We worked with their sister organization Mighty Fine Design. That wasn't a shoo-in as we looked at other organizations and reviewed portfolios. MFP videos were impressive and could distill complex ideas into easy-to-understand videos.

Over the course of two years, Mighty Fine created several "explainer" and promotional videos for the History Center, specifically focused on our new gallery expansion. First, we needed to create something visual to explain the new gallery and what would be in it. This was designed to tease the project and explain it to the public and community stakeholders.
This was a particular challenge since the new space did not yet exist. The Mighty Fine team solved this by creating clever animation and motion graphics to illustrate what our new museum gallery would look like in the future. After the gallery was open we continued to work with them to promote the opening of the new gallery and the museum in general.

Frank is a fixture in the local community with a solid track record. His company's knowledge of animation and motion graphics made him the best choice.

For each production, I met with Frank's team, provided a storyline, toured the museum and came up with a game plan. The explainer video, as I mentioned, was a particular challenge. Frank was working with some artist renderings of the gallery space and photos of artifacts that were to be put on display. Using these limited resources, the Might Fine team was able to create custom animations and motion graphics that helped the viewer understand what the soon-to-be-built gallery space would look like, building excitement and curiosity for our effort.

I worked directly with Frank and his lead designer.

Our internal graphic designer did a search, consulted colleagues in the industry and followed up with ES Creative Studio based on a recommendation. He and I spoke with ES Creative Studio, an independent animator and another creative/design company. After a round of initial conversations, a review of their previous work, we selected ES Creative Studio because their aesthetic closely aligned with ours and the price was within our budget.

Once we selected ES Creative Studio, we met with Frank to formally discuss what we wanted to accomplish, what we were looking to achieve, and the level of detail and aesthetics we were interested in. He made a number of recommendations, showed us a static story board, and we provided feedback. Once he had our feedback, Frank and his team started the animation process.
Once complete, they share the initial animation with us; we provided feedback and they incorporated it. Along the way, we had a last minute branding change, which Frank and his team willingly incorporated, as well as changes to the v/o script and v/o talent.
What was the team composition?
Our project team consisted of a project manager, an animator and a voice-over actor.

We are just getting ready to release the video to all employees, but the small group we shared it with so far was blown away.
