**The Review** — Jul 15, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The collaborative approach and knowledge provided by Neuron helped successfully move the project forward and create a well-thought product. The team was communicative and excelled at managing expectations and timelines, and their overall execution was outstanding.
"“Neuron seemed to have the magic blend between operating strategically and executing tactically.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of Product Engineering at Jobble, an open marketplace for gig work in the US. We help both hiring companies and workers find work.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Our company sits in the middle of a multi-sided marketplace, meaning that we have people looking to hire and people looking to work, and we also have other partners wanting to add more sides to it for business opportunities. One of the opportunities we saw during COVID-19 was helping companies with high-volume hiring needs for hourly workers.

We had a lot of technical integrations in an API ecosystem supporting these partners, but we wanted to bring to market a customer-facing UX built on top of that API ecosystem. Still, we realized that we would move faster if we hired a third-party UI/UX designer like Neuron.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron helped us design the customer-facing UX we needed, also being responsible for the wireframing and final UI designs using Figma. They closely collaborated with our product and engineering teams, taking into consideration our existing brand requirements for their designs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Ryan (UX Lead & Co-Founder) and two principal designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

When we were looking for a partner, we wanted them to operate as part of our internal team as much as possible. We asked around our professional network, and Neuron came highly recommended. Additionally, our two co-founders were graduates of the same university as the founding team at Neuron, so they were already familiar. We did a lot of research on them still, and we ultimately hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February–July 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Having a partner that could collaborate with our team was very important because we needed to move quickly and take advantage of the market opportunity. Ultimately, the project was incredibly rewarding; the product we have today wouldn’t have been possible without their involvement. They pushed us to think about some of our harder problems in new ways, which ultimately led us to be in a much better place.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron was spot-on on managing expectations and meeting deadlines. They took the lead on the project, and we had multiple meetings throughout the week to keep us in the loop. Our collaboration was mostly through Figma and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron seemed to have the magic blend between operating strategically and executing tactically. They drove the project to become better and better every day while also demonstrating a tactical execution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them as an extension of your team and listen to their feedback. It all comes down to open communication and a collaborative approach from the beginning.

**The Review** — Oct 6, 2025

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron delivered high-quality designs in a short time, which impressed the client. The team fully understood the project, enabling them to meet the aggressive timeline and budget. Moreover, they communicated effectively via Slack and made significant contributions to the project quickly.
""The quality of Neuron's work was excellent.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the director of product growth at Geomagical Labs, a division of IKEA. We create the IKEA Kreativ product, which allows users to visualize furniture in their home before they buy it. Users can scan their space or use other spaces to explore IKEA products they might want to purchase.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We needed help telling the story of IKEA Kreativ to consumers in an easy-to-understand way while reflecting all the capabilities and power of our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Neuron provided UX/UI strategy and design services for us. Initially, they conducted an end-to-end audit of how we communicated IKEA Kreativ and how it fit into the world of IKEA. They conducted a comprehensive review and audit of the current situation and developed strategic recommendations based on the findings. After that, we chose several of our channels and platforms to focus on. Neuron delivered end-to-end customer journey maps and UX/UI designs for our web and mobile app products. They also delivered end-to-end user flows in a way that allowed us to test and learn in smaller steps. They synthesized the broad view of things and created designs and outputs that we could test in more discrete fashions to understand their impact.Neuron used Figma for their designs. What is the team composition? We worked with up to four teammates from Neuron, including a partner, a design lead, and two UX/UI designers. How did you come to work with Neuron? They came as a recommendation, which was a very powerful way to be comfortable with the provider. We saw that they quickly understood our challenges and many of the nuances. We were comfortable transitioning into more delivery projects based on that. How much have you invested with them?We spent a little over $100,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from June–September 2025.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The quality of Neuron's work was excellent. They considered everything that needed to be problem-solved and quickly reached a level of nuance that we had achieved over a year or more. Overall, they contributed value very quickly, which was great. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint? They delivered on time and on budget. We had a pretty aggressive timeline overall, and they met it. We used Slack for communication. What did you find most impressive about them? Our team was very impressed with the quality of their output, considering the speed at which they delivered it.Are there any areas they could improve? There were certain aspects of the product design process that were more nuanced or challenging in terms of how to approach them strategically. Onboarding was a good example. It wasn't that they weren't able to deliver the information well; it was just helpful to provide a little guidance on how they might think about the factors that would influence design strategy, customer behavior, and customer lifecycle management. However, it wasn't the kind of thing we would expect an outside design firm to have a deep basis in.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Spend a lot of time collecting context for them and providing that context to help them get up to speed as much as possible. Treat them like a new team member. Make a point of over-communicating, not just where you are today but how you got there and the things you've looked into.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm the EVP of products and services at a food and beverage research and consulting firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We needed to do a UX/UI refresh of our client-facing platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Neuron has conducted a design audit and provided recommendations and ideas around design. We've reviewed and agreed upon their approach, and the team is now executing the design and delivery. Neuron is creating a design system and reskinning different pages based on that system. We're also developing a new roadmap, so Neuron is designing new pages. They primarily use Figma. What is the team composition? We've worked with 4–5 teammates from Neuron, mainly during the audit, because they've conducted interviews and assessed design consistency. We currently have two UX designers working on the design system and updates. How did you come to work with Neuron? We found them on the internet. We were looking for companies that provided design services and reached out to several of them. We chose Neuron because they're highly focused on UI/UX design. We thought having a specialist in the space with that focus was interesting. Neuron excelled at providing us with a well-rounded proposal. How much have you invested with them? We've spent around $150,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working with them in October 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Although we don't have metrics yet, Neuron's audit has been excellent and thorough, and they've given us a lot of information and recommendations. We like the look and feel of what Neuron is doing. Once implemented, their design system will save us time, but we're still creating it.How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint? We have a dedicated team from Neuron, but other team members support them throughout the company, which has been beneficial. They communicate remarkably, giving us weekly updates and reprioritizing if something happens. Neuron has delivered on time and within budget. We use Google Meet, Slack, email, and Figma. What did you find most impressive about them?Neuron has experience in several industries. We're a B2B research platform, and Neuron has examples of other research platforms that need a lot of data visualizations. The team has a lot of experience in that area. Are there any areas they could improve?Neuron does a lot of Figma designs, but sometimes we need more prototypes for some of the designs. We'd like to see more of that because it helps in the development process, and they serve as a backup.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Be open about your needs, design style, focus areas, budget, and timelines so Neuron can work within those.

The team took the project seriously and explored different options to reach final recommendations. Neuron showcased impressive design skills and communicated well via Slack and weekly Zoom meetings.
""Neuron was good at thinking through complex challenges and translating their findings into high-quality designs.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm the chief experience officer of an environmental nonprofit organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenges were you trying to address with Neuron? We needed help redesigning our mobile app. Our goals were to improve the overall UX, create monetization opportunities, and increase the user base.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Neuron redesigned our mobile app. The team started with a discovery phase, interviewing us to understand our goals, challenges, and the app's current state. Then, Neuron created user personas during the strategy and monetization plan phase, where we defined the solution and opportunities. After that, we went into a scoping phase to determine the MVP and the features we wanted to implement within the budget. Finally, Neuron designed the app and created wireframes using Figma. What is the team composition? We worked with five teammates from Neuron, including Ryan, a monetization consultant, a UX researcher, a lead designer, and a senior designer. How did you come to work with Neuron? We found Neuron on Clutch and chose them because of their portfolio and work process. What is the status of this engagement? We worked with Neuron from November 2024–June 2025.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We just started implementing the app's design, but Neuron's work saved us time because we didn't have the capacity to do it in-house. The team helped us envision the design and monetization opportunities. Neuron took the project seriously and explored different options to reach final recommendations. The team went above and beyond with their work. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?Neuron delivered the work on time. Although we had to extend the budget and timeline by eight weeks, this wasn't out of the norm for us. The team communicated well with us via Slack and weekly check-ins via Zoom. What did you find most impressive about them?Neuron was good at thinking through complex challenges and translating their findings into high-quality designs that resonated with users. Neuron had amazing designers. Are there any areas they could improve? The monetization effort was lighter than we expected, and the team could've communicated better what was necessary to keep the project on scope.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Have a more involved project demo before starting the relationship with Neuron. The more information they have, the more accurately they can scope.

#### UI/UX Review & Design for Travel Management Company
**The Project**
- Services: Product Design, UX/UI Design
- Project size: Confidential
- Project length: Oct. - Dec. 2024

**Project Summary**: Neuron conducted a UX strategy review for a travel management company. The team assessed the client's SaaS platform, analyzed its UX, and created UI/UX designs and style guides using Figma and Power BI.

**Review Rating**: 5.0

- Client size: 10,001+ Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Apr 11, 2025

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron's work made the client's platform look more polished and professional, increasing its value. The team's excellent project management made the project go quickly — they were always on time and pulled in the right stakeholders. Their knowledge of UI/UX design and business strategy stood out.
"“They were adept at learning about our business.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m a travel consultant at a travel management company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We were developing a SaaS platform and needed a third party to audit our overall strategy and UX. We wanted to know how we could present our product to drive its adoption.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Neuron conducted what they call a Spark Review. They looked at all sides of the problem we were trying to solve, including who our user personas were, what our competition looked like, and the product's UX. They came back with a score and with recommendations to help us improve it.Neuron gave us an onboarding document that told us what they wanted to know about the product. We filled it out and had several discovery calls. They asked questions to understand the problem we were trying to solve and why we made our decisions. We also gave them access to the product to start their assessment. After the Spark Review, we hired Neuron for a second engagement. They designed the UI/UX and created the style guides for our product. They worked on Figma and Microsoft Power BI.What is the team composition? We worked with Mark, who was our project lead and contact, and a UI designer. They had a support team in the background. How did you come to work with Neuron? The product we were working with is very data-oriented, with data visualizations, tables, and data sets. I was looking for a UI/UX design firm with experience in data visualization. We had backend experience, but we needed frontend expertise. We also needed a team with experience in Microsoft Power BI that could keep us within its boundaries. I found Neuron and set up a call with Ryan. Based on their expertise, it seemed like a good fit. What is the status of this engagement? The first phase of the project lasted from October–November 2024. Then, we brought them back in November for phase two, and they finished in December 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Although we don't have quantitative results yet, our platform looked much more polished and professional when we went to market, which increased its value. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?Their project management was excellent; they managed us a bit. They were always on time and had a cadence that made the project go quickly. They pulled in the right stakeholders and asked the right questions. Because of how tight and quick their project management was, I'm about to use them again on an even bigger project. We used Microsoft Teams and Slack for our day-to-day work. They weren't rigid about needing to use their own systems for communication. We liked that we only worked with two teammates because we didn't want to engage with a company that brings 12 people to the table, which comes with added cost and complexity. They had a really small team and could turn work around very quickly because of it.What did you find most impressive about them?Their knowledge was impressive. They knew UI/UX design and business strategy. While they can't be experts in every industry, and travel management is very specific, they were adept at learning about our business. I was impressed by how much they knew about our company at the end of the first four weeks. Even now, as we're starting a new project, they bring that knowledge. Are there any areas they could improve? We're a bigger company than Neuron, so we had things to figure out regarding payment. They needed some payment upfront, and we had to go through a tad of red tape. However, this is understandable, and now that we've used them, we have no problem paying in advance.Do you have any advice for potential customers? The more you know about your goals and the more information you provide, the better the output will be.

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron's skills and flexibility received positive feedback from the client, and the team's design was well-received by the client's customers. The team was timely and communicative, adjusted well to urgent changes in the timeline, needed little oversight, and demonstrated experience using Figma.
""Neuron's design skills were impressive.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm a product manager at a renewable energy solutions company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We needed help with UI/UX design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We initially provided Neuron with a kickoff document where we defined the team and the significant views we wanted to be converted into the new design. We also provided some background on the features and functionality of our products. From there, Neuron reviewed our product and some of our competitors. The team also conducted one-on-one interviews with our users to learn what they liked and disliked about our product's UX and to define the user personas. We're currently implementing the design system they created. We may continue to work with them to do one-off designs for things we didn't get to.What is the team composition? We worked with four team members, including Ryan, a partner at Neuron; Matt, their creative director; and two designers. How did you come to work with Neuron?I wasn't involved in the initial hiring process. How much have you invested with them?We spent between $200,000–$900,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from August 2024–February 2025. Although we still contact Neuron for consulting.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We don't have any concrete results yet since we're currently in the implementation phase, but Neuron's designs looked great, and our clients were impressed with them when we shared the design results. Neuron helped us create a UI that was easier to use independently without much training. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?Overall, the team was very communicative, timely, and organized. We gave Neuron a lot of feedback in sessions, and they worked through everything without needing reminders. We used Figma to review the design work, communicated using Slack, and leveraged Google Docs. What did you find most impressive about them?Neuron's design skills were impressive. The team was experienced with Figma and created a user-friendly design system; they were user-oriented developers implementing the designs. We also appreciated their flexibility and willingness to work with us. We came up with a high-level project plan, but things came up that made things more urgent. Neuron quickly adapted and got things done. Are there any areas they could improve? It was hard to keep up with what reviews we still needed to do at a certain point versus what Neuron was editing. We had a lot of loose threads and decisions to come back to.It would've been helpful if the team had a tracking system to let us know how at risk we were of completing everything we wanted to complete by the end of the project schedule. An ongoing visibility system of the sprint schedules and the project's progress to stay on track would've been excellent.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Spend time before the project begins to document your system definitions for different user types and experiences. Expect to spend a lot of time to get the most out of the design project. Neuron can only help so much, but you must also be engaged.

""Our chemistry with Neuron was impressive.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m an executive of SmarterD. We're in the IT security management and enterprise software space.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We were trying to recreate our UX and modernize our platform. We wanted to bring it to the latest look and feel.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We talked Neuron through what we were looking for and explained the different personas our product had. We gave Neuron access to the product and walked them through how it would be used. The team played with the product and developed a complete redesign and design system, delivering the final output in Figma. What is the team composition?I worked with Ryan (UX Lead & Founding Partner) and Mark (Director of Strategy). Mark led the team from a management perspective, and Oleksandr (Senior UX Designer) helped with the detailed work. How did you come to work with Neuron? We searched online for several companies and came across Neuron. We looked at their previous work and reached out to the team. We initially met with Ryan and had chemistry. He came across well and made us feel comfortable. Plus, we're located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and Neuron is also in San Francisco. We also liked that the team had worked with several other startups and understood the culture. How much have you invested with them?We spent around $35,000–$37,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked with Neuron from April–May 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We were really impressed with the design system delivered by Neuron. The speed to market was very critical for us because we’re a product company, and customers were complaining about our UX design. We wanted a quick turnaround, and Neuron did a fabulous job. Additionally, Neuron took minimal of our time, which was significant because we didn't need to spend much time with the team to make the project happen, showcasing Neuron's amount of experience in creating this kind of design system. Neuron's work quality also showcased their experience because they knew what they were doing and demonstrated their professionalism from beginning to end. The team has good people, and I had no issues working with them. Starting from their leader, Ryan, and going through the chain of teammates, all came together very well to deliver the product in a short period of time and create value. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?Neuron didn't take too much of our time and met the aggressive deadline we gave them of six weeks. The team was able to get the input they needed. Neuron was proactive in our Zoom meetings and then returned with the output. We didn't spend too much time with the team, and they understood our system, our target market, and our user personas, which was the reason they could complete the project in such a short period of time. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Mark was exceptional. He was outstanding in the way he coordinated the entire project. He presented the project's output and drove us through the process. Mark was always there to support us while we implemented the design and answered our questions. What did you find most impressive about them? Our chemistry with Neuron was impressive and mattered to us; that was everything to the project's success. Neuron was very meticulous in fulfilling the scope of work. The team had the perfect combination of experience, work and output quality, and speed. Are there any areas they could improve?I can't think of anything Neuron could improve—they did everything they said they would.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Making a product work is a two-way street. If you give them the correct input and walk them through the details, you can get something done with them.

Neuron delivered work on time and on budget and provided regular updates via Slack and Zoom meetings every 2–3 weeks.
""Neuron had a very good grasp of UX patterns in general.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm the head of product at a nonprofit association whose mandate is to promote the development of the polymer ecosystem and other Web3 technologies. I work in the capacity of assisting with product development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We needed help with the overall UX of our onboarding flow. We didn't have the in-house capability to create UX for blockchain and Web3 technologies and wanted to rely on the expertise of an external service provider.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Initially, we had a brief contract negotiation with Neuron and the scoping process. Once the contract was signed, we had a kick-off session, and Neuron helped validate the user personas we already had, which were 1–2. This was a very small scoped project by design, and the team used Figma. What is the team composition? We worked with Mark (Director of Strategy) and Ika (Senior UX Designer). How did you come to work with Neuron? We found Neuron on a website that listed several different UX service providers. A team member created a shortlist of UX companies for me to review and contact for the RFP.How much have you invested with them?We spent approximately $10,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked with Neuron from April–May 2024. The engagement was two weeks long.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We're currently implementing Neuron's changes and expect to go live in a month. I was very pleased with Neuron's thoroughness in approaching the work. The team conducted a detailed analysis of our current onboarding flow across all devices and channels of web and mobile browsers on different systems. Neuron ensured that the entire end-to-end onboarding flow was considered when making the design recommendations without leaving empty journeys. The team considered every angle of our user journey, and there was a logical next step for all users entering the onboarding flow. We were happy with the result. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?Neuron delivered work on time and on budget. The team provided regular updates via Slack, and we also had Zoom calls every 2–3 weeks to review progress and ensure work was completed on time and on budget. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I want to shout out Mark and Ika's work. They did a fantastic job and were easy to work with. What did you find most impressive about them?Neuron had a very good grasp of UX patterns in general. Our project had a tight scope and didn't require large studies or discovery. Onboarding is a very well-known process, and Neuron applied the principles they had experienced to our unique situation. Neuron's understanding of common UX patterns and how to implement those learnings in a new setting for our ecosystem was their biggest strength. The team implemented good UX practices within our constraints for this Web3 project. Are there any areas they could improve?I can't think of anything Neuron could improve. Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?First and foremost, I recommend having a teammate within your company who can work with Figma because it's the tool of choice for many UX professionals. You'll get the most value if you use or can navigate the tool Neuron is most comfortable with. My second recommendation is to have a clear understanding of your goal. Be very specific about the outcome that you'd like to achieve instead of describing general problems.

**The Review** — Apr 30, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: Although the project was just launched, external and internal stakeholders have received Neuron’s work well. The team understands the customer needs and has delivered quality work on time. Moreover, they keep on top of the project and stand out for their dedication and excellent example.
"“Neuron always keeps their word and delivers on time, so they lead by example.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the VP of Global Digital for Enstall. Our company produces and sells mounting systems for solar installations, which are the systems that put solar panels on roofs. We’re active in the US and Europe with various business units and a mother company that must be aligned.I’m responsible for all digital services provided to solar installers to help them do their work.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We wanted to make installers’ lives easier through our digital services. We aimed to launch a new digital platform that would help installers manage all the phases of a solar project, including design, sales, and installation.Although we were a scalable, international organization, we weren’t very digital-savvy. We had to quickly learn how to go through a digital transition because we were also rebranding the mother company and digital propositions. Additionally, many stakeholders were integrating partner services into our own service, so we had a highly fragmented and complex landscape.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Neuron has designed our new digital platform for solar installers from scratch using Figma. They’ve researched and analyzed the competitive landscape to understand the tools installers use today and how we could combine or improve those. Initially, we provided Neuron with a bigger vision of providing integrated services for solar installers and a high-level digital strategy. However, Neuron still had to prove the concept and define the user journeys and rollout strategy. What is the team composition? We work with two key people, but we’ve been up to five teammates during busy periods. How did you come to work with Neuron?I searched on Google for a UI/UX design boutique agency in the Bay area because one of our primary business units is located there. After I found them, I read their reviews on Clutch. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent between $500,000–$1 million. What is the status of this engagement? We began working with them in January 2023, and our relationship is ongoing. However, the engagement is almost finished because we launched the big project in April 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We don’t know the business results yet because we just launched, but the first signals are great. The installer community has received the project well, so Neuron’s results have been excellent. Moreover, Neuron did a brilliant job of understanding all the participants and keeping track of every detail of the services. The team always saw the whole picture and was on top of things. Sometimes we lost the overview, but they always kept it in sight. Overall, the project was not just about launching the service for installers but designing the whole platform, the new brand, and its design system while working with parties in Europe and the US, so their work was impressive. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint? They’re the type of supplier that sometimes makes you feel guilty because you don’t perform as well as they do. Neuron always keeps their word and delivers on time, so they lead by example. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Matt (UX Lead & Creative Director) and Michelle (UX Lead) have been instrumental. They’ve really understood our company, market, and most of all, our customers. They needed to know the customers’ pain points and needs to address them, which meant understanding their lives, which is quite complex. Overall, they’ve done an excellent job understanding the customers and stakeholders in our company. What did you find most impressive about them?Their dedication is impressive. Neuron is truly part of our team; they don’t feel like an outside agency delivering an assignment. They’re always on top of things, working with the developers, and ensuring it’s easy to implement their work. Are there any areas they could improve?I really have to look for something because we’ve been very happy, but sometimes they could be less polite. Sometimes we make mistakes or don’t do things the way we should. Since they’re the experts, they know how it should be done. They speak their minds when we’re about to make mistakes, but they could be more forthcoming sometimes. However, it could be cultural because we’re based in Amsterdam, and they’re in the US.Do you have any advice for potential customers? You can move faster if you’re well prepared. In our case, we weren’t ready, so we hired Neuron; they helped us develop our own strategy. If you don’t know what you need to do, they’re also available to help. Initially, we were skeptical about their discovery phase because we felt we already knew what we wanted. However, having Neuron spend time to do a thorough analysis really paid off. Giving them the time to get an in-depth understanding of your customers, processes, and industry will pay off later on because they’ll be able to have that as a reference.

What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron? We wanted to redesign our customer-facing applications, but we didn’t have a designer in our company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We hired Neuron to redesign our applications and create a design system. They completely redesigned our customer-facing application and made many suggestions. They came up with a new design system and modified the user flow in certain places to ensure the customers had the best experience while they worked through our apps. They primarily worked in Figma. What is the team composition? We had a project manager, a lead designer, and another two designers on our team. How did you come to work with Neuron?I searched on Google and looked them up on Clutch; I saw they had excellent reviews. I read the reviews and contacted the top five design agencies on Clutch. After reviewing all of them and seeing their portfolios, I decided to go with Neuron. How much have you invested with them?We spent between $100,000–$250,000.What is the status of this engagement? We signed the contract in May 2023, and the project ended in July 2023.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’re still working on the implementation, so we haven’t implemented the design. However, their designers were great at engaging with us and understanding the design systems and user flows to create the best UX. Neuron’s designs were high quality, and every design decision had a logical sense. How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint? We were really satisfied with the project’s timeliness. Neuron worked through all the items and accomplished them on time. They were also able to stay within the budget. We mainly communicated via Slack, emails, and Zoom. We had weekly reviews of the designs through scheduled meetings. If they needed to discuss something before the design review, the team would reach back, and we’d give them feedback or insight into the process. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review? Working with all of them was great, but Ryan (UX Lead & Founding Partner) was great at communicating and organizing everything. What did you find most impressive about them? What impressed us the most was their understanding of user flows, design systems, and design frameworks and how they applied that to our customer-facing applications. Are there any areas they could improve?Honestly, we didn’t have any constructive feedback. We were really satisfied with their output.Do you have any advice for potential customers?I recommend providing as much documentation upfront for your project as you can. When we started working with Neuron, they had already reviewed the documentation, which helped us start from a different position.

**Feedback Summary**: The new design is fully fleshed out — Neuron has implemented the screens and designs, and they’ve exceeded the client’s expectations. The team has done an excellent job, and they’ve led the project seamlessly. They communicate effectively via Slack, Monday, Figma, texts, and calls.
""Their strong points are their personability and rigor in their implementation.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product for Geojam, a creator economy startup. We’re building a mobile app to connect fans and creators better.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We had an existing wireless platform, but it wasn’t up to par with our standards.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Neuron came in to redesign our application. They’ve rebuilt everything from the ground up. We started with UX research and moved to UX/UI design on Figma.

The product is a community-based app for creators. Fans and users have access to exciting features, almost like a subscription-based app or gated community where users can have unique interactions with creators. Each community has the potential to have a shop for its own merchandise experience and NFTs. We’re building it on React Native.

Additionally, Neuron will provide maintenance.

What is the team composition?

Mark (Director of Strategy) is our main point of contact. We have 4–5 people on the team at any time, including 2–3 UI designers, UX/UI design lead, and a UX strategist.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

We researched the best firms and cross-checked them with platforms like Clutch.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $150,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The new design system is fully fleshed out. We’ve implemented the screens and designs, and they’ve definitely exceeded expectations.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. We use Slack, Monday, Figma, texts, and calls to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their strong points are their personability and rigor in their implementation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve done a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s simple — the more you put in, the more you get out.

COO, Mortgage Company
- Industry: Financial services

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Jan 27, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron’s designs and wireframes include every functionality the client needs and have laid a perfect foundation for the next steps in the development process. Neuron has stayed within the 3–4 month design timeline — the client is involved in the project management to ensure communication is clear.
"“Neuron has found a way to merge different aspects of our previous softwares to create a new, user-friendly system.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the COO of a mortgage company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Like many mortgage companies, we have many employees working on various interfaces and software to process underwrites and deliver loans. It was incredibly inefficient and we wanted to develop a system that could host all of our functionalities and be more user-friendly. At the same time, we wanted to have software with more automation. So, we hired Neuron to help us with the system design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron is designing our software interface in Figma. We’ve provided their team with our employee workflows and how we interacted with the existing software. Neuron has then used that information to better understand what we need them to design. Neuron’s team has just finished working on the workflows and wireframes that will lay a solid foundation before we delve into the visuals and specific content.

What is the team composition?

We regularly work with five teammates from Neuron, including two partners and three designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

We knew we needed a design company to help us develop the software, so we asked for references and did some research on Google. We found several recommendations for Neuron during that process, claiming they were one of the top design firms. We talked to several other vendors, but Neuron had the capacity and was the best fit.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Neuron was from September 2021–January 2022.  However, we’ve only paused the project for now, so we will pick it back up soon.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we’re still in the initial stages of wireframing, we don’t have anything that can be put into production or bring immediate value to our company. However, Neuron’s work has been an excellent start to our next development steps. They’ve fully understood what we need and have presented us with a complete structure with every functionality we need. Neuron has found a way to merge different aspects of our previous softwares to create a new, user-friendly system to replace our old one. Neuron has done a great job.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron delivered on schedule — our initial two phases were set to last 3–4 months, and they followed that timeline. We communicated frequently, meeting twice a week to discuss designs and answer questions. I was personally involved in all the project management in Figma, so there weren’t any gaps between our companies.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron’s ability to understand our business model and needs is impressive. They obviously don’t have experience in every industry they’re going to work in, but Neuron can quickly understand our detailed processes and daily business operations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like to see more out of the box, creative ideas from the Neuron team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would let future customers know that they need to know what they want from a partnership. If both parties know the goal and the path forward, a collaboration with Neuron will be successful.

**The Review** — Jan 7, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Internal stakeholders have given positive feedback about Neuron’s work. The team has stood out for their expertise and ability to quickly grasp complex technologies. Also, they work with an agile methodology and are open, communicative, and well-organized in their project management.
""They’re respectful, polite, and responsive — they’re everything that we could’ve wanted.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the R&D manager for a marine tech company. We develop high-tech systems for the marina industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We’re revamping a system that has been in place for a long time. It had an old UI, so we wanted to update it and substantially extend its flexibility.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve engaged Neuron to help us with UX and UI. The project is essentially a desktop application that runs on PC hardware. However, the system is dedicated to this particular app; it’s not general-purpose.

We had an initial phase where we talked about the requirements. Then, they used Figma to capture the designs. Right now, the bulk of work is essentially finished, and they’re currently just providing support. We’ll occasionally be talking to Neuron for the next few months because we want to run certain things by them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with about five people during the project, but we mostly interact with one person. For the first couple of months, there was a second person, and then other people helped finish it as well.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

It was a Google search. We compared different options, and we liked Neuron because they were a team and could bring a range of skills as needed.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership began in May 2021, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any formal metrics. All the people in the company have seen their work, which ranges from the marketing team and CEO to all the developers. Overall, the informal feedback we’ve received has been extremely good.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been good; they’re pretty open about their project management. Initially, the team indicated the risks and had a schedule. They updated us on where we were in the process, and we felt everything was pretty well handled. Essentially, they worked with an Agile methodology, which fitted very well as we were also using an Agile approach.

We use GitHub internally, but they aren’t really exposed to it. Overall, we use Slack for communication and a bit of Microsoft Teams. We also meet over Zoom about once a week, and there are some telephone conversations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They quickly came up to speed on a very complex and unfamiliar system. It wasn’t a website, and there were a lot of complex technical aspects. However, Neuron’s team got to grips with the key concerns, which was very impressive and appreciated by all those who worked with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were cheaper options, and we knew that they would be expensive, but it went with the territory. Also, there was a bit of concern upfront about minor admin issues in talking to our financial people, but that was minor. Overall, it’s been a great working relationship. They’re respectful, polite, and responsive — they’re everything that we could’ve wanted.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open with them. One of the things we ran into was that it was difficult for us to enunciate our goals very precisely but we feel that they came to understand well what we were looking for through their approach to the project and the constant interaction we had with them. Initially, they seemed to require a clear vision from us and wanted to speak to our direct customers. It was understandable, but it had some practical issues. It took a little while for them to get to grips with that.

Nonetheless, they were just trying to ensure we’d meet our expectations. They were very keen to make sure that we got what we were looking for from the project but our requirements of them were not rigidly defined. I think it took a little time for them to get used to that.

Most important was that we wanted to improve the user experience for our customers. We wanted Neuron to use their skill set, experience and creativity to come up with a much better user interface that were capable of producing ourselves. The close working relationship that ensued though worked out very well and we got exactly what we wanted from the project. In the end, we don’t have any concerns coming out of it. Neuron did precisely what we wanted on that front, and everyone internally has been happy with their work.

**The Review** — Nov 5, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The Neuron team successfully built and launched the company's mobile app and are in the process of rebuilding the web platform. The company describes the team's work on their AI as instrumental in reframing the app and leaving space for future modules and features.
""It is clear their work is not just a day job for Neuron.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO of an enterprise software startup selling CRM to MedTech companies

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Neuron?

We were trying to launch a mobile app, but didn't want a separate code base and UX from our web experience. Our existing web app was built by the founding team with no design experience and also needed some love. Neuron helped redesign both our desktop experience and mobile.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We conducted several interviews (a mini-RFP) and ultimately selected Neuron because of their embedded design philosophy. We really wanted a partner who would work closely with our engineering and product team from day 1 and didn't treat our work like an outside consulting engagement.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Their team gathered and synthesized existing user feedback as well as our product roadmap. Then, they deep dived the existing app and played around with it to understand the current state functionality. From there, they built out a work plan and iterated on it with us to ensure they were focused on the highest priority issues.

Finally, they engaged in weekly design sprints where they would pull together updated designs each week and incorporate our feedback and direction during weekly 1:1s.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with 2 people from Neuron.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have since built and launched our mobile app and have proceeded to rebuild our desktop experience. Neuron's work on our IA was instrumental in helping us reframe our app and leaving space for future modules and features to build.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The embedded structure allowed for close feedback loops between design, product, and engineering.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We got to work closely with the founding team. Our company is also a founder led startup so it was nice empathizing with a fellow founder through this process. It is clear their work is not just a day job for Neuron.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

N/A. Ultimately their design got too far in front of what we were able to build so we needed some time for our engineers to catch up!

They also had a great understanding of the client’s business, and they were available and dedicated.
"“It was impressive how nimble and dedicated Neuron was. We almost felt that they were part of our company.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a private airport terminal.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We initially hired Neuron to review the UI/UX of our inward-facing operating system.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we collaborated with Neuron on a scoping exercise. As I mentioned, the requirement was to review the UI/UX of our operating system. From this exercise, they came up with a timeline and a budget for our project.

Halfway through our initial engagement, we realized that they were very talented, and we worked well together. They understood our customers, internal processes, and stakeholders very well, so we expanded their scope. We asked them to also review the UI/UX of our website and user-facing reservation systems.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two people from Neuron.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

We interviewed around 10 firms, each one coming either from our own discovery or from asking our referrals. I don’t remember how we found Neuron exactly, but it was probably through referrals.

We have a very unique business and a very discerning luxury customer. During the interview process, Neuron stood out because we felt that they understood our business and customers very well.

Additionally, they proved to be very responsive, thoughtful, and thorough, and they offered great customer service. We felt that they cared deeply about us and wanted to work with us.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $100,000–$250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–September 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

What I loved about Neuron was that nothing was too big or too small for them. The project ended up having life on its own, and they never said that something was beneath them or that it required a lot of minacious work for them to handle. They were equally dedicated to all parts of the project, whether they were minor or major.

Additionally, Neuron very quickly understood our business and the customers that we served, which made our engagement better.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron was on time and on budget, which usually never happens.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was impressive how nimble and dedicated Neuron was. We almost felt that they were part of our company. They were always available and dedicated to us, and they had an intimate understanding of our business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We basically want to continue working with them forever.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Spend a lot of time upfront to get them up to speed and having them understand your business. I felt that they were very valuable to us because of that understanding.

The team has demonstrated strong foresight and industry understanding, which has helped the client save on time and costs. They are highly communicative, independent, and creative.
""Even though all we've given them is our tacit industry knowledge, they were able to produce a wonderful product."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of an action sports-targeted mobile and web app that empowers skill-based competitors from around the world. Our product allows users from different countries to connect and make money by competing in virtual, peer-judged challenges.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We wanted to bring our vision of these skill-based competitions to the masses and democratize action sports. Our original MVP was built too quickly and many of its features were poorly thought out, so we brought in Neuron to rebuild it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron fully immersed themselves into the sports world to really get a grasp of what we're trying to create and for what purpose.  Since we're more sports-oriented, we let them take the ropes when it comes to the technical aspects of the project.

Neuron was tasked with rebuilding the mobile app, redoing its branding and design. The team went into developing versions of it for the web as well as for Android and iOS devices, all the while coordinating with our third-party development team.

We continue to work with some on iterating and releasing new features.

What is the team composition?

There are a few people working on this project, but our main contact and point person is Matt (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with Neuron?

A colleague of mine had worked with Neuron on a web app that I was thoroughly impressed with. They were the perfect fit, so I brought them over.

How much have you invested with them?

I believe we've spent $650,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2019, and it’s an ongoing partnership.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our product is still young, but our user base is now growing In terms of buys per month. Neuron has really helped us overcome a lot of strategic design decisions, saving us a lot of time and money through their foresight. They’ve helped us redesign from start to finish, and I couldn't have done it without them.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

I would rate them very highly for project management. It’s just incredible. They’ve worked with us for months after the product was launched to make sure that we were capturing ideas and feedback from our users and making iterations accordingly. I can't say enough nice things about these guys because they've given us exactly what we needed.

We communicate via Slack and email. They provide frequent updates and constantly let us know what’s going on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a team that can troubleshoot and think ahead of us. Even though all we've given them is our tacit industry knowledge, they were able to produce a wonderful product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Neuron continuously surprises and excites us, so I don’t think there’s anything for them to improve. They've worked above and beyond the call of duty.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Allow Neuron to exercise their creative freedom. Value their advice because they know exactly how to build a complicated app while making it function well and look nice.

""Neuron will be our first choice when we have our next project."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are manufacturing audio device and selling both to B and C. Website is playing very important role for both branding and retailing. I'm GM of the company, who is in charge of overall operation improvement.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Neuron?

Website new design including visual design and UX design. The service is including sort of consluting to let us know what is working and what is not working on our curretn website.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We made first selection based on overall cost and pricing to complete the project. Many companiees charge much higher prices before we feel comfortable with expected output result.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We had 3 steps process which we was presented in their first presentation package. Consulting, Conceptual designing and actual designing phases. They manage all tasks by hour. We had a change to make a decision if we want to extend the contract with them before we move to phase 3, which we did. It was not because we expired planned budget, but we could set up this "check point by setting hours prior to our start" so that we all were comfortable about the process.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

2 mainly, and 1 backend web designer. Our primary contact was their UX Lead position.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Actual design template and design format for us to start with our own web programmer.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We set up weekly call. 1 hour each time, and they always deliver expected and/or promised progress. In our meetings, participants joined from U.S., Europe and Japan. They were very flexible for meeting time set up, that helpsed us a lot.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Not just designing the visual design, but they are good at considering UX first. And they listed to our desire and priority carefully to pull maximum output from the project. First consulting section was very helpful for us to learn "what is missing" before we start the designing process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think thye delivered more than we expected. We will not know the real result until we unveil our new webiste to public, but so far I'm satisfied the process, the level of their professional service and the relationship we had during the project.

""The cleanliness and straightforwardness of their work really tied it together for me."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a music production house for the advertising industry. We write custom music and license tracks out to advertising agencies for anything from local radio spots to international TV campaigns and Super Bowl commercials.

I’m the associate director of engineering in the company, handling tech development. I also work with digital assets like our music tracks.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We were trying to build a platform to make our music available online to editors and music agencies. We wanted to give them the tools to search through our music and approach us with a clear picture of what they wanted.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I gave Neuron an initial brief that described what we were looking for in detail. Similar platforms existed already, but we were looking to set ourselves apart from the competition. Neuron researched the references I gave them, scouting our competitors’ platforms.

Neuron designed our platform’s UI/UX. They started by scoping out different user personas and determining what features should be included for each one. Wireframing only took about 1–2 months, and the design process took up the following three. We developed and elaborated on the user flow of the interface and started filling in the elements. We had weekly feedback rounds.

The final deliverable was a design blueprint of what the pages of the platform would look like, with indicators and descriptions of what elements would go where so that our chosen developer would have no questions regarding the design.

What is the team composition?

I believe there were three people from Neuron on the team. One of their founders was the project lead, and the other two were designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I searched online through dozens of UX companies and interviewed three of them. I found that Neuron had the cleanest designs in their portfolio, and I also liked that they were architects in a prior career. The deliverables and detail planning have to be immaculate with architectural design, which told us that they would a good grasp of ours.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost was $40,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Neuron between January–May 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Neuron developed what is, in our eyes, one of the best music library interfaces out there. Our hosting company also mentioned that Neuron did a meticulous job, especially considering that they hadn’t worked in the music and entertainment field before.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Their co-founder acted as the single point of contact between us and Neuron. They were very clear from a communication and project management standpoint.

We had a shared Slack channel as well as weekly Zoom meetings. Everybody was on the same page about developments throughout the week. I shot ideas back and forth with Neuron, and we discussed those with the greater group during our weekly meeting.

Their team performed well, and they didn’t have too many parts to manage throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The cleanliness and straightforwardness of their work really tied it together for me. Neuron knocked it out of the park with their visual representation of ideas.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have a strict path forward with this project. There was a bit of uncertainty at times regarding how many rounds of revisions we could get, so there could be room for improvement there. I have no complaints other than this, however. I was very impressed by them.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Neuron is extremely open to discussing all matters and ideas, but I had to bring things their way on my own account. My advice is for clients to reach out to them with any ideas that pop up.

**Feedback Summary**: The product's speed of delivering an answer to a user decreased from 30 seconds to 10. Neuron was easy to work with and made the engagement seamless. They were receptive to giving and receiving feedback, allowing for a quick turnaround in decision-making. Intuition is a hallmark of their work.
"“They delivered above and beyond our expectations.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of scientific products at Excelra. We’re a pharmaceutical vendor that engages with any company in the life sciences, whether it be pharma or biotech. Our role is to help amplify an organization’s needs. That can range from helping them with resources by amplifying their workforce or through our flagship products. One of those products is about servicing the pharma industry early in the drug and discovery process. Another product focuses on biomarkers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Our flagship product is going through an entire redesign. We wanted to pivot and create a next-generation experience for our client as well as provide a beautiful and improved UX so our users can get to their answers quicker. Our team wanted to find a UI/UX vendor because we needed someone with the skillset and know-how to turn an older-generation website into a user-driven website. In this case, it was all about how we refocused our UI based on what the user is expecting.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Neuron designed the entire UI/UX for our core user flows in our next-generation product. One of the first things they did was to assess our current offering, take what we have as a core user flow, and translate those into actual experience. Using Figma and other tools, they built an entire user color palette as well as the core frame of our website, which comprises our header and footer.

Then, they went and designed the UI for every step from when a user enters our site — how they log in, how they enter our search page, and so on. Their team delivered many functionalities such as the ability to autofill. Neuron also built a guided experience. If the user wants to go beyond a search, they can utilize the complex search queries in our database that provide the ability to simplify that process for the user.

The Neuron team organized the data in a way that makes sense to the user and then created the left-hand panel for us to manage that. Next, their team made sure that everything we built could be used on any screen size including tablet. The deliverables were wireframes and prototypes that serve as a blueprint of how to build our website from the ground up.

What is the team composition?
We worked with Matt (Creative Director) and Mark (Director of Strategy).

How did you come to work with Neuron?
Someone in our organization had previously worked with Neuron at a prior company; their team was suggested to us. We put out a bid, asking Neuron and others to bid on the project. Based on how Neuron approached and talked through the problem, we thought they’d be the best fit.

How much have you invested with them?
We invested $84,000.

What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement was from February–April 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The speed at which our clients and users will be able to engage with the database is much faster. Previously, the speed was anywhere from 30 seconds to one minute. We went from 30 seconds to 10 seconds in terms of improvements in getting to the answer. The guided experience that Neuron worked on is also a highlight of their deliverables. We’ve gone from users being afraid of this feature to them embracing it.

If I had a larger budget, I would have kept Neuron on longer because we could’ve kept doing many more iterations. They’re a high-quality team so they cost a bit more than the average firm. However, they’re still reasonable. They delivered above and beyond our expectations. Their team was flexible even in the way we engaged with them.

Neuron was tremendously helpful. They’re not experts in chemistry, they have no background in it, but they caught on very quickly. Their research and time spent with us were excellent all around. Chemistry is a complex subject area. Neuron made our UI so simple that when users land on a results page, they know exactly what they’re looking at.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great at project management. Their team hit all of the timelines. Neuron was straightforward with their project plan. Out of the gate, they told us how long the project was going to be as well as outlined all of the milestones. They were great about the timelines. We worked with them throughout the process and constantly spoke on Slack. Through Slack, we were asking and answering questions, and Neuron presented their findings and prototypes once a week.

Once a week, we met to do real-time feedback. Their team was very upfront about what they could and couldn’t do. That was fantastic because it gave me a way to assess how far the partnership would take us and what we’d get from them. Neuron was true to their word. They delivered within those timelines exactly when they said they would.

What did you find most impressive about them?
It was very easy to work with Neuron; that’s the best part about their team. The partnership was intimate because we worked with only two of their team members. We got to know each other really well. Within a couple of weeks, it was so easy to talk to them. The interaction was seamless.

It felt like they were part of the team. At no point did I think they were a vendor, it was as if they were part of our organization. The engagement was a great experience. Neuron made it easy to provide them with feedback and it made them comfortable to give us feedback. They provided us with the ability to make fast decisions and turn things around quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they gave us what we expected and worked on our timeline.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Stay realistic and don’t ask for the moon. If you stay within the bounds of the project and what your expectations are, you’ll be very pleased with the results. Listen to Neuron because they know what they’re doing. Trust their intuition.

**The Review** — Apr 5, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: At the beginning of the engagement, the client wanted designs that would be easily implemented, would meet all requirements in a streamlined manner, and would keep the product easy to use. Neuron’s deliverables met all these goals. They were responsive and managed the project extremely well.
""They were careful in ensuring all our project requirements were met."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of an industrial employee lifecycle management company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We had launched a pilot for a new product offering and had collected feedback on it from our customers. We wanted to take that feedback and use it to influence new features we added to the product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with them primarily on designs for new features. We would collaborate regularly to brainstorm how to best address the client feedback in the new designs. After these brainstorming sessions, they would develop the new designs and deliver them via Figma at the end of each step of the project.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Ryan (Co-Founder) and another member of their team.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I used Google to search for UX designers and then set up introductory calls with several firms to gauge how their process and approach would fit the project. With Neuron, I spoke with Chris (User Experience Lead). He impressed me with their flexibility and defined strategy to help web development firms work through new product features.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $115,000 with them on this engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from September 2020–March 2021. We now have them on retainer and work with them on other projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We wanted to make sure our development team could implement the designs in an expedited time frame. They met this goal with the designs they delivered, as our team implemented them right on time. We also had a number of specific criteria for the design that had to be accommodated in a limited space. They were able to meet all these criteria without the design becoming too busy. In addition to these goals, we wanted to make sure that the new page was easier for our customers to use. Based on the feedback we’ve received, they met this goal as well.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They did extremely well with project management. Their team always met deadlines, communicated well, took detailed notes, and maintained a flexible approach throughout the engagement. Rather than approaching the project from any specific framework model, they worked to augment our own processes and provide the designs to achieve our product goals.

We communicated daily via a Slack Connect channel. We also had real-time brainstorming sessions over Zoom twice a week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their attention to detail was most impressive. They were careful in ensuring all our project requirements were met.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything they could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for advice on how to approach the project, they’d certainly give it. If you explain your typical processes to them, though, they’ll accommodate those processes well in their approach. It’s also worth spelling out your specific requirements in advance. They’ll make sure they’re all met.

**The Review** — Feb 11, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron’s approach to the project, which recognized its artistic and scientific requirements, ensured the partnership’s success. The team produced deliverables that users praised for the features’ simplicity. By providing a consistent and flexible team, Neuron facilitated effective collaboration.
""Unlike other vendors I previously engaged, Neuron sought opportunities to expand their work but didn’t push us."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of product at Flo Health. We have a women’s health app that uses a 10-day cycle to help women understand their bodies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We needed to expand our design team with external resources. Additionally, we wanted to add a feature that would send women a monthly report about their cycles. We had a clear end goal but needed help bringing it to life.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron was involved with our team throughout the design process, working in stages. We provided them with requirements documentation and then they did more research to help determine the best format for the reporting feature. We also provided Neuron with a couple of UI options and gathered their team’s feedback.

A medical board reviewed the wireframes to give another perspective. The reports follow official guidelines and help women understand their bodies’ health. The feature also includes graphs to show a user’s results in comparison to other users.

What is the team composition?

I had two contacts at Neuron but also worked with a dedicated partner who oversaw the deliverables and two designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I found Neuron on Clutch and liked them because their team included architects, so I felt that they would have a good aesthetic direction. After looking through their portfolio, I knew their team was experienced. I felt that it would be easy to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $15,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our engagement in July and their team completed the bulk of the project in October 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Neuron saw our project as not only art but also science, which I appreciated. We gathered feedback from users who expressed their delight about the clarity of the information provided in the reports. The graphs were easy to understand too.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, their team seemed to misunderstand us. We had to repeat all the details to the design lead who wasn’t in the meeting with our business contacts at Neuron. After that cleared, they did great. We communicated by adding them to our Slack channel. They were reliable and accommodated our needs. Their team was also flexible with the timing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Once Neuron dedicated a team to our project, they didn’t change the designers. That allowed us to follow through the entire process together. Unlike other vendors I previously engaged, Neuron sought opportunities to expand their work but didn’t push us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Neuron should show off their talent and expertise upfront. Their team thought about the app’s architecture and sought ways to be more collaborative. It would’ve been helpful to engage with those qualities earlier.

**The Review** — Oct 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron’s design expertise shone through their ability to not only deliver as requested but to also go beyond that and exceed expectations. The team successfully managed the waterfall project process by having clear timelines and communication, and they handled the large-scale project very well.
""Neuron delivered a more well-thought-out product than originally intended."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the Chief Product Officer at a consumer media company that's in pre-launch.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We needed to design our 1.0 product, which is a desktop and mobile progressive web app. We had an extensive product requirements document (PRD) for our product and we had developers, but we needed someone to do the design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron took the entire PRD and went through all the various pieces to translate it into UX. We have three major parts of the product. They worked on the broad and individual site architecture, the flow of individual areas, and did the design.

They also worked on the individual componentry. The work output of that was a collection of Figma designs that our developers worked off of to build the product.

What is the team composition?

At the height of the project, we worked with four teammates, but we worked regularly with two teammates. Mark (Director of Strategy) was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

We were working with a company in New York that was going to do some UX prototyping for us, and they had an existing partnership with Neuron for the design element. We trusted their referral.

We talked to Neuron, and they walked us through some of their previous projects that were most similar to what we were doing. It was clear to us that they would be up to the task.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent just north of $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in July 2020, and the majority of the work was completed in September 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The developers and engineers we worked with had a very positive perception of what Neuron had done. We certainly felt that they not only built us a very modern, contemporary version of what we had imagined, but they also took it beyond what we had imagined.

That’s something we’re always looking for in a design partner — someone who will take what we want and align it with our goals for the product. We consistently felt that they gave us what we asked for and gave us the best version of that. Neuron delivered a more well-thought-out product than originally intended.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a very clear view of what our schedule was, which was important because we had a lot of moving parts and a lot of contributors. We had a fairly aggressive waterfall between design, UX engineering, and product, so it was important that we stayed on that waterfall so that everything kept moving.

We used Jira to collaborate with everyone involved in the project, and we also communicated via Slack. Their speed and clarity of communication were great. They stayed ahead of things, reached out, and asked clarifying questions ahead of time early rather than having it pile up.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In the beginning, it was clear that they had the experience and the depth that we needed for the scale and scope of what we were building. That proved to be absolutely true.

Neuron was able to go from the very top and not miss anything in terms of the site architecture, all the way down to the lowest details. Their clear experience in managing something of this scale and scope was the reason we chose them, and it proved to be true.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When you have a project of this kind of scope, you have to manage the details on time. The vast majority of the time, they were reliable and clearly met our expectations, and they found things that we hadn’t looked at.

There was an occasion here or there where details were missed, which were the toughest moments of the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear about the experience you want the user to have and then give Neuron enough elbow room to digest that and deliver against not only what you ask but also what will be best for the user.

Give them enough detail of what you’re trying to accomplish rather than the exact solution. Give them the breathing room to express your vision in their own way and you’ll get the most value.

**The Review** — Aug 19, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to their design and development knowledge, Neuron was able to deliver a product that far exceeded the business’ expectations and was met with an extremely positive internal response. Their ability to adapt, strong project management skills, and creative approach were valuable assets.
""Neuron developed and designed a tool that met our needs considerably, despite having little knowledge of our industry."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of medical coding at a new wave technology company. We’re a software technology company in the healthcare space.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We have a computer-assisted coding software UI, but the design of it was a little outdated. We wanted to not only bring it up to date with industry standards, but we also wanted to make the efficiency and overall look of it more appealing and user-friendly.

We engaged Neuron to redesign what we currently had and provide some additional enhancements that would allow us to take our tool in another direction.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The original scope of work was for Neuron to take our UI and completely redesign it. I had the opportunity to work with them through the design phase where we went through several iterations to decided on what I wanted to get out of the tool and how it differed from what we had.

They did their design and created mockups that we could use. From there, they actually worked with us in the development stage, working on the frontend. Instead of them developing the entire product, they worked collaboratively with our team, and we gave them access to our Azure DevOps system. Our team did the backend.

From that process, there were a lot of reiterations. Neuron had to be able to adapt to all of the languages that we use, including MongoDB and Python. We used so many different elements in the building of the tool.

What is the team composition?

In the design phase, I worked with two teammates. During the development, I worked with three other teammates.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Our manager at the time had gone to college with one of the owners of Neuron, so he was familiar with what the company did. When we were looking for a company to do the work, they suggested we reach out to them.

I reached out, had a couple of conversations, and traveled to San Francisco to meet with them in-person. Upon meeting with them, I knew immediately that based on their information, understanding of the product, willingness to engage despite our challenges, flexibility, and knowledge that they would be a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We probably spent between $150,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from March–July 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t deployed it to our clients yet and we’re still going through the testing. However, the tool does what we wanted it to do, so Neuron more than met our needs as far as that. We did a live demo internally for different representatives of the company, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

People loved the tool and the look of it. They also loved the changes in design and functionality compared to our original tool. Neuron developed and designed a tool that met our needs considerably, despite having little knowledge of our industry.

Throughout the process, Neuron provided additional ideas that we hadn’t considered that the tool might need. It was a collaboration from day one until the project ended, right through the design, development, deployment, and testing of the software.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was excellent. When we first started, we were actually missing our internal project manager, so Neuron took on the role of a project manager, helping our team collaborate and work through daily scrums, which was outside of the scope of their work.

They managed their process extremely well, and there were no delays or hiccups. They also helped us with our process when our project manager was missing. We added them to our Azure DevOps board and they did their workload within our software.

They were engaged and open to working with us in any capacity and modifying themselves to fit our needs. We collaborated with them on a daily basis. We had daily meetings and worked on client tickets with them.

I can’t say enough about their flexibility and ability to jump in. They were flexible through the changes and through working with our team. Even though they didn’t really understand our line of work in the healthcare space, they took our directive and did research on their end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When we were first looking at engaging with a company for this project, I was looking for an innovative, flexible, and creative company that was up to date in terms of technology. I didn’t want someone who was just going to develop something based on the bullet points I gave them.

I wanted someone who would expand on my bullet points, provide additional ideas, be more creative, and give more solutions based on their level of knowledge. Of all the companies I talked to, Neuron fit that bill the most.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have no suggestions. From the start to the end of the project, they correctly assessed the project in terms of the number of personnel and design elements. They also put together a roadmap that was spot on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come in with your list of requirements, but give Neuron the creative license. I gave them the initial directive but said that I wasn’t tied to one thing or another. I told them that I wanted them to tell me how best to carry out the project.

Don’t hold the team to set parameters; give them the option to provide you with feedback on what they can deliver. If I hadn’t done that, my product would’ve looked different. By giving them the creative license, Neuron was able to deliver a product that was far above and beyond what I expected

""Neuron is talented and responsive."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO & chief council for Jet RVSM Services, LLC. We work with business and private jet owners, helping them with regulatory compliance.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We were branching out to work with contract pilots, as well. The coder and software group we had worked with weren’t getting the job done. We needed a new vendor to do the frontend design of an app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron developed an app in an alpha prototype. The UX was very amateur. We presented that to the team, asking for consultation in order to rebrand. They came up with a style board, and once we had made our selections, they designed screens.

They rebranded a competitive app to replace the app we had been working on, in order to get to market sooner. The app is only for iOS because 95% of pilots use iOS.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we worked with Matt (Co-Founder & Creative Director) and Mark (Co-Founder & Director of Strategy). Matt became the project manager, and we began working with their offshore coders. It is currently a tight team of three people.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Since the vendors we had tried to work with were failing, we were in need of a different one. We had an office in the same building as Neuron, and we talked to them about the project and decided to hire them in the end.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent $80,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around January 2019, and our engagement is ongoing. They are on retainer as our go-to designers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We just launched the first Beta test into the app store, so there aren’t any analytics to share at this time. We have had several events for pilots, showcasing the app and its design. Everyone has been impressed with it, and the brand work is great.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

While they are perfectly capable of managing a project, I took the majority of that responsibility on myself. They were a fantastic resource, suggesting tools like Jira, which we used.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron is talented and responsive. Everyone we’ve interacted with from there is pleasant to work with. Unlike most other vendors we’ve experienced, we enjoy working with this team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like them to be more proactive, but it isn’t entirely their fault. I micromanage, and once the design work was done, the project was very small for them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear idea of what you want. The more direction you give them, the better the ideas they can bring back to you. For example, give them your ideas, but encourage them to expound on it and put their own creativity into it.

Their significant engagement facilitates a successful partnership. The team’s impressive design capabilities support continued collaboration.
""They articulate why certain options would and wouldn’t work, and then guide us in the best direction for our users."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product for a nonprofit and religious organization donation platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We needed to redesign our app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron completely refreshed our app, bringing us from our 2.0 version to the 3.0 version. As with all redesign projects, they kept elements from our earlier version but also redesigned various screens. It was for both iOS and Android.

Moving on from the app, their team now works on the other side of the platform. They’re going through each screen and working to get the redesigns out the door.

What is the team composition?

We mostly work with two designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Our previous head of design had a personal connection with them and brought them on board before I started. The company engaged several outsourced agencies before starting with Neuron.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our partnership in March 2019, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Anytime you move from version two to three, it’s a huge investment. The most important measure of success is the impact on the UX. We had an antiquated design, and Neuron helped to make the platform much more modern. We’ve had a lot of good reviews. Before the upgrade, we had a 4.8 rating in the App Store. Now, the platform has a 4.9. It’s hard to move from 4.8 to 4.9.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

We meet at least once a week to go over tasks and deadlines. Once they complete the work, we have reviews. Their team’s plugged into ours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron’s experienced in UX design. They explain the pros and cons of different options. Their team’s well-versed in the art of critiquing, which isn’t easy. They articulate why certain options would and wouldn’t work, and then guide us in the best direction for our users.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They may or may not have branding and creative direction resources.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Neuron works better in a waterfall environment. We work in a hybrid waterfall-scrum environment. If you’re open to that methodology, you could get better outcomes.

**The Review** — May 21, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron excelled at understanding the agency’s vision, ultimately bringing a brand to life in digital form and setting the project up for long-term success. Creative, thoughtful, and collaborative, the team remained open to feedback and quickly implemented change requests.
"“You can’t go wrong taking them on as a design and development team.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an account director at a creative studio with offices in San Francisco and on the east coast. We focus on marketing and branding.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Neuron has expertise in the digital space and website design, so we looked to them to help with a particular project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron designed a website for us to help depict a lifestyle.

Since we are a creative agency, we already had the brand in place and came to the engagement with lots of creative, collateral, photography, etc. Neuron took all of that and brought it to life in a digital form. We didn’t necessarily give them any direction from a website design standpoint, so they took the liberty to design a few different options for us, which was really great.

Neuron did prototyping, wireframing, and visual design. They created a site map and offered a few different approaches to the site from a design standpoint. Then, they handed off all of the files to our team in both desktop and mobile forms. Neuron was also part of the QA process. We handled the programming and development internally.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–3 Neuron team members, including a main point of contact who is a partner. We had a few people from our side working on the project as well, so it was a very fluid, collaborative process.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I’d actually worked with them before at a previous agency. I knew that their skill set aligned with what we needed.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in December 2019, and they handed everything off in March 2020. We launched in mid-April. If we needed to make slight adjustments or review something, they were available.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, it was a great experience. They really understood the vision we had for the brand. I think everyone is excited about what we’ve created together. Neuron didn’t just think about what's needed now but also accounted for future plans for the brand.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

It was really great to work with them. They were open to our feedback; we made frequent updates to specific copy or imagery, and they worked swiftly to make those changes. It felt like they were a part of the team. Since we’re both in San Francisco, we had a few in-person meetings. We also communicated via Slack and used Figma to provide design feedback or copy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They took the time to understand what we were looking for, what the brand needed, and the vision for the project. They made something that we are excited about.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, I don’t. It went really smoothly. I actually talked to some of my internal team, and we can’t pinpoint anything that we felt could have been improved upon. We’re all really happy with how everything went.

Any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any specific advice. You can’t go wrong taking them on as a design and development team. This project had more of a graphic design element to it than being product-focused, and their work shined through. They’re really creative and thoughtful in their approaches, so I’d advise people thinking of hiring Neuron for this type of work that they should.

**The Review** — Apr 13, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: An early version of the redesigned website prompted a spike in traffic after a trade show. The vendor's UI services have differentiated the software product from competitors and fostered praise from internal and external stakeholders. In both projects, Neuron was a communicative partner with expert advice and problem-solving skills. This review was updated by the client company on April 17, 2020.
"“They were agile with changes that were thrown at them and quick to respond.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company's name is Future Dial. We’re a robotics and software startup in the mobile and wireless device space. We do Software and robotics that process mobile phones with major wireless carriers. When a phone is traded in we work on the backend for the recycling process. My role is the marketing communications manager. So, I’m in charge of the outbound marketing and messaging in support of our sales office.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We hired them for software interface design. We needed intelligence design and some of the arrangements on the screen.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They redesigned our website to make it easier to navigate and a little more straight-forward. We had an initial scope of work, then they went over our requirements and came back with a branding survey. They evaluated our brand, how we looked, how we compared to our competitors. They also did some site mapping and looked at our navigation to explain what parts worked well and what parts didn’t.

Then they went through our messaging and determined where what we’re saying doesn’t match up with our customers. They also noted what we were trying to say and where the messaging wasn’t coming through.

Coming into this project, they streamlined our website, tightened up the messaging, and used a lot more visuals. They graphically and visually portrayed our business so users could easily understand what we do.

We then had a tradeshow a few months after starting the project, so we at least needed the landing page completed by then, and they delivered.

What is the team composition?

We worked primarily with our project manager and a few designers.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

They came highly recommended. We had a manager who knew them and had them help with the UI design. Our sales VP talked to them and found out they did website design as well, and thought it would be great to bring them on board for that as well.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost between $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted in August 2019–March 2020

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw more people accessing our landing page during and after the tradeshow. We just launched the first phase of the website, so it’s brand new and I don’t have any metrics there.

Our previous developer didn’t structure the site in a way that would enable us to manage the site ourselves. There was no rhyme or reason. Neuron was able to strip it down to the nuts and bolts so we would be able to manage the platform going forward. Now it’s more logical, and if we need a banner changed, we can do that ourselves now.

Our former website was also a bit wordy. Neuron’s strength is simplifying and distilling it to a message that’s easier to understand. That’s their forte.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

We held bi-weekly meetings to go over requirements or they would show us wireframes, what they put together, we’d preview it and tweak messaging. Our main point of contact was always available, we would message him at a lot of different hours, and we were always able to reach him.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They accommodated all of our requests and were always consultative. They would make suggestions and discuss the advantages or disadvantages of anything we were considering. We knew we could ask them for their professional opinion whenever we needed it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes there were visual aspects that we wanted to incorporate, but because of technical considerations, it wouldn’t work on the mobile layout. But that’s not necessarily against them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go into engagement thinking about it as a partnership. Neuron works best when they know that you are willing to be open to feedback. They can then provide advice on best practices.

**UPDATED REVIEW**
This review was updated by the client company on April 17, 2020. New content is below:

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

FutureDial provides automated solutions for wireless device processors. Our SMART Receive product streamlines the receiving process of devices to ensure inventory accountability, accurate device identification, removal of private consumer content and further testing of device Condition. I, Angel Anderson, am the product manager for FutureDial's SMART Receive Product. This solution addresses many issues that our customers have experienced in the reverse industry which by definition has many variables. Our SMART Receive software takes all the complexity of processing these variables & simplifies the directive to allow any operator to be successful on day one.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Neuron?

FutureDial approached Neuron to redesign our User Interface. Having been immersed in this industry for so long, we felt it was important to get a fresh perspective on the user interface and the user experience.

What were your goals for this project?

1. Design a clean User Interface 2. Improve the User Experience to simplify user tasks and improve their efficiency.

How did you select this vendor?

The FutureDial marketing team selected Neuron to redesign our website. They were so pleased with Neuron's work and support that our internal marketing team highly recommended Neuron to the product team for this UI project.

SOLUTION

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Neuron was briefed on our existing software. They were given user work instructions and a copy of the software to interact with. We held a training session and a followup call for questions. I was extremely impressed how easily the Neuron team was able to pick up on what we do and how we do it. Neuron inquired about things we liked or didn't like, feedback that we've received from customers, etc.. Neuron then took that back & designed a proposed sketch of a new UI concept and submitted that concept to FutureDial. This concept was outside the box that we at FutureDial had lived in at that time, but we all quickly fell in love with the design. Neuron's concept solved several problems that we had been stumbling with for a while. FutureDial gave our feedback to Neuron, who then built a very basic wire-frame that further helped to demonstrate an anticipated look and feel for the new product. As the product requirements process advanced, Neuron further built out an interactive wire-frame that FutureDial used to pitch this product to one of our Tier1 customers. The ability to professionally demonstrate our product concept in such a tangible way was beyond valuable. Not only did this lend confidence to the SMART Receive design plan, it also assisted in hashing out specific customer requirements ahead of development. I was also impressed at Neuron's problem solving skills as new customer requirements or concerns arose, Neuron was able to quickly propose solutions and seamlessly integrate those into the design.

What was the team composition?

For the SMART Receive project, I primarily interfaced with two individuals from Neuron. Ryan Matthew was on point to manage the project. I also worked closely with Michelle Stoner who directly worked on the wire-frames. Both were closely in communication and responded quickly.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The new User Interface and User Experience has allowed us to take our software to the next level. SMART Receive has developed many new fantastic functional features. The UI/UX however magnifies those improvements and sets FutureDial ahead of our competitors for the product in this space. Neuron's design was accepted by everyone on all sides, our internal product team, sales teams, marketing teams and engineering team, as well as our customer from operations to IT. It is worth noting that in my carrier I have never seen a project be so widely applauded nor pleased so many without receiving any negative feedback.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Neuron's project management was on par. They clearly communicated timelines and made or exceeded those deadlines. They did not hesitate to ask questions & they clearly communicated throughout the process. They were agile with changes that were thrown at them and were quick to respond.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

1. How well they were able to articulate our software & the industry that uses it. 2. How they were able to problem solve using that knowledge, in some ways solving problems that the industry has been struggling with for years. 3. How patient and helpful they are. Working on a major project there were days that I inundated them with questions and feedback. They seamlessly captured this & helped manage the chaos into a productive workflow.

Are there any areas for improvement?

From my perspective, I cannot think of anything that Neuron could have done better. They met my every need and I plan to use them again in the future for other products.

**The Review** — Feb 4, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron’s migration and redesign of the site led to the store’s average order value (AOV) doubling. The appealing new interface has received rave reviews both internally and from customers, who have lauded it for its user-friendliness. The team went above and beyond to ensure the project’s success.
"“I was also impressed by their genuine investment in our success.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m one of the original founders of Marvel Optics, an online retailer of affordable prescription eyewear.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We were looking to migrate our outdated web platform to a WordPress site with improved functionalities. We wanted to redesign the frontend of the site for a full rebrand.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Starting from a new logo and color scheme, Neuron was responsible for redesigning over 20 site pages. Apart from page-specific designs, they executed the graphics, typeface, and icons that span across the website.

They also reorganized the layout of our product pages. They took a mobile-first approach, so they implemented the mobile layouts first and kept UI/UX across all devices in mind. The team also streamlined the checkout process so users can reorder products quickly.

What is the team composition?

We frequently interfaced with Chris (Co-Founder, Neuron) and Lucia (Senior UX Designer, Neuron) but we know that there were a couple of developers working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

If I recall correctly, we found them on Clutch. We were looking for an affordable company and shortlisted three; we eventually decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent somewhere between $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2019 until May of the same year.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of our goals was to increase our average order value—the average amount of products that a customer will purchase from us—and thanks to Neuron’s work, we saw that number double from $75 to $150.

All of our repeat customers, including our corporate clients, have given great feedback about the usability of the new site. It’s much more intuitive and user-friendly than our previous platform.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was excellent. When there was something I needed to change, they were on it right away. They definitely have a sense of ownership of the project beyond the strict scope of the engagement. They showed commitment to making sure that everything worked out well for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their responsiveness and communication skills are stellar. I was also impressed by their genuine investment in our success. They didn’t bill us for every hour but instead went out of their way to make sure that everything was going well, even post-project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While they took a mobile-first approach where the site was created for mobile then translated over for desktop use, some of the pages displayed awkwardly on a PC screen. It would’ve been nice to see beforehand what the layouts would look like, on the desktop side. This wasn’t the case for all the important pages, but a few of the more minor ones.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear about your goals and requirements. Once you communicate what you’re trying to achieve, they take ownership of the project. Let them drive the creative process because they truly know what they’re doing.

**The Review** — Jan 31, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Though the website hasn’t launched yet, internal stakeholders are confident about the site’s performance and potential to increase user engagement. The team is highly collaborative and adaptive and feels like a true partner.
""Working with Neuron was a seamless experience."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the IT director for the City of Everett, Massachusetts.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We needed to revamp the look and functionality of our website. Ours was template-based, without a lot of original work, and we wanted to update it to retain users and increase engagement.

Our main priority was shifting from a department-oriented site to a task-oriented site, so people could come to it with something specific in mind and accomplish their goals quickly and easily.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron focused more on the design work than on coding, as we’re using WordPress as our CMS. The team decided how the pages would be organized and what the interface of each would be. They focused on keeping a unified look throughout.

The team has passed along final deliverables, so now we’re in the implementation stage. Neuron will monitor the conversion and follow up with any of the minor changes or tweaks we want to make before the website officially launches.

What is the team composition?

I directly interact with three people, but there are more on the team. Mark (Co-Founder & Director of Strategy, Neuron) was the leader on the project. Natalie (UX Designer, Neuron) was usually in on the weekly calls as well.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

One of my colleagues within the city had worked with Neuron on a project in the past. I really liked the samples of their work that I’d seen and felt they fit really well with our organization and goals.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $90,000 with Neuron.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2019 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any metrics because the site hasn’t gone live yet, but we did do some preliminary testing that impressed us and gave us confidence moving forward.

Since one of our primary goals was to improve workflow and navigation on the website, the team at Neuron came up with a test involving different test groups to analyze how long different tasks took to accomplish on the site.

Their findings confirmed that for almost every task and group, users could easily find the information they need. The numbers we saw were a significant improvement from our old site, thanks to the design and organization efforts from Neuron.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron’s project management style is excellent. Dealing with the different requirements across departments was difficult, but Neuron handled the challenge really well.

The team was very patient, often facing waiting periods of two weeks after requesting information from departments.

We had a weekly call during the design phase of the project, and the team was always focused and ready to answer questions about the project as well as their progress and workflow.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron didn’t start the engagement with ideas that they tried to guide us to. Instead, they listened to us and did their best to incorporate our vision. The team managed to come up with a unified final product that represented us well.

Also, we have a lot of third-party solutions in place for things like permits and parking tickets. Neuron collaborated with us really strongly in coming up with a solution to deal with those third-party platforms but retain the unity of the site. That was especially important to us, as it was one of our main concerns going into the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that stands out to me. During the entire process, I was never frustrated with the team or their services. Working with Neuron was a seamless experience. It felt like they were working as part of our own team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

While this is specific to organizations that are dealing with multiple departments with their own specific goals and needs, my advice is to collect as much information from all actors beforehand.

If we’d had more prep work done before we started, we could’ve been a little more focused throughout the project and new ideas would’ve integrated more smoothly.

That being said, Neuron did a wonderful job handling those difficulties.

**Feedback Summary**: After taking on this rescue mission project, the team worked to understand the complexities of their partner company to yield the best possible output. They impressed the internal staff with their straightforward, direct approach to communication and collaboration. The partnership will continue.
"“They always responded to us quickly, honestly, and at reasonable prices.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for an investment firm that purchases e-commerce companies and runs them. I’m the CEO of Cards for Causes.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Our previous design agency failed to redesign our website to our standards. Neuron was brought on to take their place.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

To start, we switched from a no-name e-commerce company to BigCommerce. With that, we lost some functionality, but that’s standard in the industry. It was important that we were able to freshen up the site and put a new spin on it.

Once they got a chance to know our business, they got to work. In the end, they presented exactly what we asked them for. We made a few revisions here and there for minor issues. They wrapped up the project but will stay on board to tweak other aspects of the site.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with Chris (Director, Neuron) and one of the chief designers. There were also developers working in the background.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $20,000–$30,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2019, and our team plans to collaborate with them in 2020 to tweak the design even more. This particular project wrapped up in November 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They worked closely with us to craft a site that was 100% better than it was before. Their responsiveness level was really important to us. They were willing to utilize a Slack channel and speak directly with each other about progress.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

I appreciated having a single point of contact that really understood what was going on across all parts of the project. Internally, they used Jira to organize the project. They didn’t have to expose that to us, because I didn’t want that level of detail. I was satisfied knowing that they were fixing problems as they popped up.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They always responded to us quickly, honestly, and at reasonable prices. I’m very impressed with their business, so they deserve credit where credit is due. Their price and responsiveness were the two most impressive things about them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing’s coming to mind at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In general, it’s important to internalize your scope before reaching out for their help. They’re going to ask you scope-related questions early on, so you need to know exactly what you need to get things right the first time. Once you get them to know your business, they’ll do wonders for you.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the Chief Creative Officer for a hybrid technology and creative agency.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We were updating our marketing website, and we needed a design and development team to execute changes quickly.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron ran through several iterations with us and then built new web pages for our site. Together, we developed a plan to communicate what we do and our core products in a clean and professional way. They re-envisioned our product pages while following our existing brand guidelines and maintaining the look and feel of our site.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a designer who was in charge of the project, one principal, and a developer. While the site of our team was relatively small, they drew on other resources on their team to make everything happen.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I knew one of the principals through a mutual friend. We were looking at a few different agencies, but Neuron was the right fit for what we were doing.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from February–June 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They elevated our platform and reorganized our pages to communicate what we did in a really impactful way. With their help, we were able to change the way our clients see us and steer the conversation the way we want.

Most importantly, Neuron delivered everything on time and on budget.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a stellar job managing everything. They kept things on the timeline and held us accountable. They completely understood what we needed them to do and everything was well documented. In this regard, their creative team really shined. They are definitely a cut above competitors.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Project management really is their strength. They’re able to move the project forward in a really helpful way.

They’re also great people to work with—they’re smart and great with ideation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everything they delivered for us was great, but I wish we could have utilized their UX background more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Bring in Neuron early to help guide the process. They can help organize your thought process and find actionable ways to move the project forward when things aren’t clearly defined. They have some really smart ideas.

You will also want to dedicate time to the project because they work very quickly.

Their team designed templates for a new feature we were adding to our platform. We took the templates and codified them into the product. They also provided a summary document of the use case with little background knowledge.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two people One person had to leave mid-project, which didn’t impact the project negatively.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Neuron reached out to me at the right time. There was pressure for this demo to be a winner and we had a weakness internally in terms of higher-end design, so I tried them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2019, and we’re still in touch. While the product’s at a new level, there’s an open door to bring Neuron back once we take on some larger engagements.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They brought unique ideas that we didn’t consider, which was the whole point. Neuron turned products around quickly. We gave them specific requirements. Their team figured the assignments out and got results quickly. We did that for a few rounds.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron went above and beyond. They were proactive and self-run, so we didn’t have to manage them at all. Their communication was top tier, making the distance disappear.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neuron was able to come up to speed quickly. The ability to grab a project, understand its vision, and be productive quickly is only done by people with a lot of experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At this stage, I don’t have any corrective measures. Neuron was terrific.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give short deliverables upfront and trust them. When I hired them, I was specific about the outcomes and had a demo date out a month and a half later. We tried to make the calendar to make sure different milestones were going to happen in between.

**The Review** — Nov 25, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Neuron's efforts received favorable reviews from stakeholders and helped generate funding. Their team mapped out the project timeline very clearly. Responsive, flexible, and effective, they offer high-quality work and have very high standards.
""They were very specific about the deliverables and scheduling from the beginning."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Precision Wellness, a company that stands at the confluence of health and nutrition.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We hired Neuron while we were an early-stage startup company. Our team needed someone to build out a vision of what our product would look like. At this time, we had no internal resources in UI/UX. We had crude visual concepts, so we needed a partner to refine the design and form something tangible.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

At the time, we had just acquired a company and were blending the two visions into one. We had a fragmented and dated messaging platform, and we needed to revise that. The next step was establishing a new messaging platform for the company. We needed to ensure it had a competitive map and landscape. After that, we developed a buyer persona and the scope of what the product is trying to solve. They helped us showcase the product’s unique position for the investment community through UX design and branding.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Mark (Director of Strategy, Neuron) as our main point of contact. The other partners in the company also worked with us. The people that we interviewed worked on the project with us, which was great.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

They reached out to us. After researching them and looking at other agencies, we ended up choosing them because we liked them the most. They had a very distinct portfolio and a nimble team. Importantly, Neuron was willing to take a chance on a startup.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in March 2019 and the project is active. We’re still developing our health and nutrition products.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Users and customers have given extremely favorable reviews of our new branding and design. We’ve received some funding for the project as a result.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very specific about the deliverables and scheduling from the beginning. We built out the schedule in reverse, giving specific deadlines we needed. They know their process well; their project management forced us to finalize our requirements for the product.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re motivated, creative, and agile. Their team produces high-quality work and doesn’t cut corners. They want to be successful and hold themselves to a high standard of excellence.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s hard for me to say. They performed exceptionally well; anything that they could’ve done better mostly came from our end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’re ready to have your own house in order. You need to be very clear about what you want.

**The Review** — May 30, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The app was recently launched in the App Store. Despite cultural differences, the team at Neuron delivered high-quality work. Their accommodating approach supplemented the potential for continued engagement. Expect a professional and helpful team.
""We couldn’t have done this without Neuron."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of In the Know, a small company that started about a year ago. We teach Chinese immigrants conversational English.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We hired Neuron to help with the iOS development for our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

After we ran a blog to test our content and seeing that 70% of our followers have iPhones, we decided to create the app with Neuron for iOS first. An Android version should be in future plans. We gave their team an Adobe XD mock-up with a basic interface, but they had to fill in a lot of blanks.

Our app teaches Chinese immigrants conversational English. We have to protect our users, so there could be no pictures, names, or any identifying information. It’s more of a cultural issue, and Neuron understood. They created an environment for this specific reason so that our users feel safer about asking questions and with interactions in general. Their team also helped with brand logo colors and graphics. While we gave them some colors to start in our mock-up, the final colors and compositions, as well as the logo, were all their work.

Matt (Senior UX Designer, Neuron) came up with a lot of the sequence, finding the music and video clips for the short video. I gave him Chinese translations, sentence by sentence, which he then fit into the video.

Additionally, as it is a requirement for the App Store, they created an explainer video and marketing website to prepare for the product launch. It was also an opportunity for us to advertise our product. We gave them information about what we wanted potential users to know about the app, and then they provided suggestions before tackling all the text and graphics.

What is the team composition?

Matt was my main point of contact, but I also worked with Mark (Senior UX/UI Designer, Neuron). Chris (Senior UX Designer, Neuron) was involved in choosing some of the third-party software for our API.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I was briefly at a meetup, and during the ten minutes I was there, I talked to Matt and added him on LinkedIn. About a month later, I approached him, and the engagement started from there.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve invested between $70,000–$80,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Neuron on this project from October 2018–May 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We couldn’t have done this without Neuron. Neuron tried to understand where we were coming from culturally and made the app even better than we thought it would be. Matt could’ve fooled me that he doesn’t understand a word of Chinese. We planned on launching the app this past March or April, but unfortunately, we ran into some approval issues by the App Store. Matt helped us tremendously in getting over that hurdle. Overall, their professional team addressed problems in a timely manner.

The app just launched, so there hasn’t been a lot of traffic yet. I received both Chinese and English versions of the explainer video. Potential investors and partners were pleased. The fact that we have a one-minute video that tells the story for us cuts down time tremendously when having to explain our product. It’s been extremely helpful, and everything was on point.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

I enjoyed working with Matt and Mark because of their responsiveness when answering emails. They promptly answered any of my questions in any format. We used Skype, email, and Zoom to communicate. During our engagement, I was mostly in Beijing, so there was a time difference. In addition, there are several software platforms not acceptable for use in China. Having to switch between software a lot made things difficult. We met online once a week, and they were always accommodating when we had to change times. Because of the time difference, they had to stay up late for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When we saw the end product, we were amazed. The fact that Matt understood what we’re talking about without having learned the language is pretty fantastic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have a bad thing to say about Neuron. When I saw Matt in person, I told him that they were too nice. Communication could be more efficient in the sense that we worked together for so long, and they could be more direct with me.

I definitely hope to work with Neuron on our Android version and hope that both of us can be more direct and straightforward. This could improve efficiency within the process.

**Feedback Summary**: Feedback on Neuron’s work has been extremely positive. Their team is skilled in various topics. Their expertise significantly benefitted the success and structure of the product. Customers can expect an organized and communicative team that delivers on promises.
""Everything I asked for, Neuron delivered."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of a digital health company that acts as a real-time analytics platform, taking data from patients. We focus on patient-generated health data through mobile-connected health biometrics and then the predictive analytics behind that. Our services assist healthcare providers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We’ve worked with Neuron on various small engagements. For this project, we needed a company that would help us figure out an initial brand guide, which included a brand name and color palette. The branding guide needed to match our target market and services. They also needed to assist with our UX/UI on the mobile side of the platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Along with coming up with our entire brand guide, their team also helped with logo design. For the UX portion of the project, I provided Neuron with feature function descriptions, workflows, and personas. I also relayed what our intent and goals were behind the usability of the app. Their team took all of that information and created wireframes and screens during that process.

What is the team composition?

Ryan (Senior UX Designer & Partner, Neuron) was my primary point of contact. Along with their core team, I also interfaced with Chris (Senior UX Designer, Neuron) and Matt (Senior UX Designer & Partner, Neuron). I worked closely with the founder & director as well.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

They were referred to me.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started this project with Neuron in September 2017, and it wrapped up July 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Motorola adopted one of our white-label apps. Feedback regarding the UX has been phenomenal. We plan on working with Neuron again this summer.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was excellent. Their team is communicative and organized. The founder was closely involved in the branding process, assisting with messaging, naming, and logo design. Along with weekly video meetings, we communicate using email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their founders aren’t only knowledgable in graphic design and technical aspects. They have degrees and other experience in topics like architecture. I find that very compelling. The same attention to detail needed in architecture is evident in their work output as designers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything. Everything I asked for, Neuron delivered.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be involved and candid in the process. Neuron is a great team that knows what they’re doing. Utilize them and stay involved. You’ll get more than what you signed up for.

**The Review** — Jan 30, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The high-quality solution received positive feedback from stakeholders. The launch did not meet expectations for reasons outside Neuron’s involvement. The team’s sense of accountability ensured functional deliverables in line with the scope. Expect a team that delivers on time and within budget.
""We were satisfied with the functionality and reliability of their deliverables."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work in venture capital with Altpoint Ventures, which is part of a bigger investment firm, Altpoint Capital. Our firm is also involved in private equity and hedge funds.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We needed a vendor to assist one of our portfolio companies with web development, promo videos, and related work.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a promo video to promote an app for our portfolio company, a modeling agency. After we approved their storyboards, they made the video and invited actors for voiceovers.

They also did full-stack development of a fitness app with responsive web and iOS versions. The app functions as a portal for fitness videos, allowing users to upload their own recordings, which other users can view. We received wireframes on a daily basis in order to make corrections on them, and they gave us monthly builds after that.

They built the web version as a wrapper that could run as an app, while the iOS version was coded in Swift. They created login screens, a paywall, and music layovers, including support for Apple Music and Spotify.

What is the team composition?

Soudy (Co-Founder and Senior Advisor, Neuron) worked as the product manager, and Chris (Senior UX Designer and Strategist, Neuron) later helped him with UI/UX. We worked with another team member for technical development. A couple of our internal team members helped on this project, controlling the code and doing QA.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Soudy was on the board of a UX news and blog website that I liked. One reason we ended up choosing Neuron was their quick response to our request for a proposal. We met for 60–90 minutes to explain what we wanted, and they had a proposal to us the next day.

How much have you invested with them?

Overall, around $100,000. The video was around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2016 and the engagement concluded in January 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We presented the project to some stakeholders, who gave us positive feedback. The app did not perform as well as expected, but that was because of our internal strategy. We’re currently looking to sell the app. We were satisfied with the functionality and reliability of their deliverables, and we contracted with them for other projects. They worked on a second version of the fitness website and app, based on ongoing strategy work.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Soudy and Chris were both effective communicators. They gave us fair estimates for budgeting and scheduling and exceeded both projections only slightly. Our internal team posted everything to Jira and we used that to track the project with Neuron.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed that there were no major errors in the budget or timeline.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I think Neuron underestimated the cost of the project, but they wanted to honor the budget they promised. I’d recommend that clients be careful about the budget for that reason: it can break at some point. Clients should plan thoroughly and keep some reserve funding.

I'm the co-founder and CTO of Oomnitza, which is an IT asset management platform. We assist companies with managing devices that help their business run: laptops, desktops, servers, and some non-traditional connected devices.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We had our product in the market for a few years and we were looking to take our user interface and UX to the next level. We also wanted to do a complete overhaul of our website and position ourselves a little bit stronger in our industry. We needed a vendor to help us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a number of meetings where we discussed our brand guidelines and the message we were trying to convey to our audience. After making sure they fully understand our needs, Neuron helped us redesign our website and our web application. Our website had only three pages, so they added more sections and structure. They also made the website mobile responsive.

We knew we needed to address some UI/UX issues with our web application, but Neuron took that to the next level and proposed a new wireframe that would make things more modern and responsive. They also provided valuable recommendations on how we could improve our website and our application. After that, our in-house team implemented those changes.

What is the team composition?

We mostly worked with a project manager and a designer.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

Our CEO found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $25,000–$50,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our new website is live and we saw a substantial increase in traffic. The general feedback has been very positive and the engagement on the mobile front is on the rise.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They met all of our expectations and even sent us a 400-page document that contained everything we had discussed and the changes they had proposed. We mostly used email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had a very positive experience. We'd be happy to work with them again.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure they have the resources and the time to go through the whole process with you. They understood our brand and our messaging very well, which made the process very effective.

We began with a research phase before moving into multiple UI/UX design, backend system design, and architecture phases. The team then helped develop the overall system and bring it to market.

Neuron also worked with us to develop our product strategy, our positioning, and our brand and brand architecture. They created an explainer video as well as other marketing materials.

"“They put themselves in our shoes to deliver what we needed.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of Enbi Group, a global engineering and manufacturing company. We have five global locations including two manufacturing plants in Europe, two in the US, and one in China.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

Our global online presence was unsophisticated. We had a rudimentary, antiquated website that had been put together a decade ago. It wasn’t as interactive or informative as it needed to be. Our company was gearing up for a process to be sold to investors. We needed a site that matched the quality of our company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron revamped and modernized our WordPress website. They refreshed the design and developed new content based on some critical analysis. They optimized it for tablet and mobile and also provided SEO work.

In the early stages, my CFO and I provided high-level guidance. They then engaged directly with a focal person from my team on a daily basis.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with their CEO as well as three other people including a project manager.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

We were actually introduced by Neuron to a partner of theirs who offered a similar solution. We had a conference call with Neuron and that partner, during which I found the partner’s offering to be over the top and disconnected from what we needed. I had a call with Neuron's CEO to discuss their focus, their past work, and the possibility of them providing the services we needed at our price point. I also visited their offices to do my due diligence. In the end, we pivoted to work with Neuron.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent just under $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2017 and finished work in January 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve received positive feedback on the professionalism of our online presence and the informative nature of the site’s content.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed extremely well. They used a project management tool that allowed us to view the implementation in real time, which was efficient. They were good communicators, both written and verbal. They were flexible in working with our global staff. They managed to effectively engage our colleagues at all of our locations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really understood our needs, our industry, and where we were. They quickly grasped the type of company we are and our position in the industry. They put themselves in our shoes to deliver what we needed. They were also flexible, for example, in creatively devising ways to develop the content we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have clarity on the objectives you’re hiring for. Know what your output should be and your target audiences. I would also suggest that you assign resources upfront that can work with them. Generally, they’re easy to work with.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still in development, so there isn’t much to measure. However, we’ve made minimal changes to Neuron’s original design, probably less than 5%. They created a solid foundation for us to proceed with the project.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They were present and responsive during the entire engagement. The whole team was professional and fantastic to work with. Whenever we presented a new idea, they’d challenge us to make it as good as possible. They had a clear workflow and, even though they’re a smaller organization, were extremely organized and efficient.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The entire team is experienced and knowledgeable, especially with data visualization. They listened to our needs and guided us to excellent solutions. We hope to work with them again soon.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They just moved locations, so it may be harder to have in-person meetings. However, they're still willing to travel and meet with us. They’re pleasant, competent, and engaging.

**The Review** — Jan 8, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Their team has been a tremendous asset thanks to their creativity, customer service skills, and deep expertise. They conduct thorough research and outline project expectations clearly. Having the added ability to perform design work in physical as well as digital space gives them a valuable edge.
"“They excel at thinking interactively and developing rich retail experiences.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Ganderflock, a multicultural marketing and technology development company. We help companies create new business models by leveraging technology, primarily by implementing new systems to achieve their operations needs.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

I needed a strong design team that had the fundamentals down in order to help work with our third-party clients.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They build out a full architectural guide for our client — it’s a massive, 300–400 page document that details the project from start to finish. The first major deliverable in it is a business case study, which provides an outline for all the work we accomplish. Next, they perform market research and identify different customer personas relevant to the client’s market. Once that’s ready, they move on to UX, laying out state-screens and flows for the digital elements of the project. We move on to wireframing after that and also develop specific page elements and test layouts for how the pages will be organized. After that, we add the visual design layer. This includes the colors, font, typography, and an overview the interface will look. From there, they build out a site map and a feature set. This section of the guide determines what kinds of features the final software will have. Neuron interfaces with our clients directly in order to organize what they want, which helps avoid scope creep as we finalize the project.

In addition to handling all of the digital architecture for building e-commerce experiences, their team is also capable of handling the blueprints and interior design of physical stores. We had a local client who asked us what he could do with a physical space he was rebuilding and Neuron put together a full design for it. It’s not a skill many other UX companies can offer and it’s been very valuable to us and our clients who are revamping their businesses.

What is the team composition?

For our first project, we had a team of five people who rotated in and out. There are always at least two people available whenever we work together.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I met one of their co-founders at a local networking event in 2013. He’s an extremely talented UX designer who did a redesign for a major e-commerce platform and he also had experience doing system redesigns for big clients. I was eager to work with him.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2016 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They successfully provided a design team that helped us execute the redesign of a big-name client and reduce bounce rates for their e-commerce platform. Without Neuron, we wouldn’t have been able to complete the work. They have a relentless focus on really understanding the end user and developing appropriate solutions to meet their needs. Their architectural guide has also really sold our clients on working with a contractor because it’s so thorough and delivered up front. They know exactly what they’re getting.

We’ve also benefited from their people skills. They’re personable and deliver critical information to clients or prospective clients in a comprehensible, which has helped us win several deals. Working with them has also changed our sales process because they have such deep expertise that we can trust them to join on those calls with us.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

They offer plenty of availability and are flexible in scheduling their team according to our needs. I’ve been impressed with how well they communicate, both with us and with our clients. They hold daily standups and have a solid project management infrastructure in place. They’re very proactive about letting us know what they need, when they need it, and how a project is progressing. We use tools like Slack and Google Drive, as well as traditional meetings, in order to keep projects organized. They even do intake questions with our clients, which has been extremely helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their whole team’s previous work experience gives them an edge. There are former architects, as well as fashion and industrial designers, so they can build incredible online/offline experiences. Other UX companies don’t have this same scope of vision or diverse expertise. I know I can bring this team into a situation where an owner’s working in a new building and let them come up with both the physical and technological plans we need. They excel at thinking interactively and developing rich retail experiences.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They need to add electronic signature functionality to a lot of their documents. I’d like to have it on things like proposals, scopes of work, and invoices.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have much to add. Work with them if you have the opportunity.

**The Review** — Dec 21, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Metrics from the project allowed for meaningful changes to the UX to guide user behavior. Neuron managed the project well and were easy to work with. Their designs were effective and contributed to business goals.
"“They included the right stakeholders at advantageous moments and made sure everything moved in the right direction.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work as a consultant with a humanitarian fundraising organization. We also work with a variety of initiatives to help hire appropriate labor, establish the right news feed messaging features, and address other needs.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?
Our CEO hired them to design and develop important features and functionality, including user profiles and other deliverables.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Much of the project was completed before I joined the company, so I worked with some of the follow up processes after the concrete deliverables were in hand. Some of those included a detailed product outline with screens and intricate backend work on user profiles and personas. They built the backend on Ruby on Rails and the frontend in React. I assessed the work to suggest additional solutions to improve the business impact further. We brainstormed optimizations to target the necessary KPIs.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five or six individuals, possibly seven. There was a creative lead, a design lead who doubled as an operational manager, and a team of three to five designers and developers.
How did you come to work with Neuron?
Our CEO found them before I joined the project.
How much have you invested with them?
I wasn’t responsible for the monetary side, but I think the project was around $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We kicked off the engagement around January 2017 and finished the larger portion of the project in July 2017. After that, we reengaged them for some specific design projects and problem solving.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m really happy with all the hard work they did. When the beta test launched, we collected data on user behavior. Their designs were well balanced, and they made helpful changes to make sure user registrations were up. They were receptive to our goals and helped us brainstorm ways to execute and suit our needs.
How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was good, and they always knew when to loop people into the conversation. They included the right stakeholders at advantageous moments and made sure everything moved in the right direction and got delivered on time. Most of our conversations were through Slack, emails, and by phone when necessary.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really enjoyed working with them. Our main goals were a good user experience and appropriate metrics to demonstrate the efficacy of the project. They really helped make those happen.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It was a large project, and they handled it very well. I don’t have any constructive feedback for them. They were always reactive and never made the same mistake twice.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communication is key; make sure both sides understand the project. Neuron is a smart, receptive team, and the more information you give them, the more they will be able to help. The only instances where things took longer than expected were times when we didn’t clearly explain our goal.

**The Review** — Dec 20, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The team expertly coordinated with several external stakeholders and delivered exceptional designs and videos. Neuron’s professionalism, dedication, and expertise distinguished them. An efficient team, they provided a competitive edge in a crowded field.
""They had a comprehensive understanding of the different factors that go into successful products, services, and platforms."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a user experience and industrial design consultant at Orbit Interaction.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

One of our clients was developing concepts for two major corporations. We needed a vendor to help with the various components of the project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped produce interactive prototypes, documentation, and videos. The team also provided work around a community-based mobile application that provides users with a way to store their medical records. They did the research, digital strategy, the business strategy, mobile app development, and the UX/UI architecture. The platform utilized crowdsourcing to find providers and determine costs for different kinds of medical providers. However, the solution never materialized because its leadership decided to go in a different direction.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Mark (Senior UX/UI Designer, Neuron), Ryan (Senior UX/UI Designer, Neuron), Chris (Senior UX Designer and Strategist, Neuron), Matt (Senior UX Designer and Lead Visual Designer, Neuron), and Michelle (UX Designer, Neuron).

How did you come to work with Neuron?

This project was instituted by one of the funders that I was working with. When the opportunity arose to develop this platform, we were already in the process of working with Neuron and had them take the lead on the project.

Neuron was founded by my long-time co-consulting partner. He had been a professor teaching interaction design and UX architecture. He handpicked a number of his very best students to start Neuron. They operated in the same way that I had done consulting projects with him in the past.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together from February–September 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The businesses I was associated with fizzled out for reasons unconnected to the design quality and platform sophistication. Neuron’s work was excellent. The videos, prototypes, and designs were stunning, and got a lot of praise. They’re really good at what they do.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Mark was extremely sharp and professional. There was a coalition of groups working on the project including some difficult people on the client side. Mark deftly managed around those issues, especially during the most challenging projects. We coordinated through email and phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team’s architectural background distinguished them from the competition. They had a comprehensive understanding of the different factors that go into successful products, services, and platforms. Their research on competitive platform designs for the medical project was particularly impressive. Neuron was efficient and document their work more regularly than most design firms.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I hope they continue to grow and expand, and maybe get into physical product design work as well. They have the breadth and expertise to continue branching out.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

To be the most effective, work very closely with them. Communicate as much as possible about the needs and goals. Work with them to flush those out and get them to work.

I’ve watched a lot of consultancies charge clients a lot of money to provide something that wasn’t a full solution. In contrast, Neuron does top-notch and comprehensive work. They’re thinking about all the angles and perspectives that go into a project.

**Feedback Summary**: Conversion rates increased a significant amount. Neuron created a clear and modernized platform that benefitted the company’s client. Their honest team was disciplined. Their collaborative approach complemented their project management. Expect a team that delivers on time and within budget.
""I’ve worked with numerous digital design agencies and freelancers, but not anyone like Neuron."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a business strategy firm focused on helping companies create new ways to grow their diverse talent pipeline.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Neuron?

We were consulting with a school whose mission was to increase the presence of women in software engineering and build confidence in those making a career change. The school offers a 12-week immersive boot camp where, upon completion, women will graduate as software engineers.

The school's digital marketing efforts and website had minimal tracking/analytics and was not set up for re-marketing, which, in turn, affected enrollment. Our job was to grow their leads through trackable marketing strategies and an updated website that increase conversion. The website was content-heavy, but challenging to read through and search for information.

Women were looking for deep information about the school's curriculum and admissions. They need to be reassured they have what it takes to become a software engineer, regardless of their current career experience. The company also didn’t have enough money for a much-needed brand redesign, so I needed to hire an agency that could design a functional lead-generation site and rebrand, all in one.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Neuron rebuilt the company’s WordPress backend. The client wanted to keep the site on WordPress because they wanted to make changes themselves. Neuron geared the customized UX/UI design to attract women leaning toward changing careers and getting them to apply to the program. They created the branding exercise component, crafting appropriate colors, fonts, and more for the website. Their team also modernized the logo with a stylish font.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a lead designer and developer, along with a specialist in visual branding, and a designer that assisted with the flow and wireframes.

How did you come to work with Neuron?

I’ve worked with one of their founders on various projects over the last decade. He co-founded Neuron and I asked if he could take on this job.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $75,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Neuron from January–June 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the reasons I hired Neuron was that their founders understood how to get users to move through a website easily and logically. It was a hard problem to solve given women's apprehension to a career in tech, but their team accomplished the goal. They took an incredible amount of time doing competitive research and interviews. Getting into the minds of how women think and what their barriers to entry are was key to the redesign.

We drove a lot of marketing through Facebook, but people started staying longer on the website than usual. Our conversion rates to generate leads increased by 30-40%. We needed users to enroll, and it had to be a logical and straightforward path to get there. Neuron was the perfect partner for the job.

How did Neuron perform from a project management standpoint?

Neuron’s well-organized team over-delivered throughout the engagement. They were delivered within deadlines and on budget. I received access to their tracking tool and saw the project’s progression. Communicating with Neuron was easy. We met in person a couple of times and had several conference calls.

With design teams, it is nice to have a working session. We had one where we finalized about 75% of the wireframes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with numerous digital design agencies and freelancers, but not anyone like Neuron. Their team exceeds expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we worked with them, they’d just started Neuron and were still working on assigning set roles. They've since fixed that now.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

My advice to potential clients would be setting everything up during the proposal process. I’d also make sure that a proposal includes a competitive analysis and in-person meeting to review wireframes. This process saves time in the long run. Communication tools are helpful, but meeting face-to-face is where the efficient collaboration can make a difference.

## Portfolio & Awards

### Listrak - Marketing Automation Platform
Listrak is a robust marketing automation platform, developed over two decades and trusted by over 1,000 retailers and brands, including SharkNinja, Godiva, Elemis, and more. It empowers businesses to orchestrate and optimize customer engagement.
Neuron partnered with Listrak to address significant design debt accumulated over the years due to its rapidly growing, feature-rich solution. Our collaboration aimed not just at redesigning the existing interface, but also at crafting a powerful new tool to meet diverse marketing needs and simplified multi-channel communication.

### Vendr - SaaS Procurement Workflow Builder
Vendr is an innovative SaaS platform which is reshaping the procurement industry with over $1 billion in SaaS purchases with 500+ enterprise customers worldwide. Vendr’s core goal is to enable companies to find, buy and manage SaaS at the best price and the right time.
After listening to the needs of their users, Vendr came to Neuron to design a product feature that allowed their customers to construct workflows that help automate the internal requests for new SaaS software at their organizations.
We designed a “human-in-the-loop” workflow builder for the admins to bring structure and automation to their organization’s inefficient, convoluted, or outdated processes, positioning Vendr as the source of truth for the growing need for en-to-end SaaS management.
The tool allows “builders” to visually construct workflows that map out their process, assign tasks to the right stakeholders at the right time, and easily set up conditional logic to streamline the approval or rejection of software requests.

### Final Round AI - AI-powered Interview Copilot
Final Round AI is a copilot for interviewees and works like a magical teleprompter in real-time by listening to the interviewer’s questions and outputting the best answers to their questions.
They were seeing strong sign-up numbers but drop-off during onboarding was high, so they hired Neuron to improve their onboarding experience.

### AcuityMD - Medical Sales CRM
AcuityMD is a purpose built web application for medical device companies to drive product sales and provide unparalleled market insights. Their platform tackles the hard task of connecting external market data and product information with a device company’s internal sales data - resulting in up-to-date information on every sales opportunity in the medical device industry.
AcuityMD worked with Neuron on the second version of their product to deliver an improved experience while also implementing new and more robust features. Together, we focused in on helping medical device sales representatives to not just ‘close the sale’, but to build long-term relationships with the healthcare providers who use their products to care of patients.

### Flo - Product-led Growth for #1 Women’s Health App
Flo is a reproductive health app for women with more than 33 million monthly users. When they needed a strategic design partner to help increase capacity and offer a new perspective on increasing the perceived value of their premium subscriptions, they chose Neuron. With retention in mind, Neuron worked with Flo’s product team to reimagine their reporting features, ultimately designing a dashboard that helps women understand and compare their cycle data quickly.Flo’s existing Cycle Report feature sent users information about their cycle with a virtual assistant. In the early stages of our engagement we determined that the content was very valuable to users, but that the format could be improved. We replaced the existing chat experience with a dashboard to make the information easier to digest. Our team worked with Flo’s product team and consulting physician to understand which information was most important for the different user types. By increasing the free users’ cycle report to include more data, we hope to pique their interest in learning about their cycle monthly.

### SmarterD - ERP for IT & Security Management
SmarterD is a risk-based cybersecurity management platform that simplifies and automates operational goals and strategic risk management across the enterprise. SmarterD is designed to integrate IT, security, and project management systems into a single application.
SmarterD engaged Neuron to design a user-friendly interface that improved the application’s structure, interaction model, and modernized its front-end.

### Enstall - End-to-End Solar Project Management
In an effort to continue providing the most innovative and comprehensive tools, Enstall came to Neuron with a desire to transform their digital services. Tailored for solar installation businesses, this digitization expanded Enstall’s capabilities beyond product-centric hardware to embrace customer-centric software solutions.
Our findings from the strategy phase revealed a fragmented landscape where disparate sales, design, and management tools operate independently – resulting in inefficient processes throughout the journey to completing a single installation.
Understanding the broader needs and pain points that installation businesses face surfaced an overwhelming need for a centralized method to manage operations and oversee installation projects from beginning to end.
Our engagement on the UX/UI design side was to create a single platform housing an interconnected suite of digital tools to guide businesses through the entire installation journey.

The system also gives managers, directors, and C-level stakeholders insight into the performance of each rep, team, office, and region.
The design of the sales portal is centered around a modular dashboard of widgets. In the dashboard’s default state, all widgets are collapsed and display only the most crucial information. Widgets can be expanded in-place to reveal more details, always maintaining the context of the dashboard behind. The modular design allows for layout customization and supports future extensibility.

But because of the poor first-time user experience and confusing booking flow, they saw significant drop-off with few users actually booking sessions. Through a heuristic evaluation we identified several usability and functional issues and subsequently redesigned these flows to provide a more guided and intuitive experience.

It was as much an exercise in branding as it was user experience, to create a look and feel that resonated with the target audience, primarily private pilots.
Central to the experience of the application is a dashboard that enables pilots to quickly and easily view their schedule, add flights, and set up the vital information to execute them, such as assigning an aircraft and crew or coordinating multiple flight legs into more complex routes.

### FutureDial - Reverse Logistics Testing Software
FutureDial creates software and robotic tools to facilitate the complex process of receiving and testing used phones and tablets. Their product line was built out over time, following client demand, and they needed a new website to feature their many products in a logical and unified way.
Neuron worked with FutureDial to redesign their Functional Testing software, which is used to assess the functional state of used mobile phones and tablets prior to refurbishment. A single operator may monitor the testing of as many as 40 devices at once, so an intuitive and scannable interface was the highest priority.
Neuron was also engaged to design a new marketing website for the FutureDial. The company serves a range of customer types, most of whom are focused on just one part of the reverse supply chain. We were faced with the challenge of organizing the website in a way that was clear and intuitive to each customer type without distracting or impeding the rest. Through numerous iterations of customer journey maps and low-fidelity wireframes we arrived at one that struck the right balance.

### City of Everett - Designing a Virtual City Hall
Everett, MA is a diverse and rapidly growing city located just outside Boston. In recent years the City’s economy and population has been burgeoning but dated civic infrastructure has struggled to keep up. The City website was no exception. We were tasked with overhauling the site to be an intuitive task completion and information tool while significantly reducing physical traffic to city hall. Through research, iteration, and testing, Neuron crafted an approachable utilitarian experience where Everett citizens can easily get their business done online. Bringing coherence and consistency to the site required strong IA, UX, and visual design chops, but the effort also required a huge amount of empathy, patience, and negotiation. In the end unique pages on the site were reduced from 396 to 63. To do this we drastically shallowed the experience and created three primary page types: Inside Homepage - These pages are treated like brochures or guides, and are created for all secondary navigation items. Currently, 71 percent of visitors enter the Everett website via interior pages. Endpoint Page - Endpoint pages are the deepest level of the site where detailed content and actionable affordances are provided. These pages also present associated information based on context and user intent. Transaction Pages - These pages are used to focus the user on the task at hand. As task completion is the primary goal of the site, the user must either fulfill the steps required to complete the task and exit the modality or abandon the task altogether.

The platform presents unique investment opportunities to those who wish to participate in the burgeoning cryptocurrency and blockchain economy. Although cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are rapidly becoming more mainstream, many are still unfamiliar with how it works and are intimidated by the idea of participating.

Our challenge was to make the convoluted world of cryptocurrency universally understandable and accessible to new adopters. This meant opting for clear copy over technical jargon and designing a clean, modern UI that looked more like a consumer product than a technical financial tool.

### Cards for Causes
Each year businesses send hundreds of cards to clients and employees as a way of saying thanks. Neuron has been involved in Projects for Good since its inception in 2016. From early design principles through development and operations, Neuron helped to conceptualize, design, build, and launch the web platform.

The greatest design challenge was designing a new type of platform in a way that was universally understandable to three distinct user types. This meant distilling everything the platform does down to its core offering: maximizing impact. The increased efficiency, transparency, and accountability all amounts to maximizing each user’s impact - a mission that was carried through all facets of the platform’s design, messaging, and functionality.

### VYTL Fitness
The VYTL Fitness mobile app is a social fitness platform designed to empower users with control over how they exercise. VYTL, created by the parent company of Ford Models, allows users to browse, upload, watch, and share exercise videos.
The Neuron team was brought in during the early stages of concept development, helping to define the value proposition, features, and interaction model. We were also responsible for the full design and front-end development.
Users of the app can browse, watch, upload, and share short exercise videos called Clips, which can then be assembled to build custom Workouts, much like a music playlist. Users may also discover other users’ Clips and Workouts by browsing what is recommended, trending, or recently added as well as by theme (channel) or by creator.
The strong social element of the application helps users stay motivated in their training. The app also provides the ability to follow friends and favorite trainers, as well as tracking various social and fitness-related metrics via the Dashboard feature.

### Hackbright Academy
Hackbright Academy is the leading software engineering school exclusively for women. Through education, mentorship, and a successful alumnae network, Hackbright Academy is working hard to narrow the gender gap that currently exists in the computer science industry.
Neuron was challenged with giving Hackbright Academy an edge in an increasingly competitive market by providing a modern brand redesign, a fresh logo, and an updated marketing website.

We began by conducting an in-depth analysis of Hackbright’s existing marketing website. After documenting a full inventory of the content and structure, we then re-imagined the site from the ground up.
By consolidating the top-level navigation to three key sections and strategically layering the information beneath, the redesigned marketing site is able to more effectively engage prospective students regardless of where they are in the sales funnel. Throughout the site, animations and interactive elements, such as a coding aptitude quiz, create an enjoyable and memorable experience for all users.
The full case study can be found here: https://www.neuronux.com/hackbright

### Commonly Asked Questions

**What is your team's process like for onboarding new clients?**
We begin every engagement with a structured discovery phase called SPARK, designed to quickly align on business goals, user needs, product vision, and technical constraints. During this phase, we conduct stakeholder interviews, audit existing products (if applicable), review analytics and user data, and map out the competitive landscape.

From there, we define project scope, timelines, key milestones, and success metrics (KPIs) so everyone is aligned on what success looks like. This foundation allows us to move efficiently into user research, UX strategy, product design, and iterative validation, ensuring every design decision is grounded in both user insight and business impact.

**How do you measure success?**
We measure success through a combination of user experience outcomes and business performance metrics. On the user side, we look at improvements in usability, task completion rates, engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction (UX KPIs and usability testing results).

On the business side, we evaluate impact through conversion rates, activation rates, revenue growth, product adoption, and feature utilization. We also track qualitative feedback from users and stakeholders to ensure the product is not only performing better but also delivering a more intuitive and valuable experience.

Ultimately, success means creating measurable improvements in both product performance and user experience quality.

**Do you work with startups or enterprise teams?**
Yes! While we primarily work with large enterprise organizations, we also partner with SMB's and early-stage startups.

For startups, we often focus on MVP design, product strategy, rapid prototyping, and validating product-market fit. This includes helping founders translate ideas into scalable digital products quickly and efficiently.

For enterprise teams, we specialize in optimizing complex systems, legacy platforms, and large-scale digital ecosystems. This typically involves improving enterprise UX, design systems, workflow efficiency, and cross-functional product alignment across teams.

In both cases, our goal is to create scalable, user-centered product experiences that support long-term growth.

**What deliverables can we expect?**
Deliverables vary depending on project scope and phase, but typically include a full range of product design and UX artifacts such as:

- User research findings and strategic insights
- User personas and journey maps
- Information architecture and UX flows
- Low-fidelity wireframes and interaction models
- High-fidelity UI designs and responsive layouts
- Interactive prototypes for testing and validation
- Design systems, component libraries, and style guides

We ensure all deliverables are structured to support both product development teams and engineering handoff, enabling smooth implementation and scalable design consistency.

**What industries do you specialize in?**
We specialize in B2B software and AI-driven digital products, with deep experience across high-growth and data-rich environments.

Our core industry expertise includes enterprise software, SaaS platforms, artificial intelligence (AI/ML products), financial services, sales enablement tools, project management platforms, HR tech, and healthcare systems.

We particularly excel in designing for complex workflows, enterprise user needs, data-heavy interfaces, and multi-user systems, helping organizations simplify complexity and create more intuitive, efficient digital experiences.
