What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our lead generation relies heavily on referrals, our network, and Clutch. In the past, we experimented briefly with Google Ads campaigns, but never in Germany. We realized we could either figure it out ourselves—risking the potential to burn through a lot of money—or go straight to the experts.
We didn’t have a specific number of leads in mind as a KPI. In our industry, a single account can generate anywhere from $10,000 to $1,000,000 in revenue. Instead, we focused on covering relevant keywords, designing a sales funnel tailored to the unique needs of our potential customers, and ensuring that spending remained under control.
Long story short, Monsoon set up campaigns that began driving converting traffic within days of launching the project. The volume and quality of conversions we saw in the first month alone exceeded our expectations. What we anticipated as a great outcome after a full quarter, Monsoon achieved in just one month—while staying under budget and delivering beyond our initial projections.

Project management was top-notch. We established regular meetings to catch up and brainstorm, and we also set up a shared Slack channel for daily communication. The way they handled reporting has since become a benchmark for us as a marketing agency and in managing our own projects.

We do our best to stand out from the crowd in terms of how we build relationships with our partners, approach projects, and tackle challenges. Throughout my career in marketing, I’ve encountered only a handful of agencies that share the same values and ethics. That’s why the idea of collaborating with another marketing agency—as a marketing agency CEO myself—initially felt like a wild idea. However, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go forward with it.

The agency's role was to manage and maintain all marketing channels. The deliverables encompass ongoing campaign optimization, content creation and comprehensive reporting.

Improved effciency, increased volume and reduced cost. The comprehensive reporting enabled marking actions to tailor spend to such things as for instance seasonality, further increasing efficiency and reducing churn.

After creating the overall marketing plan we had biweekly follow up meetings on the implementation and performance on the plan. Everything was data driven and campaigns were changed as new insights could be gleaned from the data. As I recall delivery was always timely with updates given both when a change was implemented and when there was new data to look at and descisions to be made.
We were very happy with how MONSOON was able to increase the efficiency of our campaigns within the existing budget, especially consider other parties we had been in contact with always suggested increasing the budget to reach our goals.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were most impressed with the breadth and depth of knowledge within the PPC/SEM area, even if we were happy with the other areas as well. When it comes to PPC/SEM we have an experienced team in-house and have often been left feeling like we know more than the people we are discussing starting a cooperation with.
With Monsoon this was not the case, which was great since we felt safe handing over most the marketing to focus on other areas of the business. The way the reporting was handled and the explanations of why changes were made always made us feel like we were still in control but with at a fraction of the effort.
Are there any areas for improvement or something MONSOON could have done differently?
Initially, we were dissatisfied with the PM assigned to the project, but Monsoon addressed this by assigning a new PM with whom we were pleased. Monsoon could further improve their service by enhancing collaboration between their graphic design team and our project team to ensure initial iterations align more closely with expectations. Additionally, providing their content team with a glossary of industry-specific terms could reduce the need for corrections by our internal team.

MONSOON was hired to execute a performance marketing strategy across Meta and Google, with additional SEO content consultation. The project was separated into two phases, the first being focussed on lead generation via Meta advertising to build a strong email database prior to the company's product being launched. This ran in parallel to brand marketing channels with a focus on brand awareness.
Following the launch, the strategy changed to focus on three pillars: conversion, brand awareness and lead generation. The scope of the campaigns grew to include Google in addition to Meta. This is an ongoing project, but we intend to expand the channel mix further to introduce YouTube and Pinterest marketing as well. The key deliverables in this soft launch phase for the company were again revenue and units sold.

As this project is ongoing, we do not have finalised outcomes. However, we have been extremely staisfied with the strategic decision-making, transparent communication style and early results of the project.

I’m a cybersecurity consultant at BxC GmbH & Co. KG. We provide consultancy services for cybersecurity, mostly in the German-speaking markets.

What challenge were you trying to address with MONSOON?
We wanted to achieve two things; first, we were looking to be recognized on social media to get new clients. Secondly, we were trying to attract potential people to our team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
MONSOON creates content for us every month; they plan what they’ll post on our social media channels, mostly on LinkedIn and Instagram. They create content based on our input and the research they carry on individually. They also search for trends in the market of cybersecurity, searching for news, events, recurrences, and so on. For a more strategic review, they also target specific markets and profiles on social media. For example, they look for potential clients; we mainly target companies doing production.
For lead generation, MONSOON initially asked us for suggestions. They refined the list and asked us which profiles we wanted to target. Later on, they built on top of that. They also translated our posts to German internally; however, it was counterproductive, so they stopped doing it.
They’ve also designed postcards for Christmas and taken care of some design aspects for us. Additionally, MONSOON is responsible for posting content and responding to comments.
What is the team composition?
We work with five teammates in total. However, three have been the most engaged, including the founder and the head of marketing/co-founder.
How did you come to work with MONSOON?
A colleague found them. They searched for a marketing team in the German market.
How much have you invested in them?
Our contract is for €3,500 (approximately $3,700 USD) per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in June 2022, and it’s an ongoing engagement. We have no end date for the collaboration.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have some KPIs. We’re looking to see if the engagement is raising the number of followers on our social media platforms and the number of likes. For qualitative metrics, we’ve also received messages from people on LinkedIn who have asked for information about working with us and told us the company looks cool.
How did MONSOON perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is nearly perfect; there’s still room for improvement. We use Asana for communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understand how we work, what we do, and what’s our business about. Initially, they weren’t much into cybersecurity, but they tried to understand our needs and potential.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything right now. Some typos in a few posts could’ve been avoided, but I don’t think that’s significant.
