I’m a senior product marketing manager at Paxos, a blockchain infrastructure company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Olivine Films?

We needed a company that could provide us with video production support. We power the crypto functionality in PayPal’s app, and we were looking to showcase that functionality through video.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired all Olivine Films to capture a testimonial video with PayPal. We started the engagement with a series of kick-off meetings, wherein we worked on the script and discussed the things that would go on the video. After that, their team went to PayPal’s San Francisco location to shoot footage. They brought in actors and captured all of the content we needed. They also did a screen recording of the actual app that we were looking to showcase.

They delivered a final product in the form of a one-minute testimonial video as well as three shorter video clips that we could use for social.

How did you come to work with Olivine Films?

We found Olivine Films through a referral. We did an RFP process with multiple vendors but ended up selecting Olivine Films because of their experience and cost. And we really enjoyed their team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $30,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May–August 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our homepage banner that we advertise this testimonial video on has been viewed by over 100,000 site visitors. The video has been really impactful to our business - it shows a lot of credibility and experience for our platform. Our blog post, where the video was promoted, had nearly 2000 views in the first month. This video is a core asset for our crypto brokerage product and lives on that product web page. We got raving reviews on the video from the highest level, the Paxos, including the CEO. So we were very happy with the outcome.
 
How did Olivine Films perform from a project management standpoint?

Olivine Films performed well in terms of project management. They stayed within budget, and they communicated really well with us. They were also incredibly responsive throughout the engagement, which made for an efficient workflow.

We typically communicated through email and video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the work we got was markedly better than some of the other videos we've received from other vendors. I’m impressed with Olivine Films’ professionalism, empathy, patience, and exceptional communication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to take advantage of their availability. Make sure that if they want to meet for a video call, jump on with them. It's very easy to get things done that way.

I was the director of customer and employee experience at Aruba. We provide wired and wireless networking equipment. We use our technology to sell a smart workplace experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Olivine Films?

We needed someone to produce a testimonial video detailing our processes and creations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Olivine created a 4-minute testimonial video for us. We first wrote the script, which was a collaborative effort between their team and ours. Afterward, the team pretty much managed the entire video shoot. Most of the talent was from our internal team, but Olivine found additional talent for us. Meanwhile, the team sourced the whole film crew, including directors, lighting and sound specialists, hair and makeup, and camera operators. 

The Olivine team then edited and delivered the final video. It showcased the technology we created and how we used them to create a smart building using IoT technology.

What is the team composition?

We primarily interfaced with Raechel (Managing Partner & VP of Product Marketing) and Ashley (Founder & VP of Brand Marketing). On a shooting day, there were around 8–9 people involved.

How did you come to work with Olivine Films?

They were referred by one of our customers. We hired Olivine because we loved the final product that they delivered for our customer.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–July 2019. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The video was high in quality, and we loved it. It got a lot of internal praise when we used it for our sales team, internal events, trade shows, and so on. It also did great on our social media, where it gathered a lot of views. The Olivine team did an excellent job of understanding what we were trying to accomplish. They presented the content using language and angles that made it appealing. Overall, the video they created was a very valuable asset that lasted for a long time.

How did Olivine Films perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a fantastic job with project management, especially considering the tight timeline we pushed. We asked Olivine to finish it incredibly fast, and although they weren’t sure they could do it, they delivered within a short timeframe. The team was just terrific.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The project went by so easily. Even though we didn’t know the team very well and we had to work quickly, the process was really smooth. Olivine never panicked despite the short deadline, and it was just so easy to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they could’ve done better.

Understand your vision so you could articulate it well. If you have a clear idea of what you want, they’ll deliver it the way you envisioned.
