What challenge were you trying to address with Neverland?

We hired Neverbland to help us build the website for our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

NEVERBLAND built our website and was involved in the design as well — we work collaboratively, so they've given us lots of advice and were very helpful to the company. Regarding the development of the product, they managed the look and feel of it — they built everything from scratch.

The platform is a booking system for event suppliers, like caterers and photographers. The whole website was designed to be built with good practices to ensure that we were in a good position for SEO. The whole thing was very well organized, and they set us up for success in those areas.

Currently, they provide ongoing consulting.

We work with Scott (CEO), a project manager, and five developers.

How did you come to work with NEVERBLAND?

They were recommended to me by someone. After that, we met them and liked them because we had heard good things about them.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent £100,000–£150,000 (approximately $122,000–$184,000 USD) with them so far.

What is the status of the engagement?

We began our partnership in 2016 and completed the project in 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They built the entire platform, and since then, we've gone on to raise $10 million through the site. They've also done an outstanding job making the first version and improving it to make it good to use.

How did Neverbland perform from a project management standpoint?

The project is well managed; they deal with delays or problems very well. Regarding tools, we use JIRA, Trello, and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're the most professional people for this job — they seem lovely people who genuinely care about the project.

Are there areas they could improve?

No feature was disappointing or frustrating; it's all done very professionally.

I’m the co-founder and director of Peak Moods Ltd, a functional beverage brand. We make mood-enhancing drinks focusing on creative individuals. Our brand is on a mission to help people think clearer and feel better. We sell our product online and through retail points.

What challenge were you trying to address with NEVERBLAND?

The challenge we faced was turning our concept into something that would have market value. We wanted to address how to clarify our message, put it to market, and turn it into an actual business that works.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a rough idea of our brand, and NEVERBLAND helped us put it together; they’ve helped us create our visual and verbal identity. The team has also helped us develop business and commercial strategies. Initially, we briefed them on developing our digital strategy to help grow the brand online. Then, they advised us on what stages of the brand’s lifecycle we’d need to invest in and where to prioritize those investments. We started with a workshop to help us understand the business needs and digital consumer requirements. 

From there, the team followed up with a scope of work, which included brand architecture. They gave us recommendations based on our business. In another workshop, we worked collaboratively with NEVERBLAND to develop the strategy and tone of voice and to find the market size and how we wanted to reach them.

After that, the team started working on the website, including the UI/UX design. They started with a template, and now recommend where to go custom. They’ve also done some testing on the site. We’ve requested that the site’s user journey include a call for action for emails and visual cues and that the tone of voice is consistent throughout. 

Essentially, NEVERBLAND has been helping us develop our business in the digital world. Currently, we’re 12 months into a three-year engagement with them, and we continually check in with them to keep developing our website. They also advise us on marketing strategies, help us workshop ideas, and create focus groups. 

What is the team composition?

We work with 4–5 people from NEVERBLAND, including the CEO, CGO, and design director. Although more people are working on the project, I don’t speak with them directly. 

How did you come to work with NEVERBLAND?

We needed to find someone with the capacity and potential to do a really big job for us but also willing to start small with the strategy rather than go straight into the design. I saw that NEVERBLAND had built websites for companies I knew and worked with a couple of startups, so I contacted them. 

We had a one-hour call with the CEO, and he could see what we were trying to do. This was early on in our business, and he proposed a long-term plan where we could invest more money as we grew. I chose them because of their previous work and their results. My conversation with the CEO was also a factor because he was very aware of us and advised us not to overspend initially. 

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent £75,000 (approximately $89,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Lots of people have told us how good everything looks, and many customers think we’re bigger than we are thanks to NEVERBLAND’s work, proving there’s visual appeal and benefit to this engagement. We’ve seen a 151% growth in online sales. As a business, we now have a clearer understanding of who we are and what we’re doing.

We had worked with a cheaper agency, and though they were great, the custom website they built wasn’t right for us, and we’d already paid for it. Meanwhile, NEVERBLAND proposed starting with a simple template in test mode and then continually improving it; that’s why we trust them.

How did NEVERBLAND perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no problems or hold-ups with their project management. They always deliver ahead of time, so we never feel behind. We communicate via Slack, Google Meet, or in person. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with how pragmatic and commercially astute NEVERBLAND is. They always recommend the right solution and are very aware of what we need. The team is also collaborative along the way. There’s nothing clunky, complicated, or difficult about working with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are some areas where they could have helped us sooner. However, part of that is that they offer much more than it seems. Therefore, they could work on clarifying all the areas they can help. Since web development is only the tip of the iceberg, they should showcase what they can offer as a brand.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be really clear about what you want and need before working with any agency. Additionally, make sure you work with and build a good relationship with the commercial director at NEVERBLAND.
