They were recommended by a friend of mine who they worked for as well. What we liked about them is they were both there to advise on marketing and the financial aspects of the business -- so basically they were also business consultants, not just a marketing team.

A lot of our clients come directly from google searches -- so a lot of work was done to improve our rankings and organic traffic. It is a very competitive landscape so monitoring how much money is being spent and the return was crucial to our success. We also focused on finding and monitoring an seo-vender to assist in generating organic traffic to our site.

They have also assisted with developing our firm internally - in terms of making a well-functioning intake team and monitoring each members progress to ensure the business was functioning efficiently. The main take away with all projects are to ensure that the funds we were putting our were well spent and beneficial to the business -- it is not just about spending to spend.

We also have a member of their team who works on our social media platforms. This includes creating and posting monthly social medial posts. And again, along with the marketing aspect of it, Jake has functioned at a CFO-type level to ensure we stay on budget and achieve our yearly goals in terms of growth and profit.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our business has grown substantially since 2018 all due to their involvement. We have developed a 7 person intake team along with increasing our google rankings and organic traffic. All while staying on budget.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very much so -- and what is even better is that their team does not need much, if any, "hand-holding." They understand the objective and hit the ground running. Of course approval is asked for any additional spend or out-of-scope additions, but generally speaking, they are very autonomous and stay 5 steps ahead of the work that needs to be done.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really care about the success of the business. It's more than just making a profit on their end -- they want to see our business succeed as well. They also have very open lines of communication with us. I never feel neglected or unheard even though I know I am just 1 of many clients.

No. We are very happy with their work and excited to continue to grow with them.

I am the head of marketing for Raise Green, a financial services platform that crowdfunds clean energy projects and climate companies through the sale of private securities. I determine strategy and create content for all marketing channels.

Raise Green is at a critical junction, as we have a number of projects in need of funding and an investor base too small to hit the threshold for all projects. We hired Pareto PPC in order to grow our investor base and reduce our CAC. Pareto PPC ran a multi-channel paid ads strategy on our behalf, aiming to generate between 75-150 new investor accounts.

We researched leading PPC companies with experience selling disparate products and this lead us to Pareto. We were impressed with their breadth of clients and the fantastic testimonials they provided.

Pareto PPC ran ads on behalf of Raise Green on Facebook, Instagram, and Google (both search and display). In order to have the greatest level of granularity for conversion tracking, Pareto helped optimize our Google Analytics Suite and enabled us to have comprehensive cross-domain tracking for the first time in our organization’s history. With multiple domains, this was no small feat. Pareto used our content, copy, and set audiences for ads, but was also incredibly proactive to suggest new content and audience targeting parameters. This proactivity made them the ideal partner, they felt like an extension of our marketing team by providing key insights and potential strategies for growth.

Moreover, they were constantly communicating their thoughts and campaign results, both over email and calls, and in a beautiful automated Google Data Studio dashboard.

We worked with two account managers and the COO of Pareto PPC. The COO was attentive and attuned to our goals and campaign, a level of dedication and responsibility we weren’t expecting from an executive level member. We were certainly not the biggest client Pareto had, but this level of care made us feel like the most important.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The ads campaigns were extremely successful. The ads helped us lower our CAC by nearly 50% and delivered a volume of conversions that fell within our goal range. This showed us that paid ads are a viable means of conversion going forwards. Pareto expertly helped us adjust our budget to reduce costs and increase conversions, demonstrating which channels and audience parameters were the most effective for our content. Separately, they introduced us to Facebook Lead ads, which generated 300+ new leads at a cost ~1000% cheaper than our average new lead cost. Our new vein of ads will likely be a core aspect of our marketing strategy going forwards. We wouldn’t have experimented with it without Pareto’s guidance.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had in-person meetings scheduled bi-weekly, with ad hoc check ins as needed. I felt as if I could call or email their COO at any time of day and receive a quick and thoughtful response. Same with the account managers, who were both experts on the entire field of paid ads and data reporting.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was truly impressed by their proactivity and strategic thought. As we currently don’t have a Chief Marketing Officer, it felt like Pareto helped fill this void. Besides delivering our goal results, they helped provide a number of insights that helped expand the overall efficacy of our marketing program. Their knowledge of consumers, data best practices, and media platforms is unparalleled, we would be in a much worse spot had we selected a different PPC agency.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. There truly was nothing that could have improved this relationship, other than if we had a greater budget to work more intensely with Pareto.

I’m the digital marketing manager of a safety and consumer-care products manufacturing company.

We hadn’t done any paid advertising work in a while, and we had an e-commerce entity for which we wanted to start advertising products, so we hired Pareto PPC.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Pareto PPC provided us with Amazon and Google paid advertising for our e-commerce entity. They also offered us social media advertising services, but we didn’t require them.

Initially, we gave them insight into our high-level strategy, which included telling them which products we wanted to showcase. Then, Pareto PPC ran with it and came back with recommendations detailing the ongoing maintenance strategy for the advertising programs we needed. After that, they launched our entire efforts, including setting the first programs and connections.

What is the team composition?

Bo (Co-Founder & CEO) and Jacob (Co-Founder & COO) were our initial contact points and walked us through their different services. Throughout the engagement, we also worked with three different account directors, the most recent one being Susan.

How did you come to work with Pareto PPC?

I already had worked with both co-founders at another company. When our need arose, I contacted them because I already knew they were great at what they did. We plan to return to them when we’re ready to restart our efforts.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $10,000 per month, so we paid around $120,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2021, and we paused the relationship in June 2022. We decided to pause our engagement because the e-commerce entity is going through some profitability and pricing changes, so Bo and Jacob were very kind in pausing it so that we had time to address those issues.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our goal was focused on improving our ROAS, and Pareto PPC managed to get us to a 4X ROAS, which was what we were striving for.

How did Pareto PPC perform from a project management standpoint?

Pareto PPC always met the deadlines and stayed within budget. We communicated via email and had biweekly meetings to review the project. We also had quarterly business reviews to assess the larger program. Additionally, we shared documents on Google Drive, where they also custom-built a dashboard. It was very helpful because we could access it any time and had full transparency into the data and notes they took every biweekly meeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Pareto PPC’s team members were very good at what they did. Jacob and Bo we’re extremely knowledgeable, and Susan was very responsive and knowledgeable as well, answering every question we had very quickly.

Additionally, they went above and beyond their line of duty, bringing their vast background to the project. For example, we had very basic Amazon questions, and they were very open and willing to help us solve them, even though they were only focusing on advertising.

Pareto PPC was also very attentive and accommodating to our specific needs, willingly customizing solutions to facilitate our engagement. An example is that we let them know at one point that we needed an account director who gave us more guidance and feedback, and they were very quick in pairing us with the right person for the task. Their helpful approach brought a lot of value into the relationship overall.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of a constructive piece of feedback for Pareto PPC. My only constructive feedback was regarding the account director we needed, and they quickly solved that issue.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend working with Pareto PPC. Make sure that you’re very open about your needs and goals. As long as you’re clear about those aspects upfront, the relationship should be smooth sailing.

Since implementation, our sales growth is over 24% higher over last year, while our sale per-customer sales have grown 17%. Our new customer acquisition also has grown over 18% while our costs have risen less than 5% higher than last year. All in all - a fantastic investment and plan from Pareto.

We started out with a weekly meeting ( 4 to a meeting) then that led to bi-monthly and now monthly. They have weened us slowly so that we are more self-sufficient.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their senior marketing, Jacob was right on spot. His ability to communicate clearly was both impressive and a time saver. Pareto knew we had an extreme sense of urgency and work to meet those needs in our time schedule.

Not that I can recall, they continue to work hard while educating us on new opportunities and benefits.,

I worked with Pareto PPC when I was Chief Operating Officer at Misha Nonoo, a women's luxury fashion brand that sold primarily through our DTC ecommerce channel and our owned retail stores and pop ups.

As a DTC brand, we relied heavily on our internet discover channels, which were primarily Google Search, Google Shopping, Yahoo, Bing, Facebook and Instagram. We hired Pareto PPC to lead strategy and execute campaigns across all channels. We wanted to see sustainable expanded outreach and a healthy ROAS.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I inherited Pareto PPC as the vendor of choice when I joined Misha Nonoo, but I quickly understood what a great partner they were - I came in with a lot of new goals and pretty high expectations, and Bo and Jake were able to pivot to meet my new requirements. They came to the second meeting and completely blew away my expectations with the thoroughness over their ability to change direction and support the new brand strategy.

I worked with Pareto PPC for 2.5 years, so we had several different project scopes. They managed the ongoing strategy and maintenance on our paid channels, and continued to initiate strategic projects throughout our time working together to improve performance. For example, while we were cutting spend during a budget drawdown, they ran a controlled test to see if our Branded Search was actually bringing in incremental revenue vs just holding the top of Google Search rankings for us.

We were able to show that it was not bringing in material incrementality, and so we were able to temporarily pause that campaign without any sales impact. They also ran Lifetime Value analysis for us that greatly helped improve our understanding of our customer and our ad spend.

I worked directly with Bo and Jake for the first two years, and then as the agency expanded, I worked with one or two account managers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

With the help of Pareto PPC, we were able to maintain and steadily improve our ROAS targets across all paid channels. This was before the iOS update, and I had a VERY tight lens on ROAS. They were able to meet these targets and continue to improve our efficiencies on an extremely tight budget. These days, that's not necessarily the recommended approach, but at the time this allowed us to run successful, profitable, and budget conscious campaigns.

Communication was usually via weekly performance reports and quarterly in person strategy reviews where they brought a presentation showing our performance to date and the recommended next steps. Weekly campaign adjustments were mostly taken care of via email (at my request) and video calls when necessary.

Bo and Jake are two of the best partners I have ever worked with. They are both smart, creative, resourceful and understand the needs of a business owner. I found them to be empathetic, to respond very well to feedback, and to go above and beyond to see the brand succeed.
