We are building a SaaS product, which is a booking and scheduling cloud-based app for the healthcare education sector. We require a UX designer to design some screens of the app, which will provide a visual design to the development team. You will be required to translate the functional requirements specificatin into a series of comps, which will be used by the development team when building the screens.

The types of comp that will be required are things like reporting, user dashboards, signup pages and management views. Experience of designing a SaaS product is preferred. We have identified several organisations who are willing to discuss their requirements, such as reporting, user dashboard and other features. Good English skills are essential in order to understand the specification and communicate with the project team.

We initially hired Pecode to manage the automation of our testing. We’ve since expanded our relationship, and they’ve provided two more people to support our software development capabilities. They’ve also helped us select the platforms for our manual and automated tests. We use TestRail for our manual testing and Jenkins for automated testing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re impressed with how Vlad (Frontend Developer), who's in charge of automation, jumped in from day one. We have a complex software that he needed to spend time understanding, and he was very productive very quickly. Within a couple of weeks of being hired, he was already producing work. Overall, he has met and probably slightly exceeded our expectations in terms of productivity.

How did Pecode perform from a project management standpoint?

Pecode has performed well in terms of project management. They deliver on time, and the quality of their work has been great. They work remotely and in a different timezone, but they’ve been highly flexible and responsive.

We typically communicate through Slack, email, and Zoom meetings.

We were developing at a very high rate, but the coverage of unit tests was insufficient and we suffered from bug regressions as a result. So we opted to look for skilled QA engineers to help us test the application. In later stages they became involved in the software release cycle as well with mostly the frontend team.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated a couple of companies and did interviews with the specific engineers we were going to work with. We ended up selecting Pecode for the no-nonsense administrative handling, direct communication with the accounting manager and the skilled engineers.

The QA engineer helped in the beginning to run regression tests for every projected release and later on became involved with the delivery of features as well.

The number of bad regressions dropped significantly right from the start and we were happy with the metrics on the number of bugs reported and the QA verifications of bugs or issues that were in development.

The internal workflow we were using up till the end of the project allowed us to get QA feedback before the deployment of a release, so there was a lot of flexibility in number of hours to be worked on their side.

They provide high-level QA testing at an affordable price, responsive and flexible employees speaking very well understandable english. Good reporting of number of hours worked, issues created, etc.

One of my clients needed support in managing the development of an internal web application. They did not have in-house competence for creating the concept and design of this application so we decided to hire an external team for this.

We posted our project on Upwork and selected Pecode after comparing them with other applicants. Our comparison was based on interviews, previous projects, portfolios etc. Before agreeing on collaboration, they received high level project specification and provided an estimate on how long they expected the project to take. We had prepared mockup pages for 90% of the functions, so the user journey and processes were known beforehand.

We had a kickoff meeting where we went through the scope and known details. We then decided on a general design concept and after that we moved on to create wireframes for each page required. We worked in close collaboration using commenting function in Figma and Slack, so we could keep track of progress and resolve issues/required updates asap.

They provided a senior designer and a junior designer for the actual design part. They also had a project manager who managed time reporting, invoicing etc. One of my requests was that I wanted direct dialogue with designers, which worked very well.

We had already defined the pages required for this project and had a pretty good understanding of how long it should take for a good designer to produce wireframes based on the documentation provided. Pecode met our expectations very well, both in terms of time and budget.

We used Figma and Slack to run daily operations and resolve potential questions that arose as work progressed. We also had weekly standups to review weekly progress, flag delays and go through the overall production etc.

As usual, in a new collaboration, it takes a while to find a good rythm and work flow, but Pecode were attentive to our needs and after just a week or so we found a good working structure that enabled us to maximise output.

Kris did a great job with the initial design and all the other design change requests which included items outside of scope.

The client was extremely happy with the design and can't say how nice it was for a designer to manage multiple change requests while staying on schedule.

Their ability to create concepts off project briefs was outstanding. We give a semi-detailed project brief and answer any initial questions and they provide detailed designs that typically require minimal changes.

We searched for skilled UX, UI designers and we found Pecode Software. They are a very professional company and were very keen on helping us. Additionally everyone we have worked with was very qualified.

We gave some pointers as to what we wanted the redesigned website to look, feel and work like. Then Roksoliana and Stas made the designs for us and always listened to our feedback. We did not have a set idea and they both helped us find the look we were going for. Both also helped our developers with feedback so that the design and the actual product were almost identical.

For the automated testing we had requirements to use a specific tool. For the manual testing we were in search for detailed processes.

We provided Pecode with access to our project board in Jira where they were able to create tickets/ bug reports.
