I’m the CEO of an international art importing company. We do wholesale and retail.

I needed their financial accounting services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle all my corporate and personal management as well as tax preparation and filing. In addition to that, they do my document creation.

What is the team composition?

I work with about 4–5 from their team. However, I primarily communicate with Jack (Senior Partner) and Mary Lou (Managing Partner).

How did you come to work with Portney & Company?

They specialize with a number of people in my county, and I heard about them through word-of-mouth.

How much have you invested with them?

I spend an annual amount of $3,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership began in April 1984.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve taken away the entire emotional burden of taxes for me. I have complicated taxes related to being an S corporation and having international work. Between my bookkeeper and their tax abilities, they’ve completely relieved the stress of it all. I’ve done as well as I can with tax preparation and how much I have to pay.

How did Portney & Company perform from a project management standpoint?

Their company is organized and easy to get in touch with. They’re great in every way.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really understand how to take the emotional burden out of tax situations. Often times, we get emails from tax organizations saying we owe money when we don’t think we do. Portney & Company looks them over and finds out the organizations are often incorrect. What’s more, they’re able to explain what the difference is. Their team tends to be right, and they’ve really proven themselves over the years.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m not sophisticated enough with taxes to imagine anyone could be better.
