Momentum Energy is SaaS that collects and analyzes property energy data to provide insights that enable property owners to make decisions that will cut down their energy costs. Role: Business area manager of Momentums Energy.

For what projects/services did your company hire Most Studios?

Our goal was to widen our potential target audience by making our product more user-friendly, i.e. improving its UX and UI.

How did you select this vendor?

My colleague had recently completed a branding project with Most Studios and loved the outcome. She recommended them since they also did product design. My team and I had a number of meetings with Most’s Director of Product.

He seemed to understand our needs and had extensive experience in both UX/UI strategy and design. That, in combination with the pro of having a product agency that understood branding and knew the ins and out of our brand, made us choose Most.

The process had four steps:

• DISCOVER: Most gathered insights and data from us. They also did a product audit, user interviews, and market research. They then processed all data to see patterns/identify possible ways to move forward. Once the analysis was completed, we had a mutual view of the challenges to be solved in the next step.
  • Outcome: Knowledge about the product in relation to the market and the users, Personas, Use cases, & Customer Journey
• DEFINE: Most defined the main challenges to be solved (e.g. a problem definition). They created a vision for how to solve those problems.
  • Outcome: Strategic direction, Product vision, Product requirement document, and Design Brief
• DEVELOP: This part revolved around visualizing and prototyping various ways to reach the vision. From lo-fi wireframes to interactive high-fidelity prototypes. The prototype was tested with real users to validate the suggested path before further design and development started.
  • Outcome: Updated user flows, Wireframes, Prototypes, Validation of concept and/or prototype
• DELIVER: A finalized branded prototype (UI design gets put onto the wireframes), making the designs ready for handoff.
  • Outcome: Finished high-fidelity design and Finished high-fidelity prototype

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The delivery felt perfectly tailored to our needs. Even though our product is complex, it now feels smooth and logical. The updated user flows and design makes it super easy for users to navigate to their desired destination.

The design itself is also beautiful, and even though it’s a drastic change in terms of visuals, we’ve only received positive feedback and 0 complaints from our customers. We have also gotten great feedback from our dev team. The more they have worked with the design system, the more they’ve come to appreciate its depth and Most’s attention to detail.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Went great. They were skilled, kind, and able to quickly understand our product and users' needs and produce a comprehensive and easy-to-implement design system based on that. I’d also like to give Eric, the senior product designer, some extra credit. He did an outstanding job.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most’s ability to quickly understand our complex product and produce beautiful UX & UI design with exceptional attention to detail and clear implementation guidelines has left us exceptionally pleased with our partnership. We’re looking forward to future collaborations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Since we hadn’t been in a process with Most before, we were not sure what to expect from each phase. The very beginning of the project felt a bit “slow”. We brought this up with the Most team, who then explained that the research and insights phases always feel a bit tedious, but that they are key for a great delivery.

After having heard that, we knew what to expect and trusted the process more, and as you know - we were very pleased with the project. But our feedback is that it would have been nice to have known what to expect from the get-go.

For what projects/services did your company hire Most Studios?

Emergency drone response is something that does not yet exist on the market. We needed a partner who could help us with our positioning, brand personality, and communication and implement that in a website. The key goals of the website were to - Instill a feeling of legitimacy & trust - Getting visitors to understand our value proposition with ease

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Most Studios had previously done our brand strategy and visual identity. We really liked the result of those projects. Since we knew that they also did web design, we were excited to continue with them as a vendor.

The scope was to design an intuitive, beautiful website. The goals were:

• To instill a feeling of legitimacy & trust
• Get visitors to understand our value proposition with ease Most Studios helped us achieve that through UX & UI web design, copy, and illustrations. Based upon our business goals, a web strategy session with the project lead, and our already existing material
• Most started with providing an intuitive design structure, a compelling storyline, and a smooth visitor experience (wireframes)

Then they did the actual UI design, including custom illustrations, and helped us with copywriting.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had clear goals for the project. Most Studios met all of them. We are super happy with the results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Always had his eyes on the target, was easy to communicate with, focused on the goals of the website rather than opinions, and gave pushback when he needed to but was still humble and always open to our feedback. We did the project through video meeting check-ins, email, and slack. The project was delivered before the deadline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We’ve done two projects with Most Studios with different teams. Both teams were highly competent, professional, result-focused, and creative but still kind and down-to-earth.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nope. Super happy with the results.

Launch website on time

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Overall OK and the most important deadline (website launch) was met. At times, it was hard to follow and the project management could have been better by streamlining where communications were held (now in different slack channels), how it was done (sometimes it was too much information) etc. However, we didn't have sufficient project management from our end either. The project manager from Most has very good attitude, positive and professional.

I’m the CIO of Esgaia. We offer a specialized SaaS to help our customers save time and improve quality by centralizing engagement management in a cloud-based environment.

We’re a startup. We needed an update to our web design (landing page) to improve our user flow and up our conversion rate.

We got to know about Most through our accelerator program. They had worked with lots of startups and seemed competent.

Because of a limited time frame, the scope was straightforward and required trust on our end. We explained our goals and metrics to one of Most’s senior UI designers, who then got full freedom to redesign our website based on our website/business goals.

A senior Web Designer and a Project Manager.

Our conversion rate improved and the web design looked great. Super satisfied!

Smooth and easy. The project was led by the UI designer. Comms were virtual and made through video meetings and email.

They were flexible, humble, and able to deliver high value in a super short timeframe.
