Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the chief architect at a financial services company. We provide cross-border payment solutions, foreign exchange, microlending, digital wallets, and B2B payments. We serve individuals and businesses in over 30 countries with brands like Unimoni, Xpress Money, and Direcpay.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nimbus TechKnox?

We needed help with the generation of Terraform scripts to fully automate the deployment of our AWS infrastructure. We also needed assistance in choosing the best approach for metrics collection, visibility, costs, and alerts for our mission-critical services. Additionally, we required the creation of CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitLab, troubleshooting of production incidents, and technical support outside office hours.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nimbus TechKnox has been assisting us with various projects in different teams across multiple locations, including the UAE, India, and the USA. Their work involves generating IaC for AWS platforms for multiple projects and teams, creating CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitLab (.NET, Java, Angular), and developing Grafana dashboards for resource consumption, metrics, costs, and more. They also handle health checks, alerts on failures, and Slack messages for breached thresholds on defined metrics.

Moreover, Nimbus TechKnox has been responsible for complex network configurations, including VPN, VPC peering, and private links. They have also assisted us with the PCI/DSS compliance process.

What is the status of this engagement?

Nimbus TechKnox started providing services to us in December 2024. Various projects are still ongoing, and we have no end date planned. DevOps is an ongoing project that has no specific end date, but each phase is planned with a start and end date, and all phases have been completed on time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Nimbus TechKnox has helped us meet the very tight deadlines imposed by the business, external vendors, auditors, product, and project managers. They have completed the creation and maintenance of our AWS infrastructure with automated pipelines in record time. Nimbus TechKnox has assisted developers from local build and deployment scripts (Docker, Helm charts, Bash) all the way up to automated pipelines with release management. They have also helped with capacity planning.

Moreover, they have provided high availability even outside office hours for very specific situations and weekends. We have seen proven results with no errors or rework needed.

We have available environments for developers to deploy new services, hosted web applications, and an ever-growing set of functionalities. There are dashboards uploaded, and alerts are triggered when expected. There has been measurable progress every day, and it is reported in detail.

Developers can progress much faster with an environment hosting all the services, required tools, aggregated and queryable logs, and elastic capacity. Nimbus TechKnox has carefully planned all of this to keep costs under control.

How did Nimbus TechKnox perform from a project management standpoint?

The delivery time has been impressive and has exceeded expectations. Nimbus TechKnox is always available, and communication is clear. A detailed plan is always communicated before execution, and every step is clearly documented and explained. We primarily communicate via Slack and Teams.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for them to improve. No challenge is big enough for Nimbus TechKnox's experience.
