What challenge were you trying to address with Nuventure Connect?

We needed help with application development for our website and backend.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nuventure provided us with the website development and built our backend control panel, using Jekyll, PHP, and Python for the project. The team adopted the site from a previous developer who had left; they learned the process and maintained the site for us. The site is a marketing and lead generation website for SEO optimization where users can log in and manage their services on the backend. The team helped us add a blog and a knowledge base.

Additionally, Nuventure provided us with ad-hoc development roles monthly, helping us fill positions we were trying to hire for or do in-house.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 3–4 teammates from Nuventure, including a project manager, a developer, and a member of their executive team. At certain times, we had 2–3 developers helping us. 

How did you come to work with Nuventure Connect?

I had used Nuventure in my prior companies. When we acquired this business, I reached out to them because we had some projects we needed to do quick development on. For this project, we reached out to their sales and executive teams, and they were able to facilitate the contract signing to help us. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project lasted from September 2021–March 2022. Even though the project is completed, we still contract with them for updates and maintenance as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The metric for Nuventure’s success was their quick response and on-time competition of the project. We don’t have technical metrics. 

How did Nuventure Connect perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager performed well, and the team stayed within our budget. We used Jira for project management and Slack and Zoom for communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nuventure has been doing this for a long time. I employed them for the first time around 2009, so they have been doing custom software development for at least 13 years, and their executive team has remained the same. Their expertise was why I trusted them with this job. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think they need to improve anything.

NetProtect provides a wide range of privacy and security solutions for businesses and consumers. Customers trust us to keep their personal information and business data, private and secure. I am the VP of Marketing.

For what projects/services did your company hire Nuventure Connect?

The Nuventure Connect team created an event marketing tool for NetProtect that allows to easily collect and nurture leads captured at events. The Nuventure team created a white label web application that can be used by any of our privacy brands, at any event.

What were your goals for this project?

Our project required a web portal - from both an admin perspective, and a user - that allowed us to nurture leads. The portal needed to be easy to use, with a good user experience. We also needed to be able to communicate with users through email.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had previously worked with Nuventure in the past. The decision was made by the SVP and VP of Marketing.

The Nuventure team wireframed from the project and handled all development from start to finish.

What was the team composition?

We worked with the Project Manager and developer over a period of roughly 45 days to develop the web portal.

The solution was launched on time, and met our needs.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our project manager communicated with us through both Slack and email.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive aspect of Nuventure is their ability to quickly understand the requirements an execute, without requiring significant hand holding. Their ability to take an idea, understand the use case, and execute is remarkable - and then their communication skills really set them apart from competitors.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I think it would be difficult to get any better than they already are. They were excellent from start to finish.

I’m the innovation manager at MegaGroup Trade Holding, a wholesale distributor for water technology products. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nuventure Connect?

We needed a partner who could help with our digitization strategy and an IoT project. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nuventure Connect has been developing our B2B and B2C e-commerce platform and knowledge-based apps in both iOS and Android. For the IoT project, they've helped us update our devices and turn them into smart devices. They’ve also done some embedded programming, cloud programming, and edge computing; they even built a dev application layer, which integrates with our ERP system. The team uses PHP, Python, and Embedded C for the projects.

For the e-commerce platform work, Nuventure Connect is part of a larger team, but they’ve been doing the IoT project independently, building everything from scratch. They’ve also helped us choose the best apps and hardware for the project.

Beyond those tasks, they also do server monitoring and ensure our apps are deployed correctly. They have a design team that does computer-aided design (CAD) and provides content management and editing services.

What is the team composition?

The team consists of about 15 people across project management, development, and design.

How did you come to work with Nuventure Connect?

A few friends recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about €250,000 (approximately $280,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We partnered in November 2017, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We generate about €100,000 of revenue a year, and around 35% of that comes from the e-commerce platform that Nuventure Connect helped build. They made the platform faster and reduced how much money we spent on it. They also helped us get more visibility in the European market.

How did Nuventure Connect perform from a project management standpoint?

They have daily sprints and try to follow up with us after every meeting. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is fantastic. I can reach them anytime I need to, and they’re highly flexible. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They spend quite a bit of time understanding project scopes and requirements, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does slow down the workflow.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If you’re an organization that revolves around physics and math, they may need more engineers that understand those subjects.

We needed a platform where projects/borehole sites were visible on a map. Simultaneously we needed to have the contributions by investors and other fundraisers to be shown on the platform. Nuventure was helpful in the design of the platform but also helped with advising on a PSP provider. They support us by designing all kinds of projects in water treatment. They do this by making cad drawings and giving technical support so they are very wide experienced.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a website which was simple to access and contained a trendy look. We wanted to help the companies who have a relationship with us in finding the right sustainable solutions!

It is an ongoing project in designing water orientated solution in various sectors like garden, agricultural irrigation, livestock, pool and geothermal. We were assisted by  2 developers. 3 designers and a project manager.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our program is still to start in the coming months. So far feedback on the webpage has been very positive. In the last few years they made it possible to design more than 400 gardens with efficient, sustainable irrigation. A job very well done!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was extremely effective because we communicate a lot in teams from Microsoft to be aligned. We worked in 2 week shifts in which problems were tackled. After testing we moved on to the next developments. This led to a fruitful development.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their flexibility and ability to translate your thoughts into development was impressive. 

Are there any areas for improvement?

Extremely proactive, despite different working time zones. Their partnership has been tremendous. Of course there are always areas of improvement by training them to do their service in other areas as well but that depends on us giving them training in those sectors so they are able to support us again whit their way of working.
