Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the Creative Producer on the project, working for the branded content and sales solutions arm of News UK.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Nemorin Film & Video, and what were your goals?

We had a client that needed to shoot out in Turkey, with multiple experiences, but needed the crew to be flexible on the ground and willing to explore a narrative that materialised on the ground. Our goals where to show two different types of holiday, one for families and one for couples, both could be catered for by our client.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had seen that Nemorin had previous experience shooting abroad, and also knew that they had extensive experience within the world pf branded content, understanding the tight rope walk between client and stakeholder.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We talked through the creative process using base scripts and storyboards, but pre-production was mostly a case of logistically working out the excursions and working out shoot dates, the creative was to be shaped by those trips and the experiences the talent got on the day. Nemorin were flexible, organised and clear about how they would achieve the creative targets and deliver us 2 hero videos with 3 social cut downs of each video.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked closely with the CEO, Producer and Director throughout, then having close contact with the post producer who was very quick and helpful turning around feedback and last min changes requested by the client.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is yet to spend any meaningful time out in public, but gauging the quality of the work and where it's going to sit we expect to hit the targets we set on the original sale of the piece.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Both sets of Producers were able to work to our timelines and work closely with us whilst changes were requested. Our smartsheets based workflow was helpful in the beginning of the process to timeline the schedules, with Jack being particularly adept at working out what to do.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There were no concerns on their part about what was a quick turn-around project with a client who seemed to have specific requirements that sometimes changed in pre-production and production itself. They were fast paced, flexible, and dealt with talent in a very professional way. Nemorin Film & Video was professional and clear from the beginning.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We all worked to a tight deadline to try and get the videos turned around as quickly as we could.

I’m the head of commercial strategy for APL Media Limited, a UK-based publishing house.

What challenge were you trying to address with Nemorin Film & Video?

Nemorin has helped us with video production — they’ve produced a lot of our content.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nemorin is our go-to video production partner. We have internal editors and scriptwriters, but Nemorin does a lot of the pre-production work, scriptwriting, planning, and logistics. They also help us with scheduling and work with our clients on scoping briefs to ensure that the projects run smoothly; they handle everything. For the projects, they also provide their own equipment and handle audio mixing, video editing, and motion graphics.

We publish National Geographic Traveller (UK), and most of our branded video content is produced by Nemorin. We also hold the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival, for which Nemorin edits all our videos. Additionally, they film our APL Media Lifestyle content and help us with specific campaign briefs.

What is the team composition?

We work with various people across their entire company, including Pete (CEO & Founder), Graham (COO & Content Director), and the producers and editors. Given that we work on many projects, we’re always working with different members of their team.

How did you come to work with Nemorin Film & Video?

I’ve known Nemorin for a long time because I worked with Pete several years ago at another organization. After he left, he set up his own company. Given my experience working with him, I knew that the quality of Nemorin’s work would be great.

Pete has always been driven by the quality of his outputs rather than the money. After all these years working with Nemorin, I can say that they’re an experienced video content producing house. For a company to work with us, they have to be the best in the market, and Nemorin is the best in the market for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

APL Media has been working with them since September 2018, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback on the content produced by Nemorin has been phenomenal. Some of our videos have 97% of likes and an 80%–90% view-through rate, which is very important for us. 

In terms of the quality of the outputs, Nemorin’s videos are almost perfect. In every project, they go the extra mile to ensure we get the best outcome. Whenever we used other video production partners, we ended up bringing Nemorin to re-edit the content for us because it didn’t meet the standard they had accustomed us to. Now, we don’t work with anyone else.

How did Nemorin Film & Video perform from a project management standpoint?

Nemorin keeps us on target and delivers on time and budget. We typically communicate via Google Meet, Zoom, phone calls, and text messages.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nemorin’s entire service is led by passion.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing Nemorin can improve on. They produce videos for National Geographic Traveller (UK) — it doesn’t get any better than that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Call them and tell them your idea and budget; they’ll tell you what is possible.

I’m deputy editor for the content team at a famous department store.

What challenge were you trying to address with Nemorin Film & Video?

We wanted to make an editorial video discussing an upcycle of one of our products, and we employed Nemorin to oversee the production.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we had a series of meetings with Nemorin to spell out the content. They put producers on the project to help storyboard with us. From there, they built a bespoke team of specialists who came together at our studio and completed filming in one day. The Nemorin team handled end-to-end production, including lighting, sound, and camera work. 

I worked closely with Nemorin to get the edits right and complete post-production. The video includes some simple animations and graphics; we made some of these graphics, and they made some themselves. The finished product is about five minutes long. The team also edited shorter teasers for social media.

What is the team composition?

We worked with eight people from Nemorin. The team included two producers, a director, a DOP, a B-Cam operator, a gaffer, and an audio operator. From our side, our internal production team was also involved. 

How did you come to work with Nemorin Film & Video?

I had previously worked at a publishing house, and Nemorin had worked on a project there. They came highly recommended, so they went into a mix of three production companies to which we tendered the project, and they won. Because this was a slightly complex video, we decided to go with Nemorin because they’re extremely well-regarded and experienced. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The video has been on YouTube for about six weeks and has done incredibly well. We’ve had 405,000 views, which is fabulous because we initially aimed for 200,000. We’ve also embedded the video on our website and posted the cuts to social media, putting paid social behind them. 

How did Nemorin Film & Video perform from a project management standpoint?

They were incredible across the board — professional and mature in their approach. We felt like we were in a safe pair of hands throughout. Google Meet was our communication tool. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated that Nemorin was willing to go the extra mile to make everything work. Moreover, they were delightful people who were lovely to work with, creative, and enthusiastic. They built a really brilliant team of experienced people who turned up with a great attitude that continued throughout the process; it was fun to be on set with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no criticism for them whatsoever.
