Upgrade dated switches on our network to enhance the speed of our VPN and general server activity.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Little to no disruption of workflow and increase speed and functionality of the VPN.

The timeline for installation was met including doing some work afterhours. Any post-installation issues were dealt with quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

After the switches were installed an engineer was onsite the next morning at opening to ensure there were no issues with the network or users of the network.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Merit Technologies could have done differently?

There were some residual issues after installation but nothing that was not expected for a project of this type.

I’m the IT systems administrator for a church community focused on authentic Christianity. We offer heartfelt worship, biblical teaching, and a welcoming environment to help people experience Jesus and God’s grace in a fresh way.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Merit Technologies to accomplish for your business?

We needed assistance with IT services and support. We also needed higher-level support than what was currently available to us with our in-house team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Merit Technologies has learned about our environment and made recommendations about our hardware needs. They’ve also assisted us in putting in procedures and practices. Since they’ve been our primary vendor for over a decade, it’s difficult to remember what they initially assisted us with, but it was focused on servers, domains, and networking.

What is the team composition?

We have worked with several different team members over the years. We currently work with about 3 to 4 of their team members currently who fill different needs for us from CIO consulting, to network support and configuration to help desk issues.

How did you come to work with Merit Technologies?

Someone referred Merit Technologies to us. We chose them over other options because they were close to our geographic location, had a great culture fit, and their company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

Thousands and thousands of $$ over the years. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2012, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Merit Technologies has done a good job of staying in touch and meeting our needs. Thanks to their work, we have a stronger network infrastructure and reduced downtime. Since our network has greatly expanded while they’ve been our partner, it’s hard to estimate the improvement. However, we can say that our network has continued to be stable through our transitions. Moreover, our user satisfaction has always been high, and their incident response times have been solid.

How did Merit Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver on time and have been proactive in helping us complete projects. We communicate via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and email or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Merit Technologies’ team is technically competent and efficient. They’re also easy to work with and have a desire to teach. We view them as partners, not vendors.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been some challenges from time to time, but we’ve addressed those issues as they come up, and they were proactive to address those both internally and with us and we were able to move forward in a better position than when we started. It would be unrealistic to have this important a relationship with a company without any issues. We are grateful that Merit has always been responsive to our concerns and eager to serve us in the process.
