay. We still had some challenging moments where we went back and forth, but the fact that we had a clear idea of what we wanted was helpful.

QClay provides UI/UX design and branding for us. Initially, we had a couple of concepts and drafts in mind. After we selected QClay as a partner, we had a Zoom call and connected with their project manager and team using Slack and Figma, and after that, they started sending us updates every 2–3 days. 

The deliverables have included creating a new logo from scratch, content, a color palette, illustrations, and a brand book with merch and graphics. Moreover, they’ve provided the first draft of our website's UI/UX design, which is the next step of the process.

QClay was very responsive throughout the interview process. In addition to the design samples available online, their quick response times gave me the confidence to partner with them.

We had chats with regards to our vision for the website and a number of design calls where we would periodically review updates. The final deliverable was the website design which we then implemented.
