Seeing the progress of each project in Trello really helps with tracking progress and staying on top of everything, which sometimes can get lost in emails. The MoonB representative assigned to our account is very responsive and we always have catchup meetings to check on the progress of the projects and align on any requests.

Yes, the team is very efficient and delivers items on time. they are also very patient with us as our internal review processes are sometimes longer due to the regulated nature of pharmaceutical products.

We had a rough trailer that we put together for our animated show and we needed Moonbow to create a higher quality version of it. We used the rough as a storyboard and the Moonbow team expanded on it, helped refine several of the background plates and character designs, created new character designs and background plates, and then delivered the final trailer animation. Deliverables included:

• turnarounds for characters
• background plates
• After Effects/Harmony files.

The measureable outcomes for the project included:

• recurring check-ins 
• progress updates along with progressive roughs with revisions after each round.

There was continual progress and each round of revisions was a success.

Moonbow's project management is great. They're incredibly organized and communicative so there were never any uncertainties on the project from our end. We didn't have a set timeline for deliverables but they delivered all items when they said they would, in some cases with time to spare

They responded to my needs and, since the quality of the work and accuracy to our sources was most important, they were very great at responding to revisions without us feeling like we were compromising on our expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Moonbow is just impressive in general. The quality of their work is great, they're kind and accommodating, and they just made the entire process so much easier than we expected. We've worked with other animation and production studios before and we feel fortunate to have found a such a great studio to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Moonb could have done differently?

My only recommendation for improvement is that they need to put in a little more effort to ensure that things are on model. We had to go through a few extra revisions to make sure that things were perfect but it felt like certain things were clearly not right. In the end, we got where we needed to and there wasn't any pushback or issues on their end so I would consider this a very minor improvement that is needed.

We reached out to Moonbow with a pitch to develop an animated sing-along video aimed at kids aged 7-12. This was a complex project for us. We had multiple animated characters singing, dancing and interacting with each other. We used an analogy to help tell our story which posed it's own set of challenges.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had worked with Moonbow on a project prior to this. This new project needed to be a home run and there wasn't even a debate within our company as to who we wanted to develop it. The team at Moonbow is highly creative, talented, and eager to deliver above and beyond what our vision was.

Our team met with Moonbow to pitch the idea to them. We developed a song internally and used that to help discover the cadence and tone for the video. Moonbow went right to work developing character styles and some set pieces. Once the aesthetic was approved, Moonbow developed some pencil storyboards and from those they presented an animatic which gave us our first glimpse of the project. Even in that rough animatic stage, the care and love for their work was evident. Internally, we knew this was going to be a special project. Once the animatic was approved went into rough animations. The team at Moonbow quickly put together beautiful environments and the characters were brought to life. The rough animations were incredible. The 12 steps of animation were on display and the level of finesse at this stage was exciting. We went through a couple rounds of tweaks to adjust for some script changes, but the animation team was quick to make updates and the video was buttoned up nicely.

I worked with Lorenzo and Tommy as my main point of contacts. The team at Moonbow would share the work at various milestones and our team would do an internal review. We typically would do a round or two of reviews at each milestone.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This is our team's first sing-along video. we weren't even sure if we could pull it off. Not only was Moonbow instrumental is helping us reach our goal, they helped us exceed our own expectations and have raised the bar on what we can expect from our partners. The fluidity of movement, the beautifully rendered art, the masterful use of comedic timing, it is all on display and operates at a high level.

The project manager at Moonbow is on top of things. Schedules were met, assets were shared or requested early and our internal team was always informed of the project status. Great communication from start to finish and I never had to wonder about the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Moonbow is a top-tier studio. The team is so laid back and easy to work. All of the work they've done for us has exceeded expectations. They bring their A-game everyday and I feel incredibly lucky to have them working on our projects. There are no 1-hit wonders here. They are the real deal.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Moonbow operates at such a high level, I find myself feeling like I'm the one who needs to improve. There isn't an area of weakness from what I've noticed. They get it done and get it done very well.

The work was based on a previous animations style, which they nailed. We supplied a media plan with all the spec and they turned the schedule around not only super fast but with such great quality of work

We were trying to tell a story regarding the need for system changes across our community. Using that story to show the need and value for United Way to be the driving force behind that systems change. Moonbow worked with our team to capture that vision and produce an animated video that brought this story concept to life.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Moonbow was most attractive to us because of the style of the videos they produce. We were looking for quality, the ability to deliver with a short deadline, and a company to work from a concept without a preplanned script in mind. Moonbow hit the mark in those areas.

After our initial meet and greet, a small staff from United Way met with the team and Moonbow to learn about our brand, what we do, and our purpose and hopes for the video. There were 4 stages of check-in set from that meeting. Each meeting provided United Way with the opportunity to provide feedback and make changes needed along the way. Moonbow did an amazing job up front listening to what we needed. The first draft script was nearly perfect and we only had minor changes. After that script was set the rest of the process moved very quickly and the check-ins were there to approve the artwork, voiceover, music, and finally the final product.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Once the project was kicked off we worked primarily with the animation lead. Although, every piece of communication was with the team at Moonbow. When we gave feedback on the script Moonbow was respective to our requested changes. They listened to understand exactly where we were trying to go with the story. The check-ins throughout the process helped us provide that timely feedback and keep the project moving.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are still in process of pushing this video completely out to the public. The first reaction from some of our groups is amazement at the detail and quality of this video. Many have commented on the story flow and how the animation perfectly matches the story and they were left with an uplifted and motivating experience.

This was the best experience we have had with a large project like this. Moonbow set expectations for us in the first conversation and followed through every step of the way. They were prompt and willing to jump into a meeting at a moment's notice if needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The amount of homework they did to learn about our local United Way. When we jumped into our video planning session they had already reviewed our website, annual report, and various other materials. Moonbow was prepared on day 1 to kick off the video project with us and it really took the weight off of my team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The project went very smoothly. Moonbow worked within our timeline to make this video happen. Ideally, we should have given them more time to work through some of the big parts of the video planning. But that was our time issue. They responded well to the pressure!

Create a creative and clever 2D animation series to illustrate and educate on the health benefits of our raw materials.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We launched a contest where we paid 5 companies to create a 20 second animation illustrating our products key benefits. Moonbow were clearly a step ahead both in animation quality and storytelling. We were especially impressed by their clever use of transitions and the extra polish they put on texture and depth in the animation.

We create a 90 second animation per key message. First we write a script/voiceover, which Moonbow use to create a storyboard. The storyboard process goes back and forth with revisions and validation by the team, until we lock it. At this point Moonbow use the voiceover to time the animation, and spend some time on the animation. Once the animation has been approved it goes to sound design, before final approval and delivery of files.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I've worked with Tommy, Patricia and Lorenzo. The feedback process has been incredibly smooth and well managed. They always send out regular samples of the work, before we meet at scheduled times to review together. They listen intently to our feedback and revise their work quickly and precisely.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since the completion of the first video we've been approached by several customers who wish to have exclusive right to the animations for use in their sales channels. The project has struck a great balance between educational and scientific value, and visual style and storytelling, and will provide incredible value to our customers, and in turn us.

We were assigned a producer at the beginning who has been very responsive and hands on. The project has mainly been managed between the animator and me, but the producer is always there to take notes and follow up on the progress between check-ins. The communication has mainly been via email and our preferred meeting software.

Their dedication to getting the animation and storytelling style right as well as their creative flair impressed us. Our project required a very particular execution, and they've delivered above and beyond.
