Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a systems analyst for The International Development & Research Centre (IDRC). We help developing countries do research to improve their life. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with OPIN?

We needed to create new sub-websites for different programs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They have done several projects with us so far, creating websites. Some of our programs have their own website, independent from the official IDRC website. We generally create a set of requirements for them to build the website.

They’ve done testing and received feedback from the program people to come up with the final product for each website they build. To maintain continuity across the board, the websites are built on Drupal.

What is the team composition?

There are at least five people, including a project manager, developers, and a CSS specialist.

How did you come to work with OPIN?

They were one of the candidates on the list of approved providers.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2017 and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The websites they’ve built are working very well. Their work is 100% good quality. I’ve got no complaints with anything they’ve provided to us.

How did OPIN perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, they do well in managing the projects. We did have one hiccup, but it was fixed by a change in project manager.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have good technical knowledge and skill. They provide top-of-the-line work and we are very satisfied with the end product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Compared to other vendors we’ve experienced; they are a bit more monetized. For example, if we ran out of project money, their work stopped immediately while we raised more funds.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you have an open budget, you shouldn’t have any problems.
