We looked for video production companies in our area using Upwork. After reviewing 3-4 proposals, we chose this vendor because of their affordable price and personable team.teamWhatsApp group

We started with a discovery meeting. They understood our requirements and provided a sample video at first. We were really happy with the product and thereafter we started the project and handed over all the videos to them.

We worked with a project manager who outlined the project and kept us on schedule. After each milestone, we would give him feedback, and he'd communicate it to the animators. They shared their work through WhatsApp group chat, which allowed us to comment directly on certain designs.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video is being showcased on Bar & Bench - a legal news platform. Thereafter many Managing Partners and Partners of different firms reached out to us requesting us to include them in the series.

The team was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. If they needed to change something, they told us ahead of time so that we could discuss it. We mostly spoke over video chat and email since their team was remote. We could talk with the animators directly through our WhatsApp group, too.

The Propel guru team has been gracious enough throughout the process. We really liked their turnaround time and they used to follow up with us at every stage to ensure the quality of work.

Nothing comes to my mind as yet. We were completely satisfied with the videos received.

We were looking for someone to do scheduled posts on social media for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Every week, Propel Guru sends me a report with everything they’ve done. This wasn’t one of our initial demands, but it helps us manage better. They post on Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon once a week. They weren’t experienced with Amazon, but they’re flexible to our needs.

We have many images and videos, so we’ve given them the link to all the media in Google Drive. Propel Guru creates the content, thinks about what and when to post, and sends us what they’re going to post. Initially, we’d review whatever they created to make sure that they posted it correctly, but we quickly realized that we didn’t have to look after them at all.

We started posting twice a week, but lately, we’ve reduced it to one post per week because the winter months are slower for the business. They also reply to customers, which we didn’t even ask them to do. We don’t reply to comments on posts, but they can do it if we ask them to.

Additionally, we asked them to download the videos and take snapshots from them. It took around two hours of work, so we were surprised when they didn’t charge us extra. However, we decided to pay them despite that; it was nice that they could help us figure out all of those things.

What is the team composition?

We have a WhatsApp group with them, and there are three people. They have a designer, someone who delivers the schedules and does the content, and someone else who takes care of the communication.

How did you come to work with Propel Guru?

We worked with another company before, but they didn’t do a good job. The posts weren’t good, and the content wasn’t interesting.

We posted the job on Upwork and asked everyone that replied to do a small task of creating content. Propel Guru created the content quickly and didn’t ask any questions. Moreover, we liked their work the most — they knew what they were doing and had the confidence to do it.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $1,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began our engagement in November 2021, and we plan to continue working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

People that follow the brand have sent us positive messages. They’ve been surprised by the quality of the work, mainly because they’d seen the previous ads. Now, people engage with the posts, and they like them.

We’ve noticed an increase in sales on Amazon, but we also had an increase in sales with the previous company, so it’s tough to know if their work has increased the sales or not. Nonetheless, we’re satisfied with their work and won’t change them anytime soon. They’re creative, and they deliver well.

How did Propel Guru perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. They’ve done what we agreed, and there haven’t been delays. They send us a report once a week, which shows everything they’ve done that week and what they’re planning to do the following one.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The amount of effort they put into the work is impressive. We don’t have to spend more than two minutes a week talking to them because they do everything by themselves. Propel Guru is fully autonomous, which is amazing because we don’t have a lot of time to deal with those things. We only work with people who can manage things independently, and their team posts at a level where we’re comfortable and don’t have to interfere.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although they’ve done pretty well, Propel Guru doesn’t tell us how to get the account level higher. On one side, that’s good because we don’t have to communicate too much, and they do everything autonomously. On the other hand, they don’t suggest what would be more beneficial for us, so they don’t give us ideas on how we could do better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should be clear about what you’re looking for to know what to expect. They’ll do what you tell them to. If you ask them to post once a week, they’ll do that, so be very clear on your message. Also, ask them for samples to know whether you feel comfortable with their quality of content and posts.
