What was the scope of their involvement?

Nordic Web Team has developed our Magento module for our payment services so that our customers can leverage Magento as a platform. We have our own APIs that enable our merchants to connect to our services from a distance in Adobe, and the team has configured our APIs in Magento with PHP.

The team has built our payment solution upon that platform so that customers using Magento can also use our services. The team is also maintaining and continuously developing the platform according to our needs and updates.

What is the team composition?

I’m mostly in contact with the project manager.

They were a recommendation through networking.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent between 100,000–500,000 Swedish Krona.

We started working together in February 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Magento is a complex platform, and the team relieves us of much of the technical support. Our merchants can contact them directly, which is great. They are very friendly and familiar. They are not many people, but they are very competent. They are great at leveraging the PHP code language.

How did Nordic Web Team perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet deadlines and stay on budget. The team is easy to deal with, communicative, and transparent. They use Jira and GitHub for project management, and we communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In a jungle of different payment providers, they put a lot of weight on personal relationships. They try to understand our wants and needs and give feedback on our services, which has been very useful for our development. The team is rich in the industry, very active on forums, and their soft skills are very impressive.

No, they’re established at this point and are part of us.

We needed help developing and hosting our e-commerce platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nordic Web Team provides development and hosting services for our e-commerce platform. We currently use Magento, and the team advises us on different technology solutions, technology stacks, and integrations with other modules and plug-ins. They've been a good partner in the advisory process. We dig deep into how we're going to develop and secure our business and get the most out of our technology solutions and integrations. When needed, they also help us with the UX/UI design of our site.

We always provide Nordic Web Team with documentation and briefs in advance. We hold discussions before setting up the existing platform and implementing changes and other technical services.

What is the team composition?

We work with 5–6 people from Nordic Web Team, including Jens, Hans, and 2–3 developers. We also work with Jonas, who is skilled at integrations.

We found them online and contacted their existing customers.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $100,000–$150,000 per year.

We started working with them in July 2014, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Nordic Web Team has been a very good partner. With their help, the performance of our website has been extremely good, and we rarely have any downtimes. We work closely with Nordic Web Team to ensure that the website is up and running, fast, and delivers good quality to customers. Bugs and crashes have been very rare, but when they happen, we have very good discussions with their team to solve them as soon as possible. We don't have a 24/7 service agreement, but they're flexible to help us if we have any problems.

How did Nordic Web Team perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management works pretty well. We rarely do budgets, but we sometimes estimate the costs for bigger projects and follow them up. We have an agreement to work on an hourly basis, and within the project, they notify us if they see something that might be more expensive than we agreed on. Overall, we have a mutual understanding of our needs.

We communicate via Microsoft Teams and use Jira as a project management tool. All developers use the Jira platform, so we can quickly reach them once we open a ticket or project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nordic Web Team has a close relationship with their customers. Also, their developers are easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wanted a proactive partner, and they've improved greatly in that regard over the last 5–7 years.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a mutual understanding of what is good for both parties. You can't just rely on Nordic Web Team to be the absolute cheapest, fastest, and best partner. You also have to make some effort to make it work.

Akeneo PIM (Product Information Management) is a solution that centralizes and manages all product information in one place. This includes descriptions, images, technical specifications, and other attributes necessary to present products effectively across various channels, such as an e-commerce website.
