They were referred to me by our mutual friend. I am impressed by their knowledge, outstanding portfolio, and extensive experience working on eCommerce sites.

I consulted them about the feasibility of our requirements. They analyzed our long list of features and suggested we use existing advanced plugins instead of custom-building the desired features. This approach not only meets our goals but also reduces implementation and future maintenance costs.

Two people worked on our project. One is a senior IT consultant; the other one is a developer.

We are still in the stage of testing the optimized website. It will take some time before it is launched. I will update the results here :)

They are very responsive. We use WeChat, email and Teamwork to collaborate and manage the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They provide us with professional IT advice that helps us overcome technical difficulties. More importantly, they simplify complicated technical things, and I love it!

I haven't seen any so far.

I’m the founder of an early-stage startup called Solar Feeds.

What challenge were you trying to address with MiApple Inc.?

We mostly needed coding help since we’re a marketplace startup. We needed an experienced WordPress developer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Because we follow a lean development approach, we didn’t want to use React or other complicated technologies, so we chose WordPress. MiApple Inc. then worked from the database and did some customizations as well to build a website.

They created it for buyers who can leave reviews. For the supplier side, they built a portal that users can use to put in their company and product information. I told the team what I wanted and they did the work. 

What is the team composition?

We mostly work with three teammates, including a programmer, a designer, and a project lead.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $5,000–$10,000 so far. It’s a time and materials engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them early this year, but we asked lots of questions before we signed the contract. Our engagement is ongoing. It’s a time and materials engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our traffic has been growing. The whole website structure and strategy is great, and we’ve grown from 20,000 to 35,000 organic leads. 

How did MiApple Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We use an internal project management tool called ClickUp. I post tasks in there, and if MiApple Inc. needs clarification, they call me. If they need instant feedback, we use Skype. We’ve also had in-person meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of complexity of the WordPress structure is impressive. It requires a very high level of skills. What sets them apart is how good they are with custom WordPress development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their communication. Sometimes they don’t wait for my feedback if I don’t respond; they just go for it. I don’t know if that’s necessarily a bad thing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for a very complex WordPress website, MiApple Inc. can handle it very well. For a simple one, you won’t be able to tell the difference between them and other companies. If you want to get the most out of your engagement with this team, give them customized, complex features to work on.

For the very good customer service and the domain expertise, MiApple provided very good and practical to our initial proposal and recommended several good features, such as online chatting and online consultation scheduling to help us improve our own customer service.

Site traffic is improved tremendously and also the end user experience. We conducted a post-survey with our customer to get the feedback on the website, and the results are promising.

The web development domain expertise and exceptional customer service. Also the SEO strategies.

They could definitely improve on the communication channels, if they can make use of Slack, that will be better.
