For what projects/services did your company hire Motifmotion?

we were in need of a production company share out the work of our faculty fellows, which included help with story line/script, building out characters, and video production, Motifmotion did an amazing job at creating engaging and fun videos that translated complex ideas in ways that were easy to digest for a variety of audiences.

What were your goals for this project?

Fun, engaging videos that shared out the good work of our faculty fellows to a variety of audiences (students, other schools, donors, alums, etc)

How did you select Motifmotion?

We selected Motfimotion because of their style and approach to video production was exactly what we were looking for - clean, simple, and fun. We've used Motif for a few different projects and have been very happy with the end product every time.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

These videos helped to share out the work of our faculty fellows. The process included (but not limited to) help with story line/script, building out characters, and video production, Motifmotion did an amazing job at creating engaging and fun videos that translated complex ideas in ways that were easy to digest for a variety of audiences.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

project management was amazing -- the whole Motif team was very on the ball, and provided helpful feedback as we decided on characters, story progression, etc.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

we've received great feedback from folks who have viewed our videos

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was great -- Motif was excellent at communicating, very efficient with their time, and deliverables were always received promptly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The care that Greg and Phil put into the each project. You can tell they really want you to receive the best video/end product possible, and will work extremely hard to make sure that happens.

Are there any areas for improvement?

we've been really happy collaborating with Motif - looking forward to the next project!

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the manager of content and distribution at a B2B professional services firm. Our primary focus right now is on staffing. However, we also provide IT consulting, learning, and offshore services.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Motifmotion?

Initially, we were looking to create animated case studies.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They started off with the animated case studies. We were very pleased with them so we inquired about broader marketing services they could perform since we needed blog posts to be written. Now, they write eight blog posts and do one animation a month. The videos were published on our YouTube channel and blog. Eventually, they were published natively on LinkedIn and then distributed through our social media channels.

Our objectives were to bolster our social presence and provide some knowledge transfer for our audience. Then, they conducted research for us that we could give to our internal team to create infographics with.

What is the team composition?

I work with Gregor (Founder, Project Management, Animation Production), Phil (Founder, Project Management, Script Writing), and Barbara (Director of Partnerships).

How did you come to work with Motifmotion?

I did an extensive online search focusing on companies in the greater Philadelphia area. We wanted a local studio because it’s a lot easier to go to someone’s office if there’s a problem. I contacted Motifmotion as well as other studios and had introductory phone calls. After comparing them to other studios, I decided Motifmotion was the best fit for our needs.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in November 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve used the content they created as a backbone of a content distribution strategy which in turn has formed the basis of our social media strategy. We’ve provided our audience with good quality articles and information that they find relevant and interesting. Motifmotion allowed us the flexibility to become consistent on social media and to build out our social media presence.

We’ve seen good results. There has been a significant increase in traffic to our blog and followers on LinkedIn. Our impressions have gone up.

How did Motifmotion perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, project management is good. We selected monthly topics and subtopics to focus on on a month-to-month basis. They go off and come back with the blog posts and infographics. I look them over and give feedback. There’s a similar process to the videos as well. We have a good partnership.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been very impressed with their flexibility. Last year was a crazy year for many reasons. Motifmotion has been great with allowing us to pivot priorities. They have the ability to pivot quickly to keep up with what our business needs are at the time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like it if they took a more proactive role in coming back with some topic ideas when I express what the focus is for the month. It’s not that they haven’t done that in the past but it’s few and far between.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have an understanding that your engagement needs to be a partnership. You can’t walk into this and say you want a video and then do nothing. There needs to be time, effort, and commitment to providing Motifmotion with the information they need to make the best product they can. Communicate your objectives, goals, and vision.
