I'm the Chief Innovation and Impact Officer for a national nonprofit that works to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ older people.

We were looking to explore a market of consumer paid service delivery, building on private foundation supported services that we currently offer.

We RFP'ed the project through Catalant, and interviewed a number of applicants.

The main roles where to validate key hypotheses, validate the market for a sustainable business and develop go-to-market options.

What was the team composition?

There was a project lead, and he brought in key subject matter experts on his team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They offered a number of key research statistics from quantitative and qualitative original research from their team. They also built a pilot program model, with recommendations on key questions that the pilot should seek to address.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were effective, keeping in touch with regular progress reports, and scheduling key results meetings when they had work product to share.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to synthesize all sorts of information was very impressive. The work products were very usable, with clear next steps for us to follow.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

I think they underestimated some of the time it would take to bring information together -- their original timeline was quite short, and we did need to extend it out to meet the full scope.
