**The Review** — Sep 23, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: N-iX Game & VR Studio achieved the project's goals and did a great job fixing tricky bugs, which the client initially thought impossible. They impressed the client by being the first to make a Blueprint forklift in Unreal Engine 5. Moreover, they communicated well despite the time zone difference.
""They succeeded in accomplishing our project's goals with awesome expertise and perseverance.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

https://www.rapyuta-robotics.com I'm the lead developer for the Robot importer project in Unreal Engine

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire N-iX Game & VR Studio, and what were your goals?

N-ix helps us accomplish our goals of building multiple types of robots in UE Skeletal Mesh components at runtime

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

N-ix has experience in various prior projects of simulation in UE https://www.n-ix.com/game-vr-studio/projects/category/unreal

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They help us fix existing blocking bugs in the project, building BP robots for experimentation.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There are 2 UE developers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They offer tremendous help, being extremely tenacious at fixing super-tricky bugs related to the integration of ROS into UE, also the constitution of robots based on skeletal mesh, both of which were thought to be very much infeasible. They are the first ones, as far as I know on the Internet, that could make a working Blueprint forklift in UE5, utilizing ChaosWheeledVehicleComponent.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They host a private common slack channel with us for important notifications/progress updates, together with weekly Google Meet remote meetings. We work in different time zones with us thus most of the communication is done asynchronously.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They succeeded in accomplishing our project's goals with awesome expertise and perseverance.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We generally don't really have big issues in communication, but their developers should truly deserve more of N-ix investment in their English skills (like with American/British colleagues coaching) to match their extremely competent technical expertise.

**The Review** — May 27, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Continuing to provide 3D art and modeling services, N-iX Game & VR Studio's work led to a successful Kickstarter campaign and high-level recognition at a respected industry conference. The client is pleased with the feedback they've received on the design, and the team's flexibility and aesthetics.
""It looks just like we dreamed it would in the beginning." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the creative director of a game development studio that makes strategy and RPG titles. My responsibilities include the art, direction, animation, and stories for the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with N-iX Game & VR Studio?

We’re creating our first 3D game and brought N-iX on to help develop our concept art. We don’t have any internal staff with 3D animation capabilities, so we went to Ni-OX to both develop our overall visual style for the game and translate our concept into a 3D world that our engineering team could put into action.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We went through a fairly in-depth estimation process and worked with their project managers and team leaders to process all our deliverables. N-iX was communicative and made sure both sides knew exactly what we were talking about and what we were getting. This reduced the ambiguities in the estimate and made our count very accurate.

The game was developed using Unity, and they used Photoshop to create the style, along with a number of other tools that are leveraged when appropriate.

ZBrush was a starting point for most of the organic modeling they do, and they had people doing 3D Studio Max, Substance Painter and Substance Alchemy for texturing, and Marmoset for rendering. They had a highly-skilled group of people that used the tools within the flow that worked best for them, rather than pushing someone to work on a specific tool that they’re not comfortable with.

We hired them early to do our Kickstarter back in 2020, but with COVID-19, the game won’t release until February 2023. We had a very successful Kickstarter and raised $250,000. We’ve also released the game to 1,000 backers in a private alpha process.

How did you come to work with N-iX Game & VR Studio?

Coming off of working on 2D games, this 3D game was a big jump for us. Our previous vendor was very skilled at 2D graphics, and we were happy with them, so we returned to the drawing board and did a full search for a new partner

Our goals were to find a partner who was communicative and could deliver on budget. We considered 16 different studios for around four-and-a-half months, going through interviews and then test projects with the best 3–4 projects. Finally, the top two options provided very serious estimates. We selected N-iX and chose a vertical slice, which allowed us to pick some concept art, 3D modeling, and animation — a thread to follow all the way through. This gave us a chance to see their quality work throughout all our required disciplines, and we committed to the full project with them after that.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $200,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2019–May 2021. They’ve also started a new project for the same game to fill in some of the gaps we found in our 3D artwork. That project is currently ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The visuals of the game are so impactful for their ability to be seen and recognized. Most recently, we submitted a video of our gameplay to a conference, and we were selected for a showcase at that conference — one of 12 games chosen for that distinction out of hundreds submitted. This got us a featured spot on the floor at the conference, which helped a lot of people come by, not to mention people who were watching from a distance.

People said that our visuals are clear and crisp, and that they had to stop by to see them. Our team is very happy with the visuals as well. We’ve received results that we’re very happy with.

They were very flexible with us, which we appreciate, and they were able to keep to the agreed-upon budget. We had a lot of stuff to learn, and they were very willing to spend time with us and teach us how to do things. They helped us take requests that were half-baked and turn them into something with definition that they could work with. They were very reliable in this regard.

The best indicator that a team is a good partner is if the customer comes back for another project, and we’ve done that.

How did N-iX Game & VR Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They joined our Disocrd server and have lived there for a couple of years, joining us daily to chat, drop, and upload files. We also use Trello for project tracking. We’re a small team,

We did some of their process and some of our process, and they were using Trello so we jumped on that. We now use Trello internally ourselves.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were very happy that we were able to give them our entire project. Their team was very excited about it as well. N-iX was able to help us define our vision and style for the world. At a concept level, they worked on the look and the lighting of the game. It’s a cyberpunk world, which means it’s futuristic.

The clothes have to be retro, funky, and different; the shoes have to have a certain look; and the crates and doors and cybernetic weapons all must have a very unique appearance. N-iX helped us craft all of the this from the concept stage. They were then able to follow this vision all the way to the end result where people are playing our game, and it looks just like we dreamed it would in the beginning.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are things I could mention here, but we are very happy with a lot of things, so I don’t want anything to be taken as a knock against them.

We’re very understanding of how contracts work for game studios, but N-iX was flexible with us, and we were flexible with them. We put certain parts of the project on hold as they had to pull certain team members away to work on other projects. They could have replaced those resources with other team members, but we wanted consistency throughout, so we were willing to wait until they became available again, as we had a longer timeline.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Look closely at their portfolio and what they’re especially good at. Also, spend extra time up front to discuss your requirements to figure out exactly how they can achieve your goals. This goes for any art studio you’re working with.

It’s really important to know what you’re going to get and find proof that the studio will be able to deliver.

**The Review** — May 9, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to N-iX Game & VR Studio's efforts, the client has seen steady progress toward deliverables. The team has been accurate with their timelines when it comes to milestones. They are organized to track progress through Jira and accommodate the internal team's questions and concerns.
""I've been impressed with the team's ability to infer additional features based on the high-level goals of the project.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We are an autonomous checkout company that builds software to infer which products shoppers take inside a store in order to charge them without interacting with a cashier. I mange a machine learning team responsible for building models to predict which items are being taken based on image/video data.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire N-iX Game & VR Studio, and what were your goals?

We wanted to build a simulation tool for the purposes of rendering videos of simulated shoppers moving around the store and shopping naturally, in order to have data to train and evaluate our models. We wanted to be able to simulate a wide variety of random situations over a wide variety of scenarios.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select N-iX Game & VR Studio and what were the deciding factors?

We engaged with a few game development studios and n-ix came back to us with a very organized plan, asked great clarifying questions until it was clear they understood the intent of the project, provided us with a breakdown and time estimate, and the services were reasonably priced.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They implemented a project using the Unity game engine. They implemented a system to generate random trajectories for artificial agents, have them move around the virtual store, and take/place items according to a randomly generated script.

In addition, they built out a system to randomize the store layout, product arrangement, and textures, as well as provide detailed segmentation and depth maps during the rendering process.

How many people from the N-iX Game & VR Studio team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with 2 developers and 1 project manager during the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team has been making steady progress towards deliverables and has generally been very accurate with their time estimates when it comes to intermediate milestones. I've been happy with the results so far and am confident the team can keep delivering features as the project continues.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The team is very organized, tracking progress towards goals in Jira. Developers come ready with specific questions which are usually addressed in a batch, which is great from a time management perspective. Usually we only need one or 2 followup conversations because they generally understand the task clearly up front.

We schedule periodic demos to visually display the current progress which usually invites additional questions and helps us better direct next features.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I've been impressed with the team's ability to infer additional features based on the high-level goals of the project. Sometimes they will demonstrate features I didn't explicitly ask for which are extremely useful for our goals of randomness and realism in the simulator.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

When I took over this project from a coworker of mine I wasn't clear on exactly when we started this project, since our company has multiple projects with n-ix currently.

It took me some time to get up to speed on the current project status, at first I didn't understand that we had only started a few weeks before, but once I understood the progress made a lot more sense. It would have been better to get up to speed on the timelines a little faster.

**Feedback Summary**: The client's customers are happy with the training modules N-iX Game & VR Studio has delivered. The VR enterprise platform company also continues to close more deals because of the quality of their VR training content. Moreover, the client appreciates the team's quick response to issues.
""Regardless of any difficult situation, N-iX Game & VR Studio delivers when needed.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the COO of a VR enterprise platform company that manages and distributes VR training content for large enterprise customers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire N-iX Game & VR Studio, and what were your goals?

We hired N-iX Game & VR Studio to expand our content development capabilities so that we could scale the content our enterprise customers need for VR training without hiring incremental staff directly. Our goal was to imbed the N-iX team into our development process and pipeline for seamless growth and risk management.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected N-iX after reviewing previous project work, meeting with them directly and interviewing their developers and artists to ensure the skillsets and quality were up to our standards.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started our engagement by imbedding their artists into our existing art pipeline and imbedding a developer into our internal team as a transitional solution. We added in additional roles - more devs, project management, design and QA - incrementally until the N-iX team could manage an entire project from kickoff to launch with very little support from our team. We worked up to over 8-10 projects concurrently in production with them at one time, across Unreal engine and Unity.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We currently have 14 dedicated resources (Unreal Developers, Unity Developers, Project Manager, Game Designer and QAs) and various artists as needed.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our customers are happy with the training modules N-iX has delivered and we continue to close additional work based on the quality of our VR training content.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We meet weekly with the N-iX team to stay on top of project deliverables and any blockers. We also utilize slack for daily communication and email as needed. N-iX is very responsive to any issues we raise and answer us, even when it's off hours for them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their commitment to delivery quality work and make sure that we, and our end customers, are satisfied with the VR training modules. Regardless of any difficult situation, N-iX Game & VR Studio delivers when needed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It took some time to build up the integration between the 2 companies and some coaching on our expectations around proactive communication as it would with any new team members internally or outsourced.

""They are high-level character artists.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Wargaming.net is a Belarusian video game company headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. Wargaming switched to developing free-to-play online action games in 2009, including the military-themed team-based game World of Tanks (WoT).

I am an Outsourcing Manager. I manage external teams for the production of art content.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire N-iX Game & VR Studio?

We produce 2D art content for the WoT project. This is UI art, 2D characters and more.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select N-iX Game & VR Studio and what were the deciding factors?

They chose the required level of drawing, communication and meeting deadlines.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

World of Tanks (WoT) is a massively multiplayer online game, featuring 20th century era combat vehicles. It is built upon a freemium business model where the game is free-to-play, but participants also have the option of paying a fee for use of "premium" features. The focus is on player vs. player gameplay with each player controlling an armored vehicle, from the time of Pre-World War 2, to the Cold War-era.

We collaborated with 6 artists. There could be 10 employees at the peak. At different stages of work in the project, from one to two supervisors were present.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

### Stellaris
Stellaris is a grand strategy video game published by Paradox Interactive in May 2016. The game enables users to explore a huge variety of galaxies and races, build an empire, and engage in diplomacy and space warfare with other civilizations.
N-iX Game and VR Studio have been partners with Paradox Interactive since June 2017. The client needed to create art for Stellaris and Europa Universalis grand strategy games.
On this project, our main task was to create assets for DLC releases. So the team has been working on concept art and 3D models of multiple spaceships.

Studying the specifics of Stellaris art style, game races, and galaxies, their distinctive features;
Working on concept art that involved developing shape language, silhouettes, approving art with the client, working out the details, adding projections, etc.;
Creating 3D models of different spaceships for Stellaris races, namely spaceships for one race in Humanoid species pack and one class of spaceships for different races in Apocalypse expansion;
Following detailed documentation and distinctive art creation pipeline involving such stages as Blockout, High poly model, Low poly model, Unwrapping UVs, and Texturing.

### Gods and Glory
Deca Games is a publisher and developer of video games that focuses on acquiring and operating retiring free-to-play games to “breathe new life” in them. The studio worked on award-winning games that have topped the charts and grossed millions of dollars across PC, browser, and mobile platforms.
In this case, they put an eye on Gods & Glory – a global MMO RPG inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic 3. The game already has a fanbase of over 3 million players and nearly a hundred thousand reviews on Google Play.
N-iX Game & VR Studio joined this large project to help automate the technical processes, fix legacy bugs, and add new functionality to the Gods & Glory game. N-iX Game & VR Studio team worked in close cooperation with Russian Studio Friday’s Games, who was the original creator of the game and possesses knowledge about the legacy code and technical processes. Our aim was to overtake this knowledge and automate the existing process in order to unlock the potential for the new functionality.
N-iX’s engineers provided development services, focused on maintaining and rewriting the game’s engine in С++ language with a server based on Java / Hibernate. The goal was to republish the product so that it fits the latest technology requirements and trends in the mobile gaming industry.
Gods and Glory was successfully released under the Deca Games logo, and it immediately resonated with the game community. Our cooperation, in turn, continues, since there is still so much to be done!

### Hearts of Iron IV
Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy game that covers the time period from 1932 to 1948, focusing on buildup to WW2 and the war itself. The game was developed by Paradox Development Studio and released in June 2016.
To expand the game world of HOI 4 furthermore with La Resistance DLC, Paradox Interactive required high-quality 2D art and 3D modeling. N-iX Game & VR got a great deal of experience in game art production and partnered with Paradox on their previous projects such as Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings 2 and Imperator: Rome, what made us a perfect candidate for performing this task.
Paradox Interactive provided our team with all the necessary guides, briefs, and references needed for the art production process for La Resistance DLC.
N-iX Game & VR Studio team delivered the following results:

Production of 20+ 3D models of war machines which included tanks, warplanes, and armoured cars for such in-game nations like France, Spain, England, USA, Soviet Union, Japan, Italy and others.
Creation of high-quality game art within a tight timeframe.
Production of 82 leader portraits which included 22 historical and 60 generic portraits, presented in distinctive game art style.

Paradox Interactive was pleased with the quality of work our team pulled together and decided to continue our partnership on other projects.

### Crusader Kings III
N-iX Game and VR Studio has been working with Paradox Interactive since 2017, and already managed to contribute to such great projects as Stellaris, Hearts of Iron IV, Europa Universalis IV, and Imperator: Rome.
This time we were happy to work on the sequel to one of the most popular strategy games ever made — Crusader Kings III. Our task was to create a diverse set of 3D models and icons that symbolize a character’s traits in the game.
After Crusader Kings III was released, the game received overwhelmingly positive reviews both from the game community and critics. It became a righteous successor of Crusader Kings II, immersing players into the most accurate simulation of a medieval ruler. After all, this is the only game where you can kidnap the Holy Roman Emperor, force him to convert to a new religion, and thus cause the empire to erupt in civil war and collapse!

### Imperator: Rome
N-iX Game & VR cooperated Paradox Interactive with on their previous GSGs, including Stellaris, Europa Universalis IV and Hearts of Iron 4, that’s why they decided to continue and extend our partnership. One of the required tasks for Imperator Rome was to make a series of artworks performed as an imitation of a mural made on marble surface, to make stories about rebellious generals and ambitious politicians more believable.
In addition, Paradox Interactive required 3D modelling of ships, unique for every culture, and various cities represented on the global map.
The workflow consisted of:

Art Production. Paradox Interactive required N-iX Game & VR Studio to perform many artworks to illustrate in-game events and military traditions of different cultures, represented in the game. The key feature was to copy the antique style with its low contrast and a limited array of the colours, to make them look like murals on marble.
3D Modeling. Before following distinctive pipeline, N-iX team had to put some effort into the historical research. Our team managed to recreate the antique architecture of the past in models of towns, cities and various wonders, which didn’t live to see this day. N-iX team created a good deal of historically accurate models of ships, each with different construction and style, to represent fleets of in-game nations.

### Cyber Knights: Flashpoint
Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is the second part of the Cyber Knights franchise the events of which take place 14 years later, in the dystopian cyberpunk future of 2231. The game combines tactical elements (like stealth, hacking, and tense turn-based combat), near-infinite variability of a playthrough, consequential story choices, and rich character creation and development options.
Trese Brothers have chosen N-iX Game & VR Studio among 14 other candidates. They admired our approach and believed that our company is reliable enough to be entrusted with the entire art production for such a big project. Our task was to come up with concepts and 2D arts, 3D models and animations, and eye-catching visuals for the Kickstarter campaign.
Trese Brothers and N-iX’s team were working closely together. The inclusiveness of our partnership allowed our team to be creatively involved in the process, thinking within the game’s setting and suggesting new ideas. Together we developed a distinctive art style, lots of illustrations, character models, usable items, environments, animations for weapons, and other cool stuff, including even cyber cats.
When Trese Brothers decided to set up a Kickstarter campaign, the N-iX team helped them create catchy visual materials. This decision opened new horizons for Cyber Knights. The campaign immediately drew the attention of backers and managed to enlarge the community around the game. As a result, the project grew even bigger and so did our involvement in it.
Trese Brothers and Game & VR Studio found a common language from the get-go. Thanks to constant communication and loyal relationships, we were able to reach project milestones on time and do incredible work together, creating the entire artwork for the game. The client loved the style that we developed, as well as our deliverables during the project progression.

### World of Tanks
World of Tanks (WoT) is a massively multiplayer online game that counts more than 72 million registered players across the globe, developed and published by Belarusian company Wargaming. In the game, players have 400 armored vehicles to choose from and thousands of thrilling online battles to participate. WoT is heavily supported by its creators and gets content updates on a regular basis.
Wargaming entrusted the creation of this and many other unique tank styles and emblems to N-iX Game & VR Studio. The project scope included not only “Special” tank styles but also historically correct camo patterns. Before the start of the production cycle, Wargaming provided our team with a theme and references nearly for every required tank style. To achieve a truly unique look of every tank style, our team used procedurally generated seamless textures created with Substance Designer.  This method allowed us to change the texture’s dimensions without losing its quality. To test the look of camouflage patterns on different tanks, the N-iX team used custom software provided by Wargaming.
While the Client shared his vision for every tank style, our team often had to research the most iconic symbols to create an eye-catching emblem or to make sure that performed camouflage was as close to original as it can be.
N-iX Game & VR team delivered many unique-looking tank styles based on various national events and historical camouflage patterns for the massively popular online game World of Tanks. Wargaming was completely satisfied with the delivered product and praised the dedication with which our artists pulled the job together.
Additionally, the Client highly appreciated the support provided by our team for the “War Child Armistice 2018” charity event. Selling the camo skins created by the N-iX team enabled Wargaming to raise money for 1290 children affected by the military conflict.

### PIXO VR Training Simulation
PIXO VR company aims at making this transition smoother and affordable by introducing PIXO Apex cloud-based platform for easy management of XR content on the one hand and by delivering quality Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Realities solutions on the other hand.
N-iX Game & VR Studio met PIXO VR at the VRX conference in San Francisco, and after exchanging our VR development experience, we later decided to work together. For this project, our task was to develop fully immersive and interactive 3D workspaces for Inside/Outside Gas Meter Inspection, Appliance Inspection, and Facility Locating & Marking VR training modules.
Core features of the project:

VR simulation can expose trainees to a myriad of randomized scenarios. This ensures that every attempt is unique, preventing you from memorizing the most difficult parts and teaching to the test mistakes.
The multi-user training feature opens up opportunities for team collaboration. The course can be run with or without an instructor present, and multiple trainees and instructors can interact while logged in from anywhere, be it in the same room or from thousands of miles away. Which is quite handy in our times.
The training simulation was built in partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), which makes it a hundred percent credible tool to effectively teach trainees and test experts of the industry.

### QBSIM
Quarterback (QB) is the leading position in American Football. However, training QB talent is problematic, as it requires significant investments, the whole team engagement, and has high injury risks. That is why Sports VTS engaged N-iX to create a virtual reality simulation that would enable quarterbacks to master their skills in the most effective and secure way.
N-iX gathered a strong team of VR development experts specializing in 3D graphics, animation, Unreal Engine, Oculus, Optitrack System, motion capture, and other technologies to deliver the solution for our client.
Our team was responsible for:

Developing AI to enhance the solution’s realism;
Building highly realistic models based on full-body 3D scans;
Designing the player’s skeleton and figure with the help of BlendShapes;
Developing the ball catching system and implementing accurate ball trajectory tracing;
Leveraging game analysis and players behavior tracking based on the data about real NFL players;
Integrating the platform with virtual reality hardware;
Providing the functionality for placing other 21 players on the field.

Our team continues to develop the product, focusing on a whole set of new features like replays, telemetry of the players, and real matches reproduction with a clear focus to bring the product to the next level of VR training.

### Digital Advertising Solution Development, VR/AR
Adverty partnered with N-iX Game & VR Studio to develop a solution that helps to bring ads in Virtual, Augmented & Mixed realities, without breaking the game experience.
Traditional advertising solutions generally deliver ads before the game begins, or in the game’s menu. Adverty sets up new standards in in-game advertising by placing native ads directly into the gameplay in a non-intrusive contextual and irritation-free manner. To achieve this result, N-iX Game & VR had to execute the following tasks:

Provide end-to-end development services from solution architecture to implementation, testing, and maintenance;
Build the core of the platform – Unity SDK which integrates the service with Unity-based solutions;
Implement scalable and reliable backend;
Ensure Unity plugins don’t affect clients’ performance;
Develop the Unreal Engine plugin.

The N-iX Game & VR Studio team has provided end-to-end development services from AWS-based solution architecture to implementation, testing, and maintenance. Our primary task was to create the Unity SDK – a core functionality of the product, that enables integration into Unity-based solutions, as nearly half of all games in the world are developed on the Unity game engine. To ensure scalability of the backend, N-iX Game & VR programmers used Scala and Cluster Programming. Our team successfully developed a plugin for advertising in Augmented Reality applications and currently working on the Unreal Engine plugin.
As the project is continuously growing, N-iX Game & VR provides constants support and quality assurance of the platform.

### Dark Horse
Dark Horse is the first of its kind, AI-powered mobile app that makes horse betting as easy as never before. With the help of N-iX Game & VR Studio, Woodbine Entertainment has launched a horse racing app that is claimed to be game-changing for the whole industry.
N-iX applied flexible methodologies of development when working on this project. We were searching for the best strategy, constantly analyzing the results of user testing to prove that our prototypes work as intended. Since we had to communicate a complex subject to wider audiences, one of our chief goals was to deliver a product with an optimized, seamless user experience that will immediately resonate with the target audience.
There are three most exciting aspects of the Dark Horse project that we are proud of as contributors. They are the possibility of live streaming, usage of Artificial Intelligence, and implementation of gamification elements, for which N-iX Game & VR Studio fully developed a backend.
Dark Horse utilizes an AI-powered algorithm called QUBE. It examines and evaluates statistics from thousands of races across North America and analyses horses’ parameters, weather conditions, and jockey’s track record. All these to present optimal candidates for betting to the user. AI usage helps to skip all the unnecessary complexities and show users only the data that they can easily digest. This leads to more educated bets and higher odds of winning.
Besides, the users can bet not only with real money, but they can also play for free using bonus points. Dark Horse app includes many game principles, such as leveling, different achievements, boosters, etc.
Dark Horse is claimed to be the most innovative thing that has happened to horse racing in the past 25 or 30 years. It is the long-awaited game-changer that the industry needed. The app successfully engages the younger demographic and exposes the sport to wider audiences.

### Asterix & Obelix XXL 3
Asterix and Obelix XXL3 is a third game in the series that tells a new exciting and amusing story about Asterix’s and Obelix’s adventures. And what a good story can be without hunting wild boars, drinking potions, and fighting Roman soldiers?
To create animations of the main characters of the game and their four-legged companions, Ocellus studio teamed up with N-iX Game & VR. Additionally, they asked N-iX team to rig and animate dozens of  Roman soldiers. The whole task had to be done in a limited amount of time.
Ocellus studio established the animation pipeline and N-iX team fitted into it frictionlessly. Using Autodesk Maya we’ve created the rig of Roman soldiers and associated each bone with a portion of characters’ visual representation. Then our team created main animation assets which included idles, walking, running, attacking, etc.
Our team worked hand-to-hand with the Ocellus team, presenting our work on various production stages, gathering feedback, and applying changes in the shortest time possible.
N-iX team was responsible for creating animation assets for the main heroes of the plot, Asterix and Obelix. Leaning on references, our team managed to show the character of each protagonist through their move-sets. Apart from animating people, the N-iX team created animations for different animals:  chickens, wild boars, and a trusty dog-companion – Dogmatix.
N-iX Game & VR team performed top-notch character animations of Asterix, Obelix, their foes, and companions in a timely manner.

### ComPet
ComPet is a full-cycle game development project for MindArk AB, a Swedish software company. The customer required a mobile game with a real cash economy, enchanting art, and PvP multiplayer support. N-iX generated the concept that combines a city-builder strategy with a turn-based combat game. We implemented the entire project including game design, prototyping, development, art production, and post-production.
Our client delegated entire game production to N-iX Game & VR Studio, including game design, programming, and art production. We worked closely with MindArk team to develop an MMO game in line with project requirements, namely:
A combination of city-builder and turn-based battles;

Real-time multiplayer support;
Pretty cartoon-style art;
Real cash economy;
Game localization for various markets.

In Competition Pets (or ComPets) players collect battle pets and clash with other players in the arena.
