Onebite has helped increase awareness for our company in the US and UK. They have helped build relationships with key journalists, proactively brought story ideas to us, and drafted award submissions and articles.

The Onebite team is extremely responsive. We work with them via Slack, and it feels like they are just an extension of our internal team. They have great judgment and I trust them explicitly. Due to the time difference, they know when to wait for the internal comms leader and when to go directly to spokespeople due to the deadline. They're true assets to our corporate communications program and the most proactive PR firm I have ever worked with. Being a high tech company, if hard to find PR firms that understand your market, they just get it!

I am impressed by how technical the team working on our account is and how engrained in the open-source tech community they are. I also love how responsive they are. Even with the time difference, it just feels like we are always in lockstep.

I really can't think of anything.

We have engaged onebite to serve as our PR and marketing agency for the UK region. Their overall purpose has been to help us gain local media exposure and brand awareness. They’ve provided us with media relations services by interacting with the press and identifying media opportunities. The team has helped connect our stories with local media outlets to publish them in various channels. They’ve helped write and publish stories about our customers, products, and company.

We’ve primarily interacted with three team members from onebite.

Our company has worked with onebite since before I joined, so I’m not sure how we initially came to partner with them.

Our company has worked with onebite since July 2017, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Although I don’t have any specific metrics to share, I’ve been doing this for a long time. Finding a PR agency that understands technology and effectively communicates it with readers can be difficult. The onebite team has a unique ability to understand technology and find creative ways to share deeply technical stories with readers. 

Since working with them, we’ve consistently received a significant amount of media coverage in the UK region. Furthermore, we’ve chosen to continue the relationship with them because they’ve done such a good job thus far. Even though there tends to be a lot of turnover between agencies and clients, we’ve worked together for about five years, which is its own success metric.

How did onebite Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

The onebite team has met deadlines and managed the project effectively. We’ve met for weekly calls, and they’ve regularly updated us on progress via email and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed by onebite’s strong relationships with technology reporters in the UK and their ability to understand technology and present it to readers concisely.

I have nothing onebite could improve on.

I recommend communicating clearly and sharing your goals with the onebite team. They’ll work hard to achieve your goals if you provide clear guidance and direction.

What was the scope of their involvement?

onebite Ltd handles our press communications work and supports some of our events. They create press releases, liaise with us regarding press comments, and get our articles published in various media outlets. Their team also helps us build our brand.

We work closely with Mark (Head of Content & Account Director), who acts as our company’s chief communications officer.

They were the ones who reached out to us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with onebite Ltd in February 2020, and our collaboration is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in our monthly user statistics from all the press that onebite Ltd has helped us gather; we’re in the media at least once or twice a month. While our stats are significantly down this year, which is disappointing, they were very significant through 2020–2021.

Moreover, we’ve been able to generate 100,000 impressions per month on social media. We do the work ourselves in this area, but their team contributes to the success through the content.

They’ve generally done a good job from a project management perspective. For communication, we mainly interact via phone calls and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re most impressed with their sector knowledge and industry connections.

onebite Ltd should add more people to their staff to boost industry knowledge.

Marketing Manager Owen Mumford Pharmaceutical Services. We design, develop and manufacture injection devices for the pharmaceutical industry.

For what projects/services did your company hire onebite Ltd, and what were your goals?

With the absence of face-to-face meetings and conferences in the past years, we needed to increase our digital presence. In addition, we needed a way to show our customers the technical details of our products and exactly how they function whilst maintaining the security of the information.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

OneBite were our retained agency but we needed to rethink our approach to promoting our product portfolio to our customers in the digital world .

One Bite created a secure microsite containing a high level of technical data and with complex detailed visuals showcasing our products. This used animations, product renders, videos organised within a site that had simple navigation.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The account director lead the project supported by the account manager but we also worked directly with members of the digital content team to ensure we were all aligned on the deliverable.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The technical microsite has been extremely well received by our customers providing real added value to our product offering and creating a true differentiator in our market. We are also able to track visitors to the site and then provide additional support by following up in person helping to progress the sales process.

OneBIte always have an open and friendly style with frequently communication and updates. We also have a regular weekly update video call to review all our live projects. Communication is always timely to ensure projects are delivered to schedule.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Having worked with the team at OneBite team for 4 years, I was impressed by their can-do attitude and willingness to collaborate and deliver the right outcome to support our business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Now face to face meetings are back we are looking at ways to allow closer engagement between the agency and both our marketing and product development teams.

I oversee PR and communications for a high-tech data analytics company based in Silicon Valley with offices around the world. As a data analytics software vendor, ours is highly saturated and competitive market. We are pre-IPO with big aspirations in the coming years.

Our company has phenomenal technology, customers, and investors, but we have not invested heavily in marketing and PR historically and so we have very little brand visibility or recognition. We partnered with onebite to help us establish a presence in the UK market and beyond. More specifically, our current goals are twofold:

1. build overall awareness for our company;
2. build specific awareness amongst a very distinct audience (data architects and engineers) about the problem/s we solve.

How did you select this vendor?

Recommendation from US agency of record. From the very first interaction it was clear this team would bring tremendous strategic and operational value.

Onebite is our primary interface and liaison with UK media. They they help us identify opportunities, develop material and spokespeople to capitalize on said opportunities, and then go out and make it happen. In addition to media relations, they also help us produce thought leadership content and generally keep a finger on the pulse of the industry - seeing and acting upon emerging trends, as well as seeding/spurring our own.

Three primary: Account director, head of content, and account manager I am very pleased to report that the people we work with every day are the same people who were involved in the initial pitch and onboarding (i.e. no bait and switch, which is all too common with PR firms).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team consistently delivers more than expected - from strategic guidance to actual PR results. They have and nurture relationships with the right people and it makes a huge difference. They are also especially great at finding ways to get extra mileage out of the work we do, which I love. I have never been more pleased with a PR agency's results.

Team is direct, grounded, efficient and motivated. They tell me what I need to hear; not just what I want to hear. They have a strong grounding on what's practical and that makes them very strategic. They work fast and are creative about getting the most out of our efforts. And they are always pushing us (and themselves) to do more and better. This team is a true strategic and operational partner. It's exactly what I need.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They consistently deliver big wins while never resting on their laurels. It's refreshing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

This team is literally 10x better than any other PR teams I've worked with in the US.

They were already our vendor of record when I started leading the team.

They spent lots of time learning our business and key domain experts internally. They already were well versed in the space we play in, so that was a bonus. We meet weekly to review activity and plans. They provide regular updates to us around press pickup and comment opptys.

We have an account manager and an account director.

In general, we need to stay top of mind with the key industry leaders / influencers and they help us with this on a consistent basis.

They were a pleasure to work with and extremely professional; not to mention patient. We get a weekly rollup and comm with them via Slack also.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really understand the space we are in. Down to each technology and the capabilities - it's really impressive. This makes it much easier for us to relate to the more technical analysts/journalists/influencers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. They are very organized and effective at what they do.
