MOTIF has been hired by a fashion brand to provide marketing and creative services. The team has developed the brand's direction and communication system, improved the Shopify experience, and created a paid acquisition strategy.
Thanks to MOTIF's efforts, the client has become a functioning e-commerce business with real customers, repeatable acquisition channels, and a clearer commercial direction. The team has a hands-on approach and is highly responsive to the client's needs. They take a lot of ownership.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and position.I am the President of OFFCULTURE®
Describe what your company does in a single sentence.OFFCULTURE® is an independent fashion brand focused on contemporary darkwear, streetwear, and statement-driven everyday pieces. We design and curate clothing for people who want something more distinctive than traditional mass-market fashion, with a strong focus on silhouette, texture, layering, and character. Our range includes jackets, leather pieces, pants, denim, knitwear, tees, footwear, and accessories, with many of our collections influenced by underground fashion, music, nightlife, and modern youth culture. Beyond simply selling clothing, we are building OFFCULTURE around a wider creative culture. Every collection, campaign, and product is developed to feel like part of the same world, giving our customers pieces they can mix into their own identity rather than telling them exactly how they should dress.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.MOTIF® has been working with us to build OFFCULTURE® as part of the REV(IX) portfolio model, and the scope has gone far beyond what we would normally consider an agency engagement. Their role has been to help build the business from the ground up, covering brand strategy, positioning, creative direction, ecommerce, product presentation, merchandising, paid media, content, retention, conversion, customer acquisition and the wider commercial structure behind the brand. What makes the engagement different is that MOTIF is not operating as an external vendor completing isolated deliverables. They are involved in how OFFCULTURE is being shaped as a company, how the brand should grow, how different channels work together, where money should be spent, how the customer experience should improve and how the business can become more efficient and profitable over time. Key deliverables have included the development of OFFCULTURE’s brand direction and communication system, improvements to the Shopify experience and merchandising structure, paid acquisition strategy across Google, Meta and Pinterest, organic content systems, email and retention strategy, campaign development, conversion improvements, product positioning and ongoing performance analysis. MOTIF has also been closely involved in the commercial side of the business, including margin thinking, acquisition efficiency, channel performance, offer structure, customer behavior and how OFFCULTURE should scale without losing the identity of the brand. OFFCULTURE is one of the businesses being built within the REV(IX) portfolio approach, and MOTIF is effectively the operating and brand-building engine behind it. For us, the key deliverable is not simply a website, campaign or brand identity. It is the continued development of OFFCULTURE into a stronger, more commercially sound and more recognizable fashion business.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? One of the clearest outcomes has been that OFFCULTURE has moved from being an early-stage brand into a functioning ecommerce business with real customers, repeatable acquisition channels and a much clearer commercial direction. Since MOTIF became involved, we have built and tested multiple revenue channels across Google, Pinterest, Meta, email and organic content rather than depending on a single source of traffic. We have already seen purchases coming directly from Google campaigns, organic Pinterest activity and returning visitors, including individual orders in the $300 to $550+ range. Pinterest alone grew to more than 200,000 monthly views organically during the development period and began generating attributable purchases without relying entirely on paid media. Google has also started producing confirmed orders while the team continues improving attribution and campaign efficiency. Another measurable improvement has been average order value. OFFCULTURE sells products across a relatively high price range, and we have been able to generate multi-item orders above $500, which gives us much more room to build a sustainable acquisition model than a low-ticket fashion business would have. Beyond revenue, MOTIF has helped us put the infrastructure behind the numbers in place. We now have a much clearer product taxonomy, merchandising system, acquisition structure, customer retention approach, analytics setup, content engine and channel-level measurement than we had when the project started. The project is still in its growth phase, so we do not look at the work as a finished success story yet. What gives us confidence is that the underlying system is beginning to work: people are discovering the brand, buying at meaningful order values, returning through different channels and giving us enough real customer data to make better commercial decisions. For us, that progress is important because OFFCULTURE is also helping prove the wider REV(IX) model. We are not just measuring whether MOTIF can produce good creative work. We are measuring whether they can help build a brand into a commercially viable business, and so far we are seeing that foundation take shape.
Some of the measurable outcomes from the engagement include:
- Grew OFFCULTURE into a functioning multi-channel ecommerce brand with customer acquisition coming from Google, Pinterest, Meta, email and organic content.
- Reached more than 200,000 monthly organic views on Pinterest and began generating purchases directly from organic discovery.
- Generated high-value ecommerce orders in the $300 to $550+ range, including multi-item purchases across different product categories.
- Built a more structured paid acquisition system across Google Shopping, Performance Max, Meta and Pinterest.
- Improved merchandising, product categorization and the overall Shopify shopping experience.
- Established stronger visibility into channel performance, customer behavior, conversion activity and product-level demand.
- Built retention, email and content systems designed to reduce long-term dependence on paid acquisition.
- Created a clearer commercial framework around margins, customer acquisition costs, media efficiency and product economics.
- Most importantly, OFFCULTURE has become a working proof of the REV(IX) portfolio model, with MOTIF acting not just as a creative partner, but as an operating partner helping build the business itself.

Brand Channels ( Website, Social Media & Experience)
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?MOTIF® has managed the project with a very hands-on approach, particularly because OFFCULTURE® is being built through REV(IX), their own portfolio and company-building model. That structure makes the relationship very different from a traditional agency engagement. MOTIF is not simply receiving briefs and delivering isolated pieces of work. They are directly involved in building OFFCULTURE as a business, from brand and creative decisions through ecommerce, merchandising, customer acquisition, retention, paid media and commercial planning. Their project management has reflected that level of involvement. Communication is frequent and direct, priorities are reviewed constantly, and the team is able to move quickly when something needs attention. Most deliverables have been completed within the agreed timelines, and when priorities have shifted based on performance, customer behavior or business needs, MOTIF has been able to adjust without slowing the wider project down. They have also been highly responsive to our needs. If we identify an issue with the website, advertising, product presentation, customer journey or another part of the business, the conversation usually moves quickly from identifying the problem to deciding what should be done and putting it into action. What has stood out most is the level of ownership they take. REV(IX) is part of how MOTIF is extending its role from building brands for clients to building companies within its own portfolio structure, and OFFCULTURE is one of the brands being developed through that model. Because of that, they approach decisions with the mindset of an operator and builder, rather than an outside service provider. Overall, working with MOTIF feels much closer to having an embedded brand, creative, commerce and growth team working alongside us than managing a conventional agency relationship.
What was your primary form of communication with MOTIF®?- In-Person Meeting
- Virtual Meeting
- Email or Messaging App
What impressed us most is that MOTIF® has built a model that sits somewhere between an investment company, a brand builder and an operating partner, but without becoming any one of those in the traditional sense. REV(IX) is what makes that model especially interesting. Instead of simply investing in brands or selling services to them, MOTIF is creating a structure where it can help build companies from the inside. Capital, brand strategy, creative, ecommerce, acquisition, operations and commercial decision-making are brought under one system rather than being split between investors, agencies, consultants and internal teams. That changes the relationship completely. OFFCULTURE is not treated like an account that needs campaigns or deliverables every month. MOTIF looks at the whole business and asks what has to be built, fixed or tested for the company itself to become stronger. The combination of creative thinking and commercial accountability is probably the most distinctive part for us. A lot of companies are very good at branding, and others are very good at performance or finance, but those disciplines are usually disconnected. Through REV(IX), MOTIF is trying to connect all of them around the outcome of building a real business. We also think the portfolio approach has a lot of potential because every company they build gives the system more operating knowledge. What works in acquisition, merchandising, retention, technology, product positioning or brand building can become part of how the next company is built, while still allowing each brand to have its own identity. That is what makes MOTIF feel different to us. They are not trying to become a bigger agency. They are building an infrastructure for creating, operating and growing companies, and REV(IX) is the clearest expression of that.
