BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

My startup company is an advertising company aimed at the bar and restaurant industry so all bars and restaurants can advertise on one common digital medium rather than individual Facebook pages or websites.

I am the sole owner/employee and have been working alone on this project for the past several months to establish a solid foundation to build upon.

I hired Oraxtech to bring my mobile app ideas to life and create a user interface that will be the backbone of my business.

What were your goals for this project?

My main goal for this project was to build a mobile app that was user-friendly and simple to navigate for consumers and simple to use for bar and restaurant staff, to ultimately help bolster their business revenue through increasing food and alcohol sales by creating a more effective means of advertising to consumers.

How did you select OraxTech?

I searched online for quite some time to find someone to work with. Oraxtech had great reviews and I reached out to them. They were polite, responsive, and professional so I decided to go with them.

After a few phone calls and talking to the staff, having them explain how the whole process works in detail, and establishing a good starting relationship with them, I decided to use them for my project.

Oraxtech and I created a mobile app for iOS and Android. The app allows bars and restaurants to advertise their food & drink specials, entertainment, or anything else they might be hosting for that day.

The app uses your geolocation to populate bars and restaurants around your area that are currently hosting events that display as descriptive pins on your map. Upon clicking on a pin, it expands to reveal more information on the food/drink/entertainment special that is associated with that establishment.

All content that appears on the map is also all user-generated data and is only active for 8 hours before being removed to maintain data integrity.

What was the team composition?

Throughout the project, it has been me and the two co-founders of the company in continuous communication. Between the three of us, we have been able to work, communicate, and effectively produce solid results.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app has only been live on both stores for download for about 2 weeks. The app is already approaching 700 registered users and many more downloads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow has always been very smooth and on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was thoroughly impressed by Oraxtech's ability to take my general direction & relative ideas and bring them to life exactly as imagined. They always provide options for you to pick from when needed, and will make changes to something if you deem it necessary.

Even when I thought what I was asking might not be entirely possible because something like this hasn't been developed before, they still deliver nonetheless. Even when bugs/issues arise(which are always expected in any development) they are quick to begin working on the issue to find a resolution.

Very impressed with their work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't have any complaints or constructive criticism to give about Oraxtech at this time.

I had an idea for a mobile app and decided to give the project to Orax Technologies.

What were your goals for this project?

This was an MVP app, to validate my idea.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I found them through Fiverr, and after several discussions with other companies as well, decided Orax was the best fit at the time.

Describe the project in detail.

We had several discussions, I provided a Sketch file of the UX/UI, the logo and colors. Orax built the app using React Native.

What was the team composition?

I only engage with Bilawal.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Can't really tell right now if it's a failure/success, because it's an app for the travel industry, and by the time we finished the project, there was a global pandemic.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was okay, not good nor bad.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The initial discussions on understanding the idea were good. That was the reason I chose Orax above other vendors.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I have about 20 years of product/technical/software engineering background, and what I found could be improved was:

1. Orax didn't always consult me on solutions to problems, and sometimes it is different than I had expected.
2. I asked for code repository access so I can look at the code as we progressed, but never got it.
3. I felt like sometimes I was made to do the QA, as I was the one finding the most bugs. Things should pass QA before releasing to client.
4. There is no documentation whatsoever after the project completed.

I expected there should be at least documents on architecture, infrastructure, database, API, class diagrams, HLD, LLD.

They needed to create an app with 2 models in one application.

I found them from Fiverr.com and checked out their portfolio and saw the online reviews.

The project was about workers on demand. Workers and work providers had to be synchronized in one application.

What was the team composition?

The team composition was fantastic, everything went through Bilawal. He's a very communicative yet responsive person.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the moment, our project is on "freeze" due to COVID-19 precautions. I will definitely share the success of it once things return to normal.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was great. We came with a project on the table and many adjustments had to be made and we got many great ideas from Orax.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Communication and the effort were very impressive about this company. They take the project like their own which is wonderful.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We did not encounter any which they could improve on. Keep up the great work folks.
