I am the Chairman of the Barbados Diaspora Collaborative, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation whose mission is to support projects, and initiatives and targeted at improving the lives of the Barbadian community through systemic development in the areas of health care, culture and the arts.

Our web site was 5 years old and dated with declining metrics and in need of refreshing. As a small non-profit with an all volunteer staff and no in-house technical expertise, Media Solutions, LLC worked within our budget to guide us through redesigning our website at a reasonable cost.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of redesigning the website was to prioritize fundraising for the establishment of a hospice in Barbados. It needed to be engaging and emotive given the nature of the initiative. Media Solutions, LLC was able to accomplish this to our satisfaction.

We were aware of, and impressed by NB Media Solutions website design work for another small non-profit with which we have a relationship. We also considered the company that developed the original website. We used a consultant PR professional to help us make the final decision.

The turnaround time for initial designs was quick and took about 3 weeks. The COVID-19 pandemic caused us to slow down the project but once we fully reengaged, MB Media Solutions was quick to respond, usually within days, to queries and suggestions for modifications relayed through our consultant.

What was the team composition?

Our consultant worked with a two person team from our organization who was initially the direct link to NB Media Solutions. In the late stages, our team had direct contacts with NB Media Solutions

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There have been many positive comments on the website but the COVID-19 pandemic has generally put a damper on fundraising for small nonprofits such as ours. A positive is that our year end appeal was better than expected and we are in the process of developing novel strategies which will utilize our web presence.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our consultant had an excellent working relationship with us and NB Media Solutions. There was always easy bidirectional flow of information and designs. Email was heavy utilized. In my direct interactions, emails were invariably responded to in less than 24 hours with guidance and suggestions when appropriate.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

This was a very positive experience. Even though we had a consultant working with us, direct contact with NB Media Solutions was always notable for competence, patience and professionalism.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was satisfied with the timeline for the development of the website. The COVID-19 pandemic did have some impact on us, but not on slow things down on our end but not on NB Media Solutions.

We wanted an fresh, updated website with a lot of beautiful photos of our nature preserve with all of the necessary components.

Since I had already started to dabble with the new site on Wix, NB Media Solutions jumped in, gave suggestions and listened to our objectives. The most difficult challenge was to design a new interactive map, which was done first.

After that, the website came into place nicely, with the NB Media team asking for input, making suggestions and getting everything done in a timely manner.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager, however once the project took off, I mostly only heard from the two designers. We never had any issues, so the project manager never really had to step back in...although she did check up once throughout the process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a beautiful new website and we are thrilled with the results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I pride myself on being very responsive when someone emails me, but NB Media Solutions is even better! Our project has been "complete" for sometime, but they have been very responsive whenever something extra comes up and they handle it immediately.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It's hard to choose! But I would say their responsiveness was most impressive. IIn a time when some people take days to respond to an email, NB Media always responded to me within minutes. That was amazing.

I can't find any area in which to improve. Bravo!

Our website offers VIP subscriptions as well as VIP and non-VIP class offerings. Due to this, our needs fall outside of normal Wix setup. NB Media has provided great suggestions and custom coding to meet our needs.

I became aware that the Platform I was using is capable of doing things I was using other platforms to perform. They moved everything into the Platform I was using which provided a huge savings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

No exaggeration, working with NB Media Solutions has literally changed my life! Unlike other companies I’ve worked with they do exactly what they claim. Changes, concerns, email campaigns, adding products, writing copy, and anything else, is taken off my busy schedule and usually completed within a day by their team of experts.

It seems there’s nothing that can’t do. Companies that actually treat you like they appreciate your business and provide outstanding customer services are few and far between these days. I can say without hesitation NB Media Solutions is one of those companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with NB Media Solutions, LLC?

I needed a website done. I wanted it to have a professional feel and have the backend so that it could have a shopping section.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working together for three years. I gave them photographs I wanted to use and a plan, and they put together an absolutely fantastic first iteration of the site, designing it and developing it from scratch using Wix. Then I gave them more changes and they made them all.

Whenever I need to change something, do something, or ask for advice they’re fantastic. They handle all renewals, such as domain and hosting renewals. They handle everything for me. Recently, they made the site mobile compatible, developing, and designing a mobile app.

Nicholas was my main point of contact and he delegated some work to another lady.

They found me. I went to their web portal, and I realized I couldn’t do it myself. I requested a Wix professional to do the work for me, and then they contacted me. They stood out the most — sounding down to earth and responding quickly.

We began working together back in June 2017 and still are working together.

They’ve given me the most amazing treatment. They created my online profile, and it needed to look professional. Their work has been fantastic for exposure and bringing in new business. I’ve definitely seen an increase in social media.
