BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re an automotive machine shop that’s been in business since 1984. We specialize in the high-performance cylinder head portion of the high-performance industry. We have customers in the marine field, automotive racing, high-performance streetcars, and occasionally the aircraft industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Prime Accounting Solutions?

Andrew (CEO) provides business accounting services for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It’s morphed along over the years. Originally, Andrew was doing everything for us. He was inputting invoices, doing payables, reconciling accounts, and running payroll. After he sold his payroll services, they’ve handled our bookkeeping.

What is the team composition?

I primarily work with Andrew.

How did you come to work with Prime Accounting Solutions?

I actually found them through a Craiglist ad. Andrew was offering mobile bookkeeping services. After seeing his ad, I called him to see if he could come out to our location. A day later, he came out for an interview, where I hired him on the spot.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $120–$140 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our business relationship in 2008.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s been a great relationship with them all of these years. Andrew’s been very helpful. If we have any questions or issues, he is happy to help.

Andrew now does all of our tax preparation, including our federal and state returns. He keeps ahead of when things are due.

During the height of COVID-19, there were a lot of grant and loan programs. Andrew provided a lot of guidance for us to navigate through that.

How did Prime Accounting Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Andrew is quite efficient. I can email and get a response shortly after. He is very attentive in that regard.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Andrew has always been there for me. Before COVID-19, he would visit my shop every week. He would meet with my CPA and office manager to bridge the gap between all of the accounting work. He’s been extremely helpful in many ways, beyond the accounting work he does for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As far as our accounting needs, Andrew has met all of my issues. He provides helpful guidance, always willing to work with me and my office manager.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’m lucky to have found him and to have such a good, strong business relationship with him all of these years.
