Our client has ordered the active development of new powerful software for media content management. We urgently needed strengthening of the QA team. Our dev team closely cooperated with the Qartrock QAs team to increase the quality of a delivered product.

What were your goals for this project?

The Automation QA team created on C# a flexible and scalable testing framework for cross-browser testing that meets the specific requirements of the project. Test scenarios were created by the Manual QA team in a way that allowed them to be easily automated, so the Automation team started implementing scripts right after the framework was in place.

How did you select QArtrock?

We decided to involve QAs from QArtrock like an independent QAs team to have an independent vision of the product’s quality. This cooperation gave us good results and partners in the future.

Our client has ordered the active development of new powerful software for media content management. We urgently needed strengthening of the QA team. Our dev team closely cooperated with the Qartrock QAs team to increase the quality of a delivered product.

What was the team composition?

3 Development Teams with the following equal amount in every team:

• 1 BA
• 2 Back-End devs
• 2 Fron-End devs
• 2 QAs
• 1 Scrum Master

24 people in Teams in total.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Qartrock improved the development process and managed to establish reliable and transparent testing and delivery process:

• A clear scope of work reflected in the test plan and scheduled results reporting
• Comprehensive test coverage via Work Breakdown Structure and well-designed test scenarios
• Traceable testing results where the defects were mapped to the corresponding test scenarios. This enabled instant detecting of the error-prone areas
• Automated regression test suites were run nightly followed by an email to key stakeholders with a detailed report
• Suite of automated and scalable API and performance tests

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were working together productively to gain one goal as a result Client has got a quality product.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their strong communication and reporting routines impress me because it ensures us traceability and transparency. Besides that, QArtrock has a professional attitude toward projects. They treat each client’s project like their own, and it definitely shows in the results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

In general, I can’t find any significant issues.

The QArtrock team was involved in our project from the very beginning. They provided quick and effective QA testing during the platform’s MVP phase. QArtrock used a combinatorial testing approach that guaranteed comprehensive coverage of test cases. One of the most critical system requirements was to provide an adaptable solution for billing calculations.

We worked with five QA engineers from their team.

By applying proper test design techniques, the QArtrock team ensured that they covered all critical use cases and minimized the number of unhandled edge cases. Their test documentation was clear, accurate, and showed the scope of regression testing efforts.

They were able to handle changing requirements and environments.

We automate processes of selling and purchasing educational services in seven different formats (offline events, streams, video, webinars, consulting, corporate training, e-books, podcasts). Sellers can sell their products simultaneously in any convenient format and buyers from the other side can take advantage of purchasing chosen products on the marketplace with its typical attributes - quick search, comparing, assessment and safe transaction.

Describe the project in detail.

During the whole project, we had a few meetings concerning the discussion of objectives and technical moments of the process. In order to meet the main goals of our cooperation, QArtrock conducted a variety of testing and presented clear and detail reports.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

QArtrock team has tested our web application and offered efficient suggestions for improving it. Based on our requirements, they built a test strategy that improved the system's performance, as well as helped to identify issues that could have had a very serious impact on users ratings after the release. QArtrock constantly updated the documentation and provided up-to-date information on the system performance.

The list of bugs provided helped our development team make appropriate improvements just in time. That saved a product downtime and costs

What challenge were you trying to address with QArtrock?

They were helping us prepare for an ISO 9001 certification. They were also hired to help with audit support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us prepare our quality management system (QMS) for an ISO 9001 certification and an ISO 9001:2008 certification. They did system recovery and surveillance and prepared a review after the audit. Later on, they helped us upgrade from the ISO 9001 certification to an ISO 9001:2015 certification by doing a system upgrade and surveillance audit. 

During the upgrade to ISO 9001:2015 certification, their services included performing a detailed gap analysis and updating our training and development records within our internal internet. QArtrock created an updated QMS documentation system in the company internet as well. They also prepared for our management review and supported us during that audit.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with three people. Our main point of contact was the project lead. Most of the time they worked onsite, but they also worked remotely.

How did you come to work with QArtrock?

We had spoken with a representative from the company before, and we knew he was an expert in this field. 

How much have you invested with them?

In total, we’ve invested less than $10,000 with the team.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in December 2017 and ended the engagement in September 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were successfully certified, and we got good reviews from certification bodies. We were very pleased with their services. 

How did QArtrock perform from a project management standpoint?

They are great at project management. We had ongoing meetings where we would assign tasks and deadlines to QArtrock. Everything was communicated very clearly and well documented. It’s very easy to work with them. They are very professional, and we will hire them again if needed. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everything they delivered was good, but in particular, they created an excellent documentation system for us. They prepared an internet system with all the procedures, workflows, and KPIs. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve on.
