BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the founder and managing director and my organization is a specialist tech & digital recruitment agency. We cover everything from searching for one-off candidates with niche skills, to project managing the recruitment of entire teams. I am one of the founders / directors.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Q Content?

To develop an overarching content and social media strategy and manage the monthly content calendar, planning and producing social posts, videos, blogs and thought leadership articles. We wanted to raise awareness of our brand and what makes us different but needed a coherent plan to target three distinct audiences - clients, candidates, and consultants for our own internal recruitment drive.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had worked with them at a previous company on a similar project after they were recommended by a client. We felt they understood us as a business, brand, and individual. We had good chemistry with the team, and they also put together a plan which was sensible and realistic for our budget and the amount of time our leadership team had available.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Q ran a series of workshops with us before developing a content strategy and monthly plan for our content. They now manage the ongoing planning and production process making sure we have multiple pieces of content and social posts each week with the minimum impact on our time and resources.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

On a day-to-day basis we deal with Rachel our dedicated content manager, Lewis who handles the social media post scheduling, and Matt who is the primary writer assigned to us. We also have input from Ben Hollom (Q’s MD) during the strategy development and at regular ongoing review meetings.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The quality and frequency of content had dramatically improved, substantially increasing social media engagement and website traffic.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They took away the headache of running our content calendar on a daily basis without us feeling out of control or like the content wasn’t our voice. We had weekly video calls and email status reports along with a shared calendar so we could always check what content was planned for ourselves at any time. There were a few teething problems in the early weeks while we established the best ways to communicate and who within our business should field certain questions but Rachel and the team have been patient and well organised.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their understanding of our brand personality and ability to produce content which felt authentic, as if we’d written it ourselves. And Rachel’s admin / organisational skills which kept everything on track even when we weren’t being the most responsive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had one or two small miscommunications in the very early stages but I felt these were rectified promptly and processes were immediately adjusted to avoid repetition.
