Some of the selected SMEs and mid-caps will be featured in a branded video series with the objective of showcasing the project benefits, validating the work done by the participants under a support programme, evaluating the project’s outcomes and encouraging new companies to apply for Change2Twin and enjoy digital twinning benefits in the future.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for videographer providers in the area of the factory where the shooting was to take place. We chose Polaris on the best value for money criterion and their portfolio.

Two (2) versions of a 5-8 seconds animated intro (at least including the project’s logo and name, the Series name - i.e. “A coffee with a #digitaltwinchampions”. See example here.

Version 1 : Subtitled Meet the Deployment Voucher Beneficiaries

Version 2: How can #digitaltwins change your business A 5-8 seconds outro (including at least project logo, partners’s logo, EC disclaimers about funding and about contents, any other credits).

Raw material of at least 15-20 minutes video with real images of the company factory and interviews to two or three different persons explaining their solution out of which 5 to 8 minutes to be used, after approval, in the final material for each of the 5 use-cases.

A call to action animated screen. 5 second animated frame with CTA to potential candidates/digital twinning. Name tags to be added to the video: please provide at least three (3) branded tags to be used together on screen (name of the person - name of the company - Country). Branded and animated question cards to embed video in.

See example here. Design 3-4, branded template for cards to write the questions to the interviewee. Branded transition screen to be inserted in between the questions frames. Free-to-use music for at least 2 minutes. Subtitles to be added in English. Up to 2 (two) reviews of the video included in the offer.

I’m the owner and president of 914 Pictures. We’re a film and video production company based in Philadelphia.

We brought them on for their video production services.

We’re working on a documentary about a famous World War II cartoonist. I was in need of some drone shooting in Italy.

I did an internet search and found Polaris Video Service. I looked at their work and thought they’d be a good fit for our needs.

The engagement started and ended in July 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

On the day that they did the shoot, they were very communicative. They sent sample work as they were shooting to show how everything was going. I was pleased with their communication and professionalism.

How did Polaris Video Service perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was great. The details of the shoot were straight forward, and I was extremely pleased with my interaction with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work speaks for itself. They’re an excellent company that has high-end professional services to be offered.

No, I can’t think of anything.

They’re what they say they are. I’d recommend them for their services.

I’m one of the sponsorship managers at Defence iQ. We provide business solutions to connect industries and communities. I specialize in events through organizing conferences and digital and in-person events.

What challenge were you trying to address with Polaris Video Service?

We needed someone to be able to help us put together video content using corporate promo videos provided by companies. We wanted these videos to be edited and produced into a showreel that would be shown at events we organize.

In addition to their participation, our sponsors and companies wanted to promote their solutions in the video format through social media and at the event.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Polaris Video Service was able to help us produce this showreel. They also help us capture video content through filming the events, capturing the essence of it. With that, we can produce a promo video for us to advertise the following year’s event. We use this to target companies that haven’t worked with us before, helping them visualize our events.

Max (Director) and his team included interviews and soundbites as well. They interviewed some speakers from the military and industry partner side.

What is the team composition?

This particular event took place in Rome. Max had a colleague come to support him with equipment and other areas on site. In terms of editing, I’m not sure how many were involved in the editing piece.

How did you come to work with Polaris Video Service?

Many of our big conferences are based in the UK, and we’ve used a lot of the suppliers based here. We run this event in Rome every September, but we didn’t have any kind of video from that because it would take more time to outsource someone abroad.

As the event grew, our production lead suggested we look for a supplier in Rome. I’m not sure how they were found in terms of details, but it was a quick set up. We might’ve looked at different reviews. We needed someone competent, and that had a decent portfolio.

We went on to have a call with Max. He sounded friendly and gave us examples of his work. It felt like he knew what he was talking about.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about £1,200 (approximately $1,600 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We use this showreel at many events for networking. Our sponsors and customers are putting work into these videos. The fact that they had all of their corporate teams be represented at these events showcased how happy they were with the videos. With the promotional videos produced afterward, we’ve received a positive response from the community.

We’re very happy with the working relationship. Max is able to turn things around very quickly. He is effective at managing the relationship and giving swift updates.

How did Polaris Video Service perform from a project management standpoint?

I prefer phone calls because I find that much easier. Max is clear about his requests through email. I typically respond by email and then follow up with a phone call to talk through everything.

From a project management standpoint, we probably had three or four calls per project and probably the same amount of emails. Max knew exactly what we were looking for in future projects because he knows what we want.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Max is very approachable. Their rates are also competitive. The production process isn’t rigid. Max is quite flexible, working with our partners and sponsors. We had a few come in a bit later, but Max pushed his team to get the project done, even working later. Other providers would say it was too late, but Max was always happy to accommodate us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. If we were still doing in-person events, we would still be working with them on that. They’re a great team, and I’ve had no issues with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear understanding of what you’re looking for. They’re a small company, but they’re able to turn things around very effectively. Even if you have a large project that you want to propose to them, they can handle it. Their team is very capable, which you’ll notice once you start working with them.
