I’m the general manager at a law firm. We offer personal injury services for people in the U.S., and we mainly work with class-action lawsuits.

What challenge were you trying to address with OS ITservice - San Diego IT Support, IT Services, Managed IT Services, Networking?

I wanted to have security cameras set up in our office because we had people coming in and out a lot. For our call center, we were dialing all the numbers manually, so I was also looking for a solution that allowed our call center people to be able to call automatically, in order to speed up the process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They set up a fixed security camera system. Now I can see what’s going at the office. They set up an amazing call center system that’s an autodialer.

How did you come to work with OS ITservice - San Diego IT Support, IT Services, Managed IT Services, Networking?

I found them on Craigslist and I’ve been working with them for over a year now. We use them for IT support — whenever we have a problem, we’d just call them and they’d come and fix it. I like the way they handle problems and get things done, so I explained the situation with our phone calls and they suggested setting up an autodialer. 

We originally chose them when we had an issue with our internet and we were desperate. We didn’t have internet and there were 25 people in the office.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $50,000 so far. We pay a monthly fee for having the autodialer set up.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2021, and our partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The performance of our call center is much better now. Instead of dialing 40 numbers an hour, they dial 300 numbers an hour.

How did OS ITservice - San Diego IT Support, IT Services, Managed IT Services, Networking perform from a project management standpoint?

My point of contact is always available. He knows me and I trust him. I can communicate with him through text and he would answer — I have his personal number and that’s amazing. He takes care of whatever problem we have, and the team sticks to the deadlines. 

When we set up the autodialer, it took them one week longer than the estimated time, but that wasn’t their fault as they always respect the timelines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

My point of contact feels like he works for me. It doesn’t feel like I’m working with a third-party company, because he’s always there for me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’ve dealt with all the problems I have. They’ve been doing really well.

In April 2020, I came up with an idea to create a system that would eliminate the need for servers in restaurants. It would allow customers to scan QR codes to make orders.

I see QR codes in restaurants everywhere I go, but our system is a bit more complicated. Our orders go straight to the kitchen, and the customer can pay directly through a web application. We have 12 people working for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with OS ITservice?

I was initially looking for hire developers myself, but I got in touch with someone from OS ITservice that not only understood my idea but were able to improve it a bit.

The biggest challenge was to develop this system in a timely manner. There was a full lockdown in the US and Spain, and I was trying to create something as soon as possible to make sure it would be ready by the time restaurants opened up.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

OS ITservice developed a web application for restaurants but works similarly to delivery apps. It’s strictly for the web to make it easier for customers to simply scan the QR codes and have the menus open directly on their phones as web pages. We didn’t want any hassle for the customer.

The software has three versions –basic, standard, and premium–each with a different price. OS ITservice set up the database, the payment gateway, and the QR code functionality. Each table has a unique QR code. They had experience in this environment, which allowed them to make suggestions for improvements.

What is the team composition?

I’m not sure how many people worked in the background, but I worked with one main contact.

How did you come to work with OS ITservice?

I was based in Chicago, and I looked on Clutch for development companies. I called all the service providers in the Chicago area that had low prices. Many of them didn’t answer, while others told me that they were busy.

I got in touch with OS ITservice, and they understood the project right away. They also told me that they could deliver in two months, which was very important to me.

I received quotes from others that said it would take 3–6 months, given that I was building it from scratch. The app involved payments and working with kitchens.

How much have you invested with them?

The total amount was $140,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with OS ITservice in April 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In just two months, OS ITservice developed the full system. Currently, they’re doing maintenance. Everything is ready, but we’re still making improvements and fixing bugs. OS ITservice adjusted their open-source basis to our needs.

I’m selling the product on a subscription basis in Spain and the US. I’m working with more than 300 client restaurants, and I got back most of the money spent with OS ITservice in a month. I’ll have full revenue in the next two months, so the investment was worth it.

The fact that I got 300 customers in less than a month means that restaurants have loved the product and want to use it.

In terms of marketing, I’m calling restaurants and setting up appointments to show them the software, and they love it straight away. During COVID-19, we want to minimize interactions between people, and this software does that. Clients don’t even have to pay at the counter.

How did OS ITservice perform from a project management standpoint?

During the lockdown, we ran the project. Everything was done through email and Skype calls. I got monthly updates over email, and we also used RocketChat for instant communication. They used it to share pictures with me and communicate any issues.

We used Redmine for project management. They created weekly tasks there, and all development was divided by section and tasks. I was able to see how the project was evolving there.

I don’t have much experience working with other developers, but I find that OS ITservice’s performance was good. They were able to complete a full project in two months with testing and everything else.

What did you find most impressive about them?

OS ITservice was cost-effective. They have an open-source-oriented workflow. Instead of trying to create everything from scratch all the time, they aim to use existing code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m pretty happy with them, and I haven’t had any problems so far. If there’s something they could improve, it’s minimal. Their main contact developed a friendly relationship with me and tried to understand my challenge.

I’ve used Slack in the past, compared to Redmine’s interface, which was a bit hard to understand in the beginning. In a couple days, I got used to it. I believe OS ITservice uses it because they prefer open-source software.

I'm Performing conceptual, detailed design/analysis and installation sequence of pressure. I'm conducting planning, scheduling, and project engineering for FEED and detail design. I manage fieldwork operations activities and organization of 10 subcontractors on a daily basis.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to build an Active Directory server for our employees, with all security and policy standards requested from CTA.

How did you select this vendor?

We requested 5 estimates from different vendors. Alex the project managers seems to be the knowledge tech guy while the other companies used a salesperson.

-Set up a Shared VPC that enables you to access Managed Microsoft AD from multiple projects, and connect Managed Microsoft AD to an on-premises Active Directory using a forest trust. -Configure firewall rules that protect access to Active Directory from unauthorized sources. -Deploy Managed Microsoft AD in a single region and connect it to an existing Shared VPC. -Create a management VM and join it to the domain. -Use a delegated administrator to connect to Managed Microsoft AD.

What was the team composition?

Alex was the one coordinating the project between on-site technicians and remotes ones.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The server and network set was fast and painless. The team managed everything from licenses to hardware. The system is working perfectly we don't have any issue in our office. They also introduced good helpdesk software that decreases a lot time frames for IT support.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The office was completely empty so the OS ITservice team was free to operate. The workflow via the helpdesk software is amazing we usually have an answer in less than 10 minutes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The project manager was explaining to me all the technicalities, that helped me a lot to understand what were our office needs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I had a good experience working with OS ITservice.

We had a small office before and the server room was not efficient. Our company was growing fast and we didn't have chance to properly mange server etc. Moving to a new location and starting from scratch was a good idea. Now we have huge improvements in performance and the monthly cost of IT is reduced drastically

Alex was the project manager and he had other two guys helping him on site. Other people worked on server remotely.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We don't have anymore internet outages, running a call center it's important to have a stable system. Not only the overall system is faster but I'm saving huge amount of money. I NEVER called OS Itservice back to fix something that wasn't working. This is impressive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Alex, the project manager, took care of everything. We didn't even know that he was working on our server/location. Most of the time his team was working during the night. We basically had two days of downtime, and it was during the weekend. The migration involved 150 computers and 3 servers.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They really care about my business and they understand our situation. We need more up time possible during the migration and they decided to work during the night.
