I am the founder of CarpeDM Adventures. We have been in business for the last 15 years in Quito, Ecuador.

Our business was established 15 years ago. For the most part I would be the one involved in the design/maintenance of the website. We were looking for a fresh design, new look and feel, compatible for mobile, desktop and tablet. Most importantly we wanted to be able to make updates in the backend pretty easily.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Selection process was complicated, as I needed a website design that would would be SEO friendly, didn't require too much micro-management, and provided easy way to scale when needed.

During the initial we discussed branding and goals for the website. They provided some mock-ups with the new design. We selected the one most relevant to our business / branding and then it was off to work.

I worked directly with the owner Pedro from concept to completion.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The design was complete, we are already receiving requests through the chat channel they set up, emails, and WhatsApp.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Pedro made it extremely easy to exchange ideas and ways to improve the website's functionality. He was available 7 days a week, and always responded at a moment's notice. Even though I didn't expect this type of availability on his side, it did demonstrate his commitment to deliver a quality product.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It's just not a design company that delivers you a product based on the initial proposal. It's truly a collaboration, and even though they have more prominent clients, they make you feel like your project is their priority and will do what it takes to meet your needs and, in many ways, exceed them. Even though I would never have budgeted this amount of money for this type of project, it was worth every last penny. It was the greatest investment I made in my business in a long time. They over-delivered. We would highly recommend them to anyone interested in building a web presence.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I was impressed all around. I'm a solo entrepreneur and juggling many things simultaneously. I had to meet specific deadlines to keep the momentum going, yet they kept moving forward even though I was late in providing the necessary information.

We had a website designed in the past, but we only had the visuals, so we needed help to develop the site based on our previous design.

Pedro Pixel developed our website from scratch based on the dossier we provided. Besides the development, they're improving the platform's design and photography, among other things, like SEO for online positioning.

We've spent $600 with them so far.

We have started receiving calls from prospective clients that have found us through our website, so we feel like we're beginning to experience results already.

They always stay on top of deadlines. Regarding tools, we communicate through Zoom meetings, WhatsApp, emails, and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They feel very close to us because their interactions are personalized and familiar. Also, they're great at getting our ideas and translating them into great results — I always feel that they listen to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It'd help if there were a way to follow up on the website's positioning. I have no idea the number of visits the site has, for example, so that would be a nice thing to know.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to their advice. Also, make sure that in terms of language, you can clearly express what you need because there can be some miscommunication.

They used WordPress to design and build our website from scratch. They delivered a landing page and functionalities that included a contact form, a booking form, and a simplistic theme.

It's great having a website in regards to digital positioning.

How did Pedro Pixel perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great from a project management standpoint. Their office is from a different timezone, but they were able to adapt to ours with ease. In addition, they delivered an excellent project plan, accurately delivered our requirements, and our occasional meetings ran smoothly.

We used Drive for project management and communicated via Skype, Zoom, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their work's quality and ability to adapt to the design requirements.

They should consider growing their team to take on more projects.

Be very clear on how you want your website to look before you start working on your project.
