I’m the founder of Compass Visas, an immigration services company. We provide employment-based visa and green card support.

What challenge were you trying to address with perceptiveCFO?

We needed help with general accounting and financial forecasting.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

perceptiveCFO has cleaned up our books after our previous tax providers and accountants messed things up. They’ve fixed all the previous errors and got us into a routine to get some clarity into our business. They handle our monthly accounting and bookkeeping and help us with forecasting to understand what we can afford in terms of upcoming hires and other things. They’ve also plugged into all our systems, including QuickBooks and other custom software.

What is the team composition?

We work with three people, including the owner and a bookkeeper.

How did you come to work with perceptiveCFO?

They were a customer of ours. They seemed well-suited to work with us after talking with them about some of our problems.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $2,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve saved us thousands of dollars in both recovered funds and tax penalties we weren’t even aware of. We’ve also gotten back hours every month that we would’ve spent trying to run our own books or think about the business’ financials.

How did perceptiveCFO perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. They’re very proactive, so I don’t feel like I have to manage the project and ask them for things. They present things in my business that need attention and take care of them with little input from me. We typically communicate through email and text messages.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There are a handful of startups in this space that I’ve either worked with or had other customers use their competitors. The difference with perceptiveCFO is that we want someone who knows our business and how it works. The bespoke element of their service is where we get a ton of value.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. I haven’t had any real issues so far.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They can’t take everything off your plate; you still have to have some input and make decisions. Their job is to advise and assist you, but they won’t manage everything. If you come in knowing that you’ll have a good guide to help you make decisions about your business, you’ll be in a good position to use them.
