I'm the founder of an organization called Owning My Blackness that works to educate, advocate, and elevate for black students.

We hired the team to design our website. We are a new and upcoming organization that is growing fast and we needed custom features for our website. The process was smooth and easy and would recommend to anyone who needs a professional website.

I first had several meeting with Brandon describing the organization and our work and what exactly we were looking for. Brandon was amazing and always followed up with any questions and kept me updated on the process of getting the website built. I was even able to preview the site and ask for a view changes before he went and published the site.

I only personally worked with Brandon.

The site is amazing and everything we asked for. It's been a very useful tool in getting everything organized for our organization.

I had occasionally phone or zoom meetings with Brandon, but we maintained constant contact through text and email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We liked how they cared about the organization and made sure that what I was asking for was exactly the best fit. He would bounce ideas to me on ways to improve the site and what could better work for the needs of the organization. Also, the constant communication was amazing and to be able to follow the process.

I am the President of IOT Systems. We were adding some web based capability to our core product, they were efficient to work with, on time deliveries, and met all budget expectations.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had worked with them before on other projects, what was key was they understood with very little effort on our part what we needed them to do.

They worked on something that is called a Mimic Panel that shows and modifies the switch positions in the system. They also developed a data plotting system to display measured data.

We worked with 2 people from their organization, there were others in the meetings but primarily we only worked with 2 people.

There were very few problems during this project.

We had weekly meetings, they stayed on schedule. The products worked as expected and were completed on time.

They required very little attention after project kick-off.

After reviewing several companies from other companies suggestions, we decided on Original Pixel due to their previous expertise, cost of project and ease of communication with them.

We had several meetings via phone and Skype. We were shown several different layouts and were in constant contact throughout the whole website design.

We worked mostly with the owner/developer throughout the process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been receiving customers phone calls and emails since the website went active. This is our first time and we are very pleased with the results

The owner/designer was in contact with regularly throughout the process. Very easy to reach out and receive answers to our questions. Suggestions were given throughout and were very helpful.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their knowledge and suggestions to help us decide on the design of the website. Also, very patient and quick to respond to our many questions. Also, the work was done in a very timely fashion

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can’t think of any improvements. We were very impressed and delighted with the whole process.

I’m the owner and president of an express, modern car wash in Pennsylvania.

What challenge were you trying to address with Specific Pixel?

The company’s previous owner hadn’t done any advertising, digital or otherwise. We had overhauled the branding, so we wanted our website to reflect that change and to be more visible online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us customize our WordPress site. We wanted the site to be simple, with straightforward navigation and information about our services. We also needed to clearly differentiate between what’s displayed on our site versus our physical property. In order to accomplish that, we incorporated a lot of videos and are in the process of launching a live feed. In addition to working on the site, they also collaborated with our management team to improve our SEO.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one member of their team.

How did you come to work with Specific Pixel?

They were referred to us, and it turned out that one of my employees knew their developer, Brandon Teller. I liked his previous work, and I trusted the recommendations, so we went with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

They worked with us from October 2017–March 2018. They also provide us with update support as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site’s been stable since the moment we launched it, and I have no complaints. We’ve seen an increase in customer traffic as a result, especially with out-of-town business. People are seeking us out because of the modern services we offer, and they’re learning about us online.

How did Specific Pixel perform from a project management standpoint?

I prefer to communicate by phone, and they were really accommodating about it. Anytime I had questions, they’d respond right away. If anything, I was slower at getting back to them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Brandon really thinks outside the box and comes up with innovative designs. He opened my eyes to the way a site should be laid out in order to appeal to customers. I really appreciated his suggestions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of. I’ve been so satisfied that I hired them to work with me on another project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them the basics of what you’re looking for, and let them return to you with ideas. They understand what’s attractive to customers and where to draw their attention.

We were impressed with their portfolio and were referenced by other businesses in the area. After speaking with their team we decided they were the right fit for what we needed.

They developed a website for me to accept bookings online and helped with me managing my booking schedule. They also helped with our google rankings and getting us listed on google maps which increased traffic to our website and our business in general.

We worked with three people total during our process. A graphic designer worked with us on our design and branding and a developer worked with us on coding and launching our website. We also worked with a project manager that ensured everything was completed on time that was my direct point of contact.

Bindr is a dating website specifically for bisexual individuals. I am a cofounder and run marketing and social media, as well as new user outreach and issues.

To create the website, web development and design, and the goal was to successful launch the application

SOLUTION

How did you select Original Pixel and what were the deciding factors?

I chose this vendor out of a large range of selections, because of their professionalism and experience

We scoped the project to build a dating platform for the bisexual community. They initially started us with designing the user flows and design of the platform. Once that was completed they worked on building the front end and backend system and data structures.

They scoped Laravel for the backend and added React, TailwindCSS and HTML5 for the front end technology used.

How many people from the Original Pixel team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The CEO, Brandon, was very helpful with making clear what to expect and timelines. We also worked with a designer and additional developer and always got any questions answered in a quick manner.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All of our outcomes are because of Original Pixel, without the website we would not be in business right now. They also showed us how to manage the website and make us feel confident in our technology.

Asana was the project management tool, as well as zoom for meetings and GitHub for code repositories. They were always on time or early for meeting and communicated any changes clearly and early.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their innovative ideas and helpfulness to go above and beyond made my startup company successful. They did more than just make the software, they helped build the company to fulfill its full potential.

We are overall very pleased with Original Pixel and their work and professionalism.
