The scope of work covered the replatforming of DreamApply's marketing website from WordPress to a modern, safer, and more scalable headless architecture. Naturaily helped us move to a stack centered around Payload CMS, Next.js, and Vercel, with the goal of giving marketing more freedom while reducing operational, security, and long-term maintenance concerns.

The project was much more than a simple CMS replacement. Naturaily designed and implemented a setup that gave us more ownership and flexibility, including a static frontend, Payload CMS in headless mode, code hosted in DreamApply's private GitHub, and client-managed infrastructure. This was important because we wanted a solution that would not create vendor lock-in and that could keep scaling beyond the initial launch.

A major part of the scope was improving the editing experience for our marketing team. Naturaily created a preview-friendly CMS setup and structured content approach so non-technical editors could manage pages and content with more confidence and less fear of breaking something. The team also provided early CMS access, supported content transfer, and organized feedback through Jira so our team could review, refine, and publish content without duplicating work.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project gave DreamApply a safer, more flexible, and more future-ready website foundation for lead generation and marketing operations. We moved away from a WordPress setup that created friction around security, experimentation, multilingual content, and long-term maintainability, and now have a headless setup better aligned with how our teams need to work. 

The new CMS experience improved editor confidence and content control. Our marketing team can work in a more structured, preview-friendly environment, which makes day-to-day publishing smoother and reduces dependency on developers for routine content work. 

The forms and lead-capture layer also improved. During implementation and post-launch refinement, we worked through attribution, UTM tracking, source tracking, spam protection, email validation, and submission visibility.

The scope of work for FGS Global’s website transformation was extensive, designed to create a modern, high-performance digital platform. This included a migration to Next.js for server-side rendering and static site generation, the adoption of TypeScript for improved code quality and scalability, the implementation of CSS Modules and Sass for maintainable styling, and the integration of Framer Motion for sophisticated animations.

A key component of the project was the implementation of Storyblok as a headless CMS, providing a user-friendly content management experience. The Naturaily team configured the Visual Editor and block-based components to empower content editors and streamline content creation, and implemented Storyblok’s built-in Internationalization to effectively manage multilingual content. 

We put in place a process for approving content, and the website now uses 128 different components built with Storyblok. To improve how users find information, Naturaily developed a custom search engine using Algolia. This gave the website advanced search features, allowing control over results, handling different kinds of content, and automatically directing users based on their searches. They also made it easier for users to narrow down their search with advanced filters.

To ensure the reliability and functionality of the application, Naturaily conducted rigorous testing and quality assurance. Unit testing with Jest was performed to validate individual components, and end-to-end testing with Playwright was used to validate the application’s overall functionality and user experience. 

They also integrated the website with external systems, including MyFGS, Greenhouse, and Softgarden, to streamline data management and synchronize job offers, using GraphQL and Apollo Client for data transfer. Finally, the team migrated approximately 1,500 content items from the previous website to the new Storyblok CMS, set up three levels of content access, and provided training to the FGS Global team on the new CMS.

The results were impressive. We saw a much more efficient content management workflow, and a search engine that actually delivers relevant results. We migrated around 1500 content items and managed 128 Storyblok components. We now have a scalable architecture that's ready for future growth. Implementing advanced content filters, especially on the /people page, has also noticeably improved user experience.

Our website was slow, clunky, and honestly, didn't really show off what FGS Global is all about. We needed a team that could bring us into the modern age, and that's exactly what Naturaily did.

Our cooperation with Naturaily revolved around creating a better website that would be beneficial for our visitors as well as our marketing and engineering teams. The visitors would receive a friendly and easily accessible web platform with refreshed designs, renowned UX, and ultra-quick performance. 

As for our teams, they’d be better equipped to create, edit, and further develop the website, without any technological debt or delays provoked by the unfitted stack. We wanted to be ready for our website to grow and be able to adjust quickly to changing SEO requirements and user habits. 

WordPress could not keep up with our demands and of increased performance, which started to impact our traffic. To do this, we chose to use Sanity CMS and Next.js framework. What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve improved the organic traffic thanks to a better page speed performance, and that was crucial. All related important metrics went up significantly: LCP, FCP, TTFB, FP, DCL, and OL reports. After a few tweaks on our end, it looks like organic traffic is finally swinging back in the right direction. 

The Naturaily development team did their job by making the new website more modular and composable, allowing us to develop it further with any third-party app we’d find useful and operational. We’re now in a position to adjust the website’s content and integrations to specific business needs quickly and efficiently. 

It works fine, especially for the end user, which is a marketing department. They can now edit nearly all pages on the site and create well-designed, new pages every week, without great hassle. The Sanity editor and the content modules are working really well for us.

We went way over on time and budget. Some of that was very much our fault, as we had a lot of conflicting priorities internally. The Naturaily team was pretty responsive though. With Naturaily’s big focus on quality, we’ve found that some things are over-engineered. It’s great for the end user (marketing) but was not great for our budget. We likely could have had some quick conversations about options (cheapest, somewhere in the middle, and most complex/expensive options) that would have kept us better on track budget-wise.

We sought a robust solution to optimize our online store which plays an important role in connecting with our customers all over the world. Before we started the project, our Magento store was plagued with issues such as decreased page speeds, intrusive pop-ups, bugs, and other technical and UX-related problems. It was problematic to manage the website and make the experience friendly for the visitors. We wanted to migrate the Magento store to Shopify in order to:

• Reduce the costs associated with maintenance and ongoing updates
• Enhance user experience, particularly in terms of performance and site speed
• Boost technical SEO and overall online visibility

The migration envisioned user data and order history to be fully transferred from Magento to Shopify. After conducting the UX/UI audit and analysis of the store, Naturaily proposed leveraging a pre-existing Shopify theme, which would then be customized to fit our unique needs. This approach was deemed efficient in terms of cost, time, and meeting the project objectives.
Throughout the development, multiple modifications that were centered around our needs were discussed and implemented, including design changes and creating integrations with external systems and third-party applications.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We consider the website migration from Magento to Shopify successful. Naturaily played a huge role in making the platform more efficient and easier to use. Firstly, the performance of the store went up significantly. Pages load quicker and it improves the user experience. We spotted a lower number of customer complaints regarding the store’s functioning.
Secondly, we now have much more flexibility with the Shopify platform compared to Magento. Our marketing team is now more independent from the engineering team and has more freedom to modify the website’s content or add new features. For instance, we’re now able to add pages by ourselves or add a particular promotion function in a more seamless way. We also have more sales and promotion options to propose to our customers directly through the platform.
Thirdly, our experience in managing the store has improved, especially in terms of time needed to complete changes. We can quicker roll out the desired updates. It’s effortless to link external services to Shopify on our own, compared to it taking months to link on Magento. Also, now, if the developers are still needed to make changes, it can be completed within days instead of weeks.

All tasks were delivered on time during the migration period as well as other project-related issues that came after. Naturaily’s team is very responsive and communicative, and it applies to both technical and non-technical staff. All of our messages were always answered in a timely fashion.

Naturaily has successfully finished the first phase of the project. Here, they were tasked with creating an original product configurator for one type of product (Snugzy dolls). In the already-started second phase, it acts as a baseline and core component of all the product configurators that they’re creating for every Nerdy Banana brand and product type. They decided to go with a custom Shopify app, meaning creating a unique solution created exclusively for us. 

With Vue and Nuxt JS as front-end frameworks and Ruby on Rails for the back end, they were able to integrate important third-party tools easily, through REST API & GraphQL. The application consists of three main elements: 

• Front-end layer for customers allowing for live customization of the product directly on the website 
• A post-purchase process with automated file preparation in the background 
• Admin panel for our team for updating & modifying templates of products 

PRODUCT CONFIGURATOR WITH LIVE PREVIEW FOR CUSTOMERS 

Users can: 

• Check and modify how their product will look with an actual live preview 
• Upload a photo and it will automatically fit into the project thanks to the integrated Cutout Pro background remover Naturaily recommended 
• Easily input text, numbers, or other messaging on certain areas, as well as add or remove filters and free-roam assets like glasses or hats 

POST-PURCHASE PROCESS AUTOMATION & PRINT FILE GENERATION 

Thanks to Naturaily’s development effort, we can better organize and manage the production phase. What it means in detail: A new, automated configurator allows for immediately preparing production files, printing, producing, and shipping personalized products Naturaily automated the process of generating print files and preparing them for shipment. 

Once the project is ready and the order is placed, they’re created in print quality and automatically saved as the order number into a specific Dropbox folder By integrating the custom application with Veeqo, Naturaily managed to show the face upload & print files on packing slips for proper processing. They’re also visible in transactional e-mails 

ADMIN PANEL 

With a unique admin panel Naturaily created, our team can: Better manage the orders. We can directly define anything that clients are able to do within the products’ templates when creating their personalized designs. We can change the available templates whenever we need to do so Easily determine possible elements allowed for the client’s modification, be it text input, curved text, image asset, vector asset, or photo upload mask for a particular area and shape. 

This applies also to their positions and areas allowed for the edits. Admins also can set upload styles and types of design that include single, multiple, mash, and tile patterns View print files, image uploads, or order details, as well as the preview of any designed product. Thanks to that, easy editing of customer orders is available. We’re also able to create manual orders and print-ready files from the panel which makes it a perfect way of producing new or sample orders Technological stack:

What we achieved: 

• Reduced delivery times, with next-day delivery possible (compared to a few days prior to the start of the project) 

• Streamlined files preparation process: a cut from 48 hours to 5 minutes after the order is placed, meaning the production team can print orders as they come rather than fall behind with ongoing accumulation of new orders 

• Increased conversion rate from 3.6% to 4.9% thanks to the fact that customers could see a preview of how their item will look while creating orders without the designer’s support 

• Grew up sales by 15% compared to last year when the configurator wasn’t implemented yet 

• Eliminated the human error factor due to no manual file preparation 

• Reduced highly the time needed for communicating with customers who were unsure about the final look of their product 

• Automated product configuration process, allowing for real-time customization and preview 

• Made the product customization process fun and easy, ensuring the product looks exactly the customer imagined it to and increasing satisfaction 

• Ensured the proper quality of the photos’ cutouts thus we cut the time needed to prepare a product’s design 

• Order backlog reduced to a zero
