We hired Peersoft to assist with backend development work for our team. They focused on some of the following: 1. Automation DNS record generation & validation 2. Helping to build a sign-up flow 3. Integrating with our CRM 4. Tons of bug fixes, small improvements, etc

How did you select Peersoft and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed Peersoft and selected them due to their communication, ownership (they actually focus on delivering customer-valued features vs "code to spec), and code quality

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All projects ended successfully. We were quite pleased with the results and would gladly work with the peersoft team again in the future

While they normally work in an agile style, they all adopted the styles of our team (hybrid agile)

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their attention to detail and high skill level was notable in the partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing. They're responsive and proactive. I'd be happy to work together again in the future!

For what projects/services did your company hire Peersoft?

We hired Peersoft to help us with building an app that would streamline our operations and improve communication, both internally and with our clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

We've contacted Peersoft, after we have received good review from our partner company that has used their service. Deciding factor was the flexibility and price.

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

Our cooperation started with workshops during which we described our operations and issues in detail. Peersoft’s team also observed our team at work and conducted interviews to learn about the biggest challenges they face. This stage helped us find common ground and list requirements for the development.

They prepared the first prototypes during the workshop, along with a user story map. They worked in Agile and built the app with Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Docker, React, and Azure.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our main contact was an account manager. Team consisted of 6 pallets.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

With the app built by Peersoft, we are able to access all order information within one application, access all order-related communication, update order and driver status. With the new tool, we also prevent drivers from making calls and texting while driving, which increases their safety.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had meeting every 2 weeks to sum up and review the progress. We planned the tasks in advance and reacted to the changes in the project. I find the communication and managing was very effective.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found it was very reactive and flexible. I think they know agile very well and were able to go through with us in this process quite smoothly. They have provided us with a superb quality of product, and that is what I value most in their service.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

To be honest, I would really have to try hard and think hard of any areas for improvement. The experience was extraordinary, so even if there were some hiccups during the process of development, it was minor and not meaningful at all.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We're creating an e-commerce platform that aggregates a huge database of clothing offerings from across the globe and segments them according to our unique criteria. We’re currently restructuring the company and service, so it’s currently unavailable.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Peersoft?

We hired Peersoft as a third-party developer to be in charge of actually building our service.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peersoft developed software to collect and parse large amounts of data from external sources. They created API mechanisms that allow our database to integrate with external merchants and fine-tune the data to present it effectively on our e-commerce platform.

We kicked off the project with a three-day workshop for team-building and brainstorming, so we could establish our needs and expectations. We set goals and outlined our methods for achieving them. During that workshop, I relayed all of the critical features and functionality that we needed the software to have.

What is the team composition?

We worked with five people from Peersoft, including the CEO, a UI/UX coordinator, and three programmers.

How did you come to work with Peersoft?

I asked my network and received leads for three potential partners. We called all three, but Peersoft was the most helpful and understanding. They stood out to me as engineers who had both hard and soft skills — they were very strong communicators. We then held a two-hour meeting, and at the end of the meeting, we shook hands and began our partnership. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $150,000 with Peersoft.

What is the status of this engagement?

We initially developed the software from January 2020–October 2020, and we still consult with them. We completed the beta at the end of August 2020, tweaked the software throughout September 2020, and launched in October 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Throughout development, Peersoft has recommended multiple modifications and upgrades that have made our product more robust and efficient. They've been instrumental and imaginative in turning my concept into a beta first and then a live system. That's been their most differentiating, outstanding contribution at the onset of the project. Overall, I have been extremely happy, and we’ve had no issues with them at all.  

How did Peersoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been timely, responsive, and proactive, using agile sprint methodology to manage the project. They’ve held very well-explained briefing sessions and summaries, cross-checking progress with the overall project plan after every two-week sprint. I’ve found that convenient because I like to keep things short and simple.

We’ve preferred direct, hands-on communication when it’s feasible. We’re both located in the same town, so I was at their office almost daily during development. I’ve actually enjoyed visiting their office because they’re so open and friendly.

They’ve also coordinated with our separate third-party UI/UX team and copywriter. We’ve used Fleep, Slack, and sometimes email to communicate with all of the project’s stakeholders.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re supreme communicators who are very upbeat, customer-focused, and empathic. They really seem to enjoy their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We haven’t been able to avoid all of the delays and hiccups that naturally happen during development. In an ideal world, you want to plan the calendar and stick to it, but I have no complaints and still consider them to be perfect strategic partners.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be yourself and be as open, wild, and creative as you like. They will hear you, understand, and give you feedback that will set your mind at ease regarding your project.
