Engaged to address critical design system challenges and support our strategic product evolution. The scope included a comprehensive audit and consolidation of our fragmented component library and design system, which had become inconsistent across our digital products. They worked closely with our team to establish a unified design foundation that would support both our immediate needs and our long-term multi-platform strategy.

Key deliverables included a rebuilt component library delivered through Figma, with standardized components and design patterns that brought consistency to our digital ecosystem. They facilitated collaborative review sessions where they walked us through proposed changes, explained the rationale behind design decisions, and actively incorporated our feedback into their work. Beyond the tangible design files, Oba Studio provided strategic recommendations for platform unification and user experience solutions that addressed complex interaction patterns. Their deliverables were thorough, well-documented, and positioned us to scale our design efforts more effectively moving forward.

End-user efficiency

The most significant outcome was the consolidation of our previously fragmented design system into the base of a unified, cohesive component library that brought consistency across our digital products. This eliminated design debt and established a scalable foundation for future development. Our design and development teams now have a single source of truth to start building on top of, which will streamline our product development process and reduce inconsistencies in the user experience.

Beyond the tangible deliverables, Oba Studio elevated our strategic thinking around design systems and multi-platform approaches. Their questioning and collaborative process helped us clarify our product vision and make more informed decisions about user experience challenges. The quality of their work and the strategic frameworks they introduced have positioned us to move faster on future initiatives while maintaining design consistency.

Oba Studio's project management was excellent throughout the engagement. They delivered all items on time and maintained strong communication cadence with our team. From the start, they demonstrated a proactive approach by asking thoughtful questions and taking initiative on tasks without needing constant direction. They truly hit the ground running and quickly integrated into our workflow.

What impressed us most was their responsiveness to our needs and feedback. During the collaborative review sessions, they were receptive to our input and demonstrated flexibility in incorporating changes while still advocating for best practices and user-centered design principles. They struck the right balance between being consultative and being execution-focused.

Their questioning process was invaluable in helping us clarify our vision and make better-informed decisions. Many agencies can execute on a brief, but few can elevate your thinking in the process.

Combined with their strong design craft and user-centered approach, this made them feel like a natural extension of our team rather than a vendor.

Oba Studio (Will specifically) was tasked with creating the foundation brand guidelines, kit and design system for our company. This included: 

• Logo
• Brand colour palette + fonts
• Sample mobile and web screens 
• DS Basics

This was all one figma design file and a corresponding google drive folder with exports of all the important bits (this is what we explicitly asked for).

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Logo, Brandguide, and documentation for Product DS & Marketing. Al of it was fantastic and exactly what we hoped for. All deliverables were met.

Everything was on time, ready to go and easily accessible. They responded to our change requests in a timely and professional way.

Will's eye for brand design is world class. We gave him something that was generally out of his comfort zone and his ability to put himself in the shoes of our customers to design something they will love truly showed.
