Open Velocity delivered a 10-week long Strategy Catalyst training programme for 5 senior members of the Evoluted marketing team and covered the four core topics of: strategic foundations and marketplace dynamics, formulating marketing strategy, customer acquisition, retention and loyalty and finally, evaluating performance and knowing when to change strategy.
This was then followed up with training for our 10 marketers covering best practice reporting and performance evaluation based on building greater levels of insight and commentary into our established monthly reporting process.
This extra training module, which ran over 3 weeks took the team through:
A deep dive into reporting best practice, from managing stakeholder requirements to how to build narrative and insight into each reportl;
A power hour (1-hour practical session applying what’s been taught in the previous session) where the team reviewed and critiqued an old report they’d worked on, highlighting areas for improvement;
A final practical workshop where, in small teams, the group responded to a brief requiring them to create a new report applying the learnings from sessions 1 and 2.
This was bolstered with two follow up sessions with Heads of Department for ongoing discussion and development of our internal processes.

Hosting and managed services provision is a saturated landscape, with major players taking dominant positions in an increasingly commoditised market. While we had previously grown through customer referral and historic marketing, we had a concern that our positioning and messaging had become increasingly undifferentiated in a sea of sameness.
While our website had some visibility on best-fit customers, we we're not optimised via our website or marketing to attract these customers - lacking clear messaging that firmly captured the attention of a target audience. We engaged Open Velocity to help refine our audience targeting and create a positioning strategy to put our business’ strengths front and centre while standing out from the crowd. This positioning project provided the foundations for the redevelopment of the 34SP website.

We wanted to create a marketing strategy that would match our ambitious growth aspirations and articulate exactly how we would define, reach and convert our best-fit customers. We did this through a number of ways, relying on data and research to make improvements to our local SEO strategy, make improvements to the user experience of the overall website and increase visibility - both organically and through paid search.

Performance across the website increased substantially, and a joint strategy making improvements to both organic search and paid search increased site traffic and visibility across key search engines.

If there was a time when they couldn't jump on a call straight away, they would come back with a thought-out and helpful response via email and then arrange a follow-up call, if required, later on.
