The project involves developing a mobile application for iOS and Android from scratch, fully integrated with our existing e-commerce platform. Key deliverables include a user-friendly UI/UX, product listing and detail pages, user authentication, shopping cart and checkout flow, order tracking, push notification infrastructure, performance optimization, analytics integration, and support for App Store and Google Play deployment.

100% of the initial project milestones have been completed according to the planned timeline. The design phase was completed on schedule, and development of the core features is progressing according to the planned sprint schedule.

Their project management has been well-organized and transparent throughout the process. All deliverables have been completed on schedule. The team responded quickly to our needs, incorporated our feedback efficiently, and implemented necessary changes in a timely manner. Our experience has been very positive so far. Since the project is still in development, we haven't identified any significant areas for improvement. As the project progresses, we look forward to continuing to receive proactive optimization ideas and recommendations based on user feedback.

I’m the founder of VOXX SPORTS d.o.o., where I lead the product vision for an AI-powered running coach. VOXX combines data from the wearables runners already use with their training goals and recovery context to create and dynamically adjust personalized training plans. Our goal is to give runners a clear recommendation on what to do next, whether that means training as planned, reducing intensity, or prioritizing recovery.

What challenge were you trying to address with Neon Apps?

We hired Neon Apps to develop our running app, with the core objective of turning wearable data into clear, adaptive guidance. The app needed to integrate data from devices runners already use, such as Apple Watch, Oura Ring, and WHOOP, and use those inputs to support dynamically adjusted training plans.The key goal was to avoid overwhelming runners with charts or retrospective data. Instead, we wanted a simple, intuitive experience that tells each runner what to do next: whether to push, take it easier, or adjust the upcoming session based on their progress and current readiness. Neon Apps was responsible for building this product foundation while ensuring the complex wearable-data integrations and AI-driven plan adjustments worked reliably in the background.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Neon Apps has handled the end-to-end development of the VOXX mobile application and its AI-enabled coaching experience. Their scope has included building the core product flows and interface for onboarding, training profile and goal setup, personalized training-plan generation, daily workout guidance, plan and calendar management, and the Coach experience.A central part of their work has been building the application and AI layer that makes imported wearable and health data useful to the runner. VOXX combines data from users’ existing wearable ecosystems with training context and recovery signals to support readiness insights and dynamic plan adjustments. The goal is not to create another data dashboard but a simple daily decision interface that tells runners whether to proceed as planned, reduce intensity, rest, or adjust the next session and explains why.Neon Apps has also developed the supporting user, preference, data-presentation, and notification experiences, with a strong focus on making a complex product intuitive and easy to use. They’ve been a key technology partner in turning our product vision into a usable mobile platform.Neon Apps has delivered the complete VOXX application layer around the external wearable-data service. They’ve designed, built, and integrated the mobile app’s core frontend and backend infrastructure, including user onboarding and profiles, training-goal setup, personalized training-plan creation and management, daily workout and calendar experiences, readiness and recovery insights, adaptive plan recommendations, AI coaching features, notifications, and user settings.They’ve also integrated Terra’s unified API into the VOXX ecosystem and built the logic and user experience that turns incoming wearable and health data into useful training guidance. In other words, Terra provides the standardized connection to the user’s existing wearable ecosystem, while Neon Apps has built the product that receives, interprets, presents, and acts on that data.Our internal team has defined the product vision, priorities, and requirements and provided ongoing feedback. Terra has been the only major third-party technology provider, supplying the wearable-data API. Neon Apps has delivered and connected the remaining application components.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because the project is still in development, it would be premature to measure success through user acquisition, retention, or revenue KPIs. At this stage, the most meaningful outcomes have been delivery-focused.Neon Apps has consistently completed the agreed project milestones and deliverables within the planned timelines. This includes the key application infrastructure, product features, and integrations required to support our AI-powered coaching experience. They’ve also been effective at translating a technically complex product vision into a certain, usable platform while maintaining momentum and meeting the scope agreed for each phase.We’ll evaluate post-launch product metrics once the platform is live and we have sufficient user data. Based on execution against scope, quality, and timeline, we consider the project successful to date.A clear example of their success has been the delivery of the Phase 1 VOXX MVP, structured around the agreed product milestones. Neon Apps has delivered the core user journey, including the UI/UX foundation, login and signup, onboarding, and the Home experience with Today’s Index, activity sync, today’s workout, and timeline.They’ve also delivered the full training-plan module, including viewing, managing, creating, and rescheduling plans, as well as the Insights section, AI Coach, settings, and notifications. Together, these features have created the usable foundation for an adaptive running-coaching platform rather than a collection of disconnected screens.The work has reached a testable TestFlight stage, allowing us to review the end-to-end product and move into the refinement cycle. As with any ongoing software project, testing has identified areas for further improvement, but Neon Apps has delivered the agreed core modules in line with the phased development plan and created a strong foundation for the next stage of the product.At this stage, we’ve assessed quality primarily through internal acceptance testing and TestFlight review rather than post-launch user or revenue metrics.Our benchmarks have focused on whether the core product flows work reliably and as intended: onboarding and account setup, training-plan creation and management, daily workout guidance, wearable-data synchronization, the accuracy and consistency of displayed training information, AI-driven recommendations, navigation, and clear loading, success, and error states. We’ve also evaluated whether the app remains intuitive and easy to use despite the complexity of the underlying data.The build is now close to completion. Our internal testing has shown positive results against these benchmarks, and the core experience is performing as intended. We’re currently fine-tuning a small number of remaining items identified through testing before the final release. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the quality and progress of the delivered work.

They’ve kept the work organized, maintained clear communication, and ensured that priorities, progress, and next steps have been consistently well managed throughout the project.They’ve delivered the agreed work on time and handled feedback in a professional, efficient way. Beyond meeting our expectations, they’ve shown strong ownership of the project and a proactive approach to solving problems. What did you find most impressive about them?

What has impressed me most is how quickly Neon Apps has understood the product vision and the complexity behind it. On the surface, the app is designed to feel simple and intuitive for runners, but behind that experience sits a significant amount of wearable data, processing logic, adaptive training functionality, and user-focused decision-making. Neon Apps has understood that balance early and handled the complexity very well without losing sight of the end-user experience.I’ve also been impressed by how responsive and cooperative the team has been throughout the project. Our main contact and project manager have been highly available, quick to respond, and proactive in discussing challenges and finding solutions. That combination of technical capability, strong communication, and genuine willingness to solve problems has made the collaboration stand out.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve seen good results from the app. I’ve even received an offer to sell it for a higher price than what I paid. However, I want to keep it because it has more potential. I want to work with Neon Apps to polish the app and move forward. Regarding market revenue, it could be better; however, Neon Apps doesn't work on our app's visibility. The app is still basic, which is good at the beginning, but it needs to be polished.

How did Neon Apps perform from a project management standpoint?

Neon Apps' project management is excellent. The team is super responsive and helpful, and I haven't had any issues with them. Sometimes, Neon Apps needs more time to deliver, but I don't have any worries about it.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Zeynep joined the project 2–3 months ago, and it’s been beneficial. We've had an issue with communication before. When I developed some feedback for the product, we had to wait 5–10 weeks for Neon Apps to respond. However, since Zeynep joined the project, communication has become easier.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Neon Apps is very responsible and friendly. The team is also very handy and ready to solve all our issues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the beginning of the development, I had several waves of comments, and Neon Apps couldn't solve all of them, which was frustrating. The team could also hire a freelancer to solve the issues I have with my app. We've also experienced some problems with web design within the app that Neon Apps couldn't address since they don't have a web engineer on their team.
